The armadillo is as small guesthouse runned by the owners, it is situated in a tropical garden. We are just a few minutes away from the beach, our pool is right in front of the house. Preparing dinners for you is our pleasure: our restaurant is also open for non-resident guests, prior to reservation

My husband and I stayed with Andrea and Bernie for a week over the new year and we had a wonderful time. The location of their guesthouse is beautiful - surrounded by natural beauty in a serene setting. We had a lovely good sized room with a large balcony that we enjoyed our morning coffee on and a hammock to relax in the afternoon sun. The pool was great too!

Don’t miss this lovely guesthouse with the best restaurant in Grenada and surely one of the top restaurants in the Caribbean in our experience! My husband and I stayed at the Armadillo for 10 nights in November and enjoyed a relaxing and memorable stay – Andrea and Bernie are gracious, kind, thoughtful and professional hosts who made us feel welcome throughout our stay and were always on hand to help if we needed anything – they went out of their way to make sure we had everything we wanted.
We slept very peacefully in our bright and spacious room, with wrap around balcony looking out to lovely sea views and it was great to be able to use the pool for a refreshing dip. Breakfast on the covered patio watching the humming birds drinking nectar from the colourful flowers was something to look forward to, with freshly baked bread, fresh fruit juices made from fruits from the garden, eggs made to order and wonderful homemade jams – the bitter orange jam was superb and Andrea was so kind as to give us a jar to take home.
Andrea and Bernie serve lunch and dinner at the Armadillo to outside guests, and we were completely wowed by the food. As darkness falls the patio takes on a new and elegant ambiance as you listen to the call of the treefrogs and enjoy the gentle breeze – it’s a delightful place to enjoy the outstanding food and wine. Bernie and Andrea are truly gifted chefs who care deeply about the quality and taste of every dish they serve and use the freshest of local ingredients. Their food is simply delicious and beautifully presented, (the goats cheese mousse starter and lionfish main were sublime), combining herbs and spices, mostly from their garden, to add depth to the ingredients and creating flavours and textures to wow the taste buds! This is gourmet food but without any of the stuffiness of a gourmet restaurant!
Thankyou Andrea and Bernie for a wonderful experience

One comes with a strange sentiment into a quarantine for Covid-19 (a standard procedure when entering the Spice Island from overseas).
Hence what we experienced at the Armadillo Guesthouse in Sauteurs (Grenada) made us love the quarantine so much that we actually did not want to leave this exceptional place.

The ambiance, the relaxing mood, the beautiful flowers all around. The tropical gardens at the back of the Guesthouse with almost everything one could imagine from A (Almonds) to Z (Zaboca). The absolute highlights were the spectacular views from the room or balcony over the Caribbean sea and the many Grenadine Islands up to St. Vincent.
Of course, there were other surprising bonuses at the Armadillo Guesthouse: the food is probably the best on the Island, cooked with garden fresh herbs and other natural ingredients and wonderfully spiced to one's likings or special taste. Bon appetit! Also, the welcoming sunrise over the Welcome Rock and even Sugar Loaf Hill, the enjoyable singing of tropical birds, the greens of the lush surrounding hills and the blues of the Carribbean Sea transposes one into a relaxing and meditative mood.
And last but not least the perfect hosts managing this tropical paradise who always went the extra mile.
Merci beaucoup! Vielen Dank! Thank you!

You were our first quarantine guests - also for us a new situation - and we are more than happy that we could turn your quarantine into a joyful, relaxing experience that almost felt like real holidays. We enjoyed having you here as our special guests but still are happy for you that you are back in your home now. Please stay safe, we are looking forward to seeing you again in the future. We stayed only 1 night at Armadillo, but how much we wished we would have quarantined here. Andrea and Bernie welcomed us with open arms in their lovely space overlooking the ocean all the way to Cariacou. The rooms are lovely and contain everything one would need.

The food however was what clinched the deal for us; a lovely dinner of incredibly fresh foods, paired with lovely wines and all of this followed by a great breakfast in the morning, with home made jams.

The guesthouse is set a little of the main road, creating some real privacy.

My partner and I stayed at Armadillo for over a week this January after being recommended to stay by a friend. It did not disappoint! Andrea and Bernie are fantastic hosts, they were friendly, relaxed and super helpful with providing recommendations for day excursions and activities on the island.
The guesthouse is lovely and homely. The room we stayed in was clean and spacious with access to a kitchenette and had a balcony with a stunning view of the sea.
Breakfast was something to look forward to each morning as Andrea and Bernie make their own absolutely delicious jams (look out for the mango and coconut one!) and serve local coffee and homemade fresh juices.
We are already looking forward to coming back and would like to thank them for being so welcoming and for making our trip so special.

Best food of the trip and on the island! I’m a foodie and value amazing, thoughtful, well balanced dishes, Armadillo impressed with their ability to let the ingredients and dishes shine! A most simmering experience of your able to get a reservation! They were booked up to stay with, so we Airbnb’d up the road at a place called the treetop! We were able to walk to the restaurant in about 20 minutes, which was nice.

Excellent 3 days staying at Armadillo. Well located for visiting the sights of the North - highlights were Crayfish bay chocolate, Levara Beach and a hike up to the Welcome stone. Delicious food each evening served on very pleasant terrace - probably the best dinners we had in our 2 weeks in Grenada. Breakfast eggs cooked in Coconut oil also a favourite!

My husband and I found this amazing gem of a place this week for my 50th birthday. We booked in for a meal at their restaurant after reading all the wonderful reviews. We are so happy we did. This is "the best food on the island" and one of the best meals we have had. We were able to whatsapp the owners and they sent us the menu and we provided our meal requests and time. The ambiance, the customer service, the attention to detail....everything was superb! I felt very special and lucky to be dinning here. Each dish was unique and the flavours were beautiful. I love when dining is an experience rather than a task. You won't be disappointed if you book here. The house is also a guesthouse and it is so lovely with a pool and beautiful deck. The owners are so proud and kind and you feel like instant friends. Oh and the prices were so reasonable! Thank you Andrea and Bernie!!!

The Armadilloa Guesthouse was our favourite place to stay as we explored Grenada over the Christmas break. Andrea and Bernie were the most welcoming of hosts, thoughtful, kind and above all professional. The rooms were perfect, views fantastic and the food sublime. Make sure that you book in good time to avoid missing out on one of the best places to stay and dine in Grenada.

We stayed in another hotel not far away and, after seeing Armadillo's intriguing menu on the internet, decided to try it out ourselves and treat ourselves to a nice birthday dinner.
So that day we got ourselves ready and walked to the Armadillo with high expectations in our baggage. It was a bit of a climb, but we enjoyed the walk and were very impressed seeing the beautiful house on top of the hill. We were the only guests for dinner at the time, so didn't have to share the wonderfully pleasant hospitality of our fabulous hosts with anyone else.
Then there was the food. It was unbelievable and we found our senses to be truly spoiled in both taste and presentation of the dinner, which clearly was masterfully prepared by someone talented and experienced in doing their magic in the kitchen.
We didn't expect to find anything like this place in such a remote yet beautiful location and we went there again just two days later as once was simply not enough for us. A hidden gem ready to welcome those who read reviews, hear about it by word of mouth or simply like to discover places themselves. Please make sure to reserve in advance.
