This hotel is located in the middle of amazing scenery in valdres. The food was absolutely amazing and the view stunning! The rooms are not the most modern, but your not there to stay in. Would absolutely recommend going here. We went to a wedding and everything was just beautiful. Thank you for having us.

The hotel is close to Valdres Alpinanegg wit ski in and out. The hotel is a gift from Norway to Danmark for helping us during Ww 2. It is beautifully situated wit splendid view famous Jotunheimen. The restaurant is fair, the rooms are ok and clean, but you don't come here to stay in the room. In addition to alpine skiing the possibilities for CrossCountry skiing are wast.

We went and had dinner tonight. Fantastic food based on local ingredients. Fish that had been fished in the region, pigs that were bred right across the valley and had run free in the mountains, deer and reindeer from the area and cheeses also from Valdres. Local beer that fit perfectly. Really a great experience if you want to taste the local produce. If you wanted something more simple, the hamburger that the kids took was excellent.

We went here for a couples weekend away skiing. The hotel is in a good location for cross country skiing. The rooms are ok, and the food (dinner) was very good (but expensive if you are not staying with full board). But the service, or lack of service was shocking. It felt like everyone there had their first day at work (except the chef). Would not recommend anyone to go here,

Danebu Kongsgard was actually a gift from the people of Norway to the people of Denmark as a thank you for Denmark's help after WWII. It was built between 1947 - 1950 and has been renovated several times since. Considering the rather sporty but frugal layout of the rooms I assume that it was meant as place where Danes could come to Norway and experience the Norwegian winter sports and view and enjoy the beautiful landscape, including the majestic mountains which Denmark lacks. Indeed, the rooms are small with only the bare necessities. Good beds, an efficient bathroom and lots of space for clothing. Free wifi in the rooms. But the rooms have no telephone, no television, no kettle. No indoor swimming pool and no spa, but a well equipped exercise room and a sauna. So if you want to get away from it all this is a wonderful place for relaxation and peace of mind. We were the only overnight guests and has a wonderful dinner and a great breakfast. Breakfast is included in the price which might explain why the price is rather on the high side. The personnel is very friendly and helpful and we had a very relaxing stay. Beware that you will need 20 kroners for the toll road up the mountain. The automatic box does not accept bills or cards so make sure you have coins.
