Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

Nestled in the heart of Stratford, the Holiday Inn Express London enjoys acclaim for its tidy rooms and attentive housekeeping, with cleanliness being a standout feature for many visitors. The location garners praise, with guests appreciating the hotel's easy access to local transport, shopping, and entertainment, including the ABBA Voyage and Olympic Park. While the hotel's service is generally celebrated for its friendliness and professionalism, it's noted that there can be occasional hiccups when the hotel is at full capacity.
The rooms offer comfort and cleanliness, though some guests have mentioned issues with noise and temperature control. The value proposition of the hotel is well-regarded, especially due to the inclusive breakfast and competitive room rates, although some extras may come at a premium. Amenities, including the complimentary breakfast, are popular among guests, though the limited vegetarian options and parking can be a concern for some.

We went to London to celebrate our 18th anniversary and the new years. We specifically choose the Holliday inn Stratford City for our trip because of the location, it’s located right next to the Westfield Mall and Stratford Station.
When we arrived we were warmly welcomed by Sandra (receptionist) she was super nice and helpful. We arrived too early so she took our bags and did the registration right away. When we came back around 1/2 pm our room was ready for us to start our stay.
When we got in to our room we were surprised by being chosen as ‘Guest of the day’ we also got a nice handwritten congratulating us with our 18th anniversary.
The room was clean at arrival and always cleaned during our stay compliments for Housekeeping.
We didn’t eat dinner in the restaurant but we did order roomservice once and the food was delicious. Breakfast was good you have a lot to choose from.
I want to thank all the staff from the reception, bar, housekeeping, back of the house and the concierge for all their help and good hospitality.
I will definitely wil be staying at this hotel again and recommend it to others.
Kind regards,

We stayed as a family of four in two adjoining rooms with a connecting door for two nights as my children were competing in a swimming gala at the London Aquatics centre.
Rooms were spotless and comfortable and had all amenities expected of a budget hotel.
Several families from our swimming club stayed at the hotel and as we had to make an early start we asked if breakfast could be ready any earlier than the 7am stated. The receptionist on duty (Antoinette) said she would request for the hot buffet to start at 6.30am for us and when we came down both mornings breakfast was laid out already. A good choice of food both hot and cold with fresh fruit and wide choice of drinks.
Evening restaurant food looked good and although not an extensive menu other families in our group said it was excellent.
Hotel parking is expensive (£20 per night) and spaces are limited but via a parking app we parked at Buzz Bingo centre (3 minutes walk from hotel) for £7 for the weekend.
Tesco express 5 minutes away which is open 6am to 11pm everyday.
Olympic Park is 10 minutes walk.
A great hotel to stay at and we couldn't thank the staff enough for making our stay an enjoyable one.

Great hotel, friendly helpful staff.
POSITIVES
Near Stratford and Westfield Shopping centre also bus station and Trains. Short walk about 10 mins.
Car parking nearby too if needed. ( limited space at hotel)
Rooms are nice and clean, spacious, comfortable beds, large TV.
Beds are comfortable
Triple glazed windows, limited noise at the front of the hotel. Rooms more quieter at the back. If at the front better to be high up.
Staff are friendly and willing to help.
NEGATIVES
Pillows are awful and Hard
Not enough milk, Tea/Coffee/sugar in the room.
Hotel using plastic Knives, Forks and spoons at breakfast, not nice to use at all especially when trying to cut bacon. Please please use Stainless steel ones and place them in a paper bag (COVID reasons)
Biggest issue at breakfast. One way system. It should start at the drinks and end with the hot food (reverse your system). Because by the time you get round to the drinks and croissants etc your hot food is stone cold.

Bedroom was simple and comfortable.
Issues with it?
the pillows sink and become rock hard very fast.
Soundproofing needed as could hear through walls some less than savoury acts and then music from a different room. Then when that stopped could hear music and traffic from outside.
All in all not a great night sleep
Breakfast?
Don't even bother
No Sausages, the bacon was overcooked, dry like
Egypt in a drought, and cold less than 20 mins into service time, the scrambled eggs were so poor even Oliver twist wouldn't want more, hash browns were cooked but stone cold, the beans were like a goopy mess straight from a tin that even tesco value would be ashamed of
Didn't attempt to eat the bakery goods as they were just sat uncovered in the open air (very smart during a pandemic 🙄) and not individually wrapped as most hotels have during these times.
The drinks?
Apple juice from the machine was passable
Orange juice was undrinkable, 98.8% water, no orange flavour to speak of.
Pink grapefruit was the best option of the three by far
The saving grace of breakfast for me was Nutella on toast, the only actually safe thing to eat at breakfast time being the bread which you'd toast yourself.
One thing I liked was that you had to sanitise and use gloves in the buffet, which would be great if the gloves weren't catering gloves which my fingers ripped through in about 15 seconds. Felt a tad redundant making the effort to put them on.
Initially I didn't even notice the gloves were there or a sign to say we had to wear them (the sign is akin to a6/a7 size), so was barked at by a member of staff to put gloves on - not the impression to give a paying guest!!
The housekeeping team are doing a sterling job though and the TV is impressive with its chrome cast capabilities.
Would stay again but go for anything that isn't breakfast
The reception staff have been great and friendly during our stay however for the staff in the buffet area to not even say good morning seems like a basic misstep at best especially as we were the only diners at the time
For a cheap short stay it does the job but if you're staying for more than a couple of nights I'd find something a bit more premium

Stayed for two nights to visit the o2 arena for a concert. Location in Stratford was ideal although the area surrounding the hotel was run down. The road is very very noisy and the triple glazing does not cut all the sound out. If it was a hot summer night you'd struggle to have the window open and get sleep. The staff at the hotel were amazing and we cannot fault them. The room and hotel were in general very clean. However, there are several basic things that let the hotel down. In the room there is no drawer space and very limited hanging space so we lived out of the suitcase as we could not unpack. No 'usual' facilities in the room like a pad and pen, no biscuits and not decaff tea at all in the hotel, which is outrageous in this day and age. Breakfast was chaotic due to the size and location of the buffet and the number of people trying to get there. The food struggled to reach adequate and it was also bland and tasteless. The maid also came into our room well in advance of checkout time on the final morning despite a sign on the door saying the room was still occupied. She didn't knock she just came straight in and didn't apologise for disturbing us. Just as well we were dressed. All in all would probably not stay there again.

The hotel is perfectly located between Stratford train station (Westfield) and Pudding Mill Lane DLR (ABBA arena). Check in was efficient and friendly. My room was located on the first floor so easily accessed via the stairs by the vending machine on the ground floor. The lift requires room card operation. My standard room had a large comfortable double bed, flat screen tv and double glazed window that could be opened. The air con worked perfectly and was much appreciated during the London heatwave. Two small bottles of water were provided with tea, coffee, milk, sugar and water kettle. There is also a safe, small desk and chair. The bathroom had a shower and sink with hair/body wash and liquid soap dispensers. The shower head had a push button change of spray. As a solo traveller, I found the room space adequate but may feel cramped/limited if sharing. The breakfast is available at reception area and had a good selection of hot options but eggs could not be made to order so only scrambled eggs are on offer. There is a selection of cold options with yogurt and fruit. The coffee machine worked well and there was a selection of juices. Bar is open 11am to 01 am. Breakfast served Mon to Fri 0630 am to 10 am. Wekends/Holidays 7am to 1030 am. Chek in is 2pm and checkout is 11 am.

Good stay! Stayed for two days and got a nice room on the sixth floor. Would reccomend asking for a high floor as the road can be quite noisy.
Breakfast was good (self serve) with a good selection both hot and cold. They make you wear gloves which is a bit unusual given most medical advice is washing hands is better than just putting gloves on. Other than that, all good!

Recently stayed at this hotel for its convenience for the ABBA show, parking on site at £20 for 24 hours, the room was spotless with a massive comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent, ( if a little limited) with staff guiding you to a table which they cleaned if not already done so. 5/10 minutes to the ABBA venue, 10/15 minutes to the Olympic park which is well worth spending time at. We would recommend staying at this hotel.

This hotel is close to Stratford High street station on the DLR line and so convenient to the Westfield Stratford shopping centre and buses/underground. There are also ample cafes/ restaurants adjacent to the hotel. Breakfast was included in the price and was ample. The rooms are not very big , however they are clean and tidy. My only gripe was the hair and body wash dispenser in the bathroom, it worked but you could only get a very small amount at a time. There was a safe, to and tea / instant coffee facilities available in the room.

I can’t remember exactly what was on the menu but I would say that it is similar to pub menu. It ranges from fish and chips to steak and chips. Vegetarian options are also available.
When we stayed we had the fish and chips and the burger and chips. All of it was really nicely cooked. The fish was lovely and the batter was crispy and tasty. The burger was very meaty, full of flavour and tasted more like steak. Even the chips were cooked to perfection. We didn’t have a desert so can’t give any feedback on that.
Its London - for the price it was perfectly adequate
Good morning Trek14286732286. You can store your bags with us while you enjoy the concert, that is absolutely fine.
Yes you can take breakfast to room but room service very expensive. So go to buffet and bring food to your room
