Detailed Reviews
Brompton Farmhouse is right in the middle of the country, a very rural spot, The house is gorgeous and very very peaceful. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. The breakfast was superb. We were made to feel very welcome.

Just had our second stay at Brompton and can imagine we will return. The atmosphere has changed significantly in the 18 months since our first visit. With the owner no longer living at the property it almost has the feeling of a small hotel rather than a traditional english B&B. The place is run by a lovely Girl, Anda, who is very welcoming and obviously works incredibly hard to keep the place running smoothly and everybody happy. Both times we enjoyed an excellent evening meal as well as the usual afternoon tea and excellent breakfast. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The one small criticism is that on our second visit the lovely local hand made jams and honeys that were available last year have been replaced by supermarket brands. I hope this is not suggestive of an overall drop in standards in future.

I stayed here for one night last night, the 22nd Feb. From a lovely greeting with a hot, fresh pot of tea to a fab breakfast on departure I rate this B and B a rare 5/5. Just don't book when I want to come back..... I am a regular visitor to Telford for work meetings and I have found a gem of a place to rest my head. I am middle aged with very young children and found the place very very quite (lovely for me!!) and off the beaten track so it wouldn't suit young folk I don't think. The house is in the middle of no where! Nick in Harrogate.

We booked into Brompton Farmhouse as we had booked an Italian cookery course with Marcus Bean & decided to make a weekend of it.
We were met at the door by Marcus & shown to our room, which was a good size with a large onsuite bathroom.
Coffee maker and, still warm, homemade biscuits finished the ambience off nicely.
Windows overlooking the large garden complete with free range chickens wandering around. We thought the big strutting cockeral was going to be a problem, but if he did crow we didn't hear him as comfortably fast asleep.
Breakfast was cooked by Marcus's own fair hand & consisted of locally sourced fair, homemade choice of breads & propper free range eggs from previously mentioned chickens.
Great stay, highly recommended.

B and B
We stayed at Brompton Farmhouse for two nights in September
It is a lovely older property consisting of 3 bedrooms – we stayed in the Attingham Room with lovely views over the large and attractive front garden
All the rooms are very tastefully decorated including the comfortable lounge and separate breakfast room
Marcus was a very charming host – nothing being too much trouble. He has also appeared on a number of TV programmes showing his self-taught culinary skills! There is a very good choice of breakfast both cold and hot - you can choose the hot options on the evening before and cooked freshly to the time you request!
There are cookery courses that can be booked in advance and are undertaken in the very modern kitchens which have been kitted out in the separate outbuildings
It is a great place to tour Shrewsbury and area – only a few miles away plus a large number of historic sites all within easy reach by car We particularly liked:
Shrewsbury – many lovely buildings to explore in the centre which has a good selection of shops / malls The main park includes ‘The Dingle’ a small but beautifully manicured gardens / flower beds
Outside Shrewsbury we visited amongst others:
Castle Corbett
Acton Burnell
Wroexter (Roman City)
Ironbridge / Bliss Victorian Village
Much Wenlock Priory
Would highly recommend this B and B

Lovely farmhouse, peaceful and relaxing with views across open countryside. Our room, The Ironbridge, was spacious and comfortable. The new tenants were friendly and welcoming and have plans to redecorate and improve the house. Breakfast was delicious.

My husband and I have stayed at the Brompton several times since December 2010 as we have needed to visit an elderly relative in nearby Cross Houses. We have been made very welcome on each occasion and for this we thank the friendly staff and especially Anda.
We love staying in the Attingham room which overlooks the front of the Farmhouse, but every room is tastefully decorated and charming with en suite facilities. The lovely Georgian sitting room with log fire in the winter months, coffee and homemade cake in the afternoon, and the great breakfasts (with free range eggs) all contribute to a warm and pleasant stay. Our only complaint is that we wish it was our house!!

Friendly staff, a clean spacious room, nice lawn with seating, prefect for a nice coffee.
Try the restaurant (not the bar) in the nearby Mytton and Mermaid for a wonderful meal at a great price!

Stayed here for a long weekend with my partner. It's in a beautiful rural location yet only 5-10 minutes drive from Shrewsbury town centre. Very comfy beds and friendly staff. Spent the Saturday night at the cookery school which is on the same site as the B&B on one of their demo and dine evenings which was great, lovely food and lots of tips picked up from the chef. Planning to visit shropshire again in the summer when the weather is a bit warmer and will stay here again for sure.
