Well received as a walk in. Good quality / value relationship. Only negative would be the dodgy elevator. Flashing lights and creaky - like something out of the Shining. So take the stairs! Otherwise great.

Yes, we used a car to get from the Pousada into the main town. Be careful where you park---near the university buildings there are strict regulations. We found parking about three blocks from the main libraries for free. Check side streets. Going to the Roman site is a bit far to walk, so you need a car for that as well. We used a GPS to navigate. However, getting back to the Pousada always seemed nonintuitive.
