Pelekas Monastery hotel garners appreciation for its impeccable cleanliness, particularly the well-kept beach and diligent room servicing, although a few guests have pointed out issues with room upkeep. While the serene location and beachfront charm are highly praised, some visitors feel the hotel's value falls short, citing the all-inclusive package and facilities that could benefit from renovation. The hotel's amenities, including the picturesque views and welcoming staff, are well-liked, but there's a consensus that certain amenities like sunbeds and bathrooms need enhancements.
Despite this, the service shines with staff members earning accolades for their warmth and attentiveness, even as some guests suggest improvements in dining and communication. The rooms' size and vistas receive commendation, yet many agree that modernization is needed. Lastly, the hotel's atmosphere offers a tranquil and amiable vibe, with live music contributing to the experience, though the entertainment receives mixed impressions.

What a week! Having done the larger multiple pool, restaurant, bars all inclusive on other Greek islands the size of the hotel and the secluded location appealed to us (family of 4) and Pelekas didn’t disappoint. Flight delays meant we arrived in the dark and probably didn’t realise the beauty of the location until the following morning. Arriving just past midnight the welcome from the staff was first class, a mix up with the room meant they had anticipated 2 people arriving and not 2 + 2 children, straight away someone was sent to sort the room and beds. The male on reception called for someone to open the bar to do us all a drink and sending another member of staff away to get us sandwiches. The room, as others have mentioned could do with a spruce! Although that said it was exactly as advertised and pictured and spotlessly clean. The next morning we woke to discover the stunning views and location. Pool area small but that said never struggled for a bed each and a great chilled out atmosphere around the pool. No rushing to put towels down early morning and when people left the pool area they’d take their towels away rather than leave them on the off chance they may want to return later. Food is good and varied especially for the size of the main restaurant, wine and beer a good standard. Again a good atmosphere and it never seemed a mad frenzy like some all inclusive can be. Great sandy beach and great pool bar with a good cocktail selection! We’ve stayed at much larger hotels and found it’s limited on cocktails and large queues to get a drink. Highlight had to be the evenings, sax player and the Greek night the highlights along with the violinist, it really sets the scene and live music like that with the backdrop of the beach and mountains really is something especially as the sun sets. Overall a really relaxed family friendly hotel and although improvements can be made with the rooms and certainly the air con we couldn’t have asked for a better week, the staff really do make this hotel and made our experience here almost faultless. The many pros certainly outweigh the few cons! And make sure to visit ‘kaisers throne’ at the top of Pelekas village you won’t find better views on the island

We booked 7 nights in the Junior Suite with a Sea View on an All-Inclusive basis. The staff were friendly and we were met with many warm smiles. The food at the Petras Restaurant was pretty good and we felt there was a good selection of food on offer. We checked in late, after the dinner service had ended at the Petras Restaurant and were very appreciative of how the staff made sure we had sandwiches on arrival.
However we were disappointed with the quality of the room as it beared little resemblance to the images of the Junior Suite on the website. While it was clean, the room is dated and not up to the standard of a 5* hotel. The bath tub is equally dated, with the shower screen lacking a bottom seal that would let out a lot of water when the shower is used.
There was no facility to charge additional services to our room which meant when ordering bottles of wine to the room we had to pull out a bank card to pay for it on the spot. We would have expected this as a basic functionality from other hotels.
The freshwater pool temperature was great, though there was a lot of flaking paint in the child's pool. Our child was constantly picking out pieces of flaked paint.
The beach is one of the best we have been to, with clear waters and lots of fish swimming. The water was shallow, calm and easy for our 2 year old child who isn't the most confident in water to bring into. The time of year with kids back at school meant finding a lounger on the beach or by the poolside was easy.
In summary, the staff were great, very friendly and worked as hard as they could with facilities that needed renovation, though I understand that work to bring this up to standard is going to be taking place during the winter.

We stayed at Pelekas Monastery for 11 nights at the beginning of July. It is a beautiful place with stunning views and a gorgeous sandy beach with crystal clear waters. The sunset was amazing! We really enjoyed the food. Lots of choice and tasted delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a slight issue the second night as I wanted a bath, but there wasn't a plug and also there wasn't any hot water. When we went to reception to report this they were very quick to act. Within 5 minutes a plug was sent up to us and within half an hour they had fixed the issue with the hot water. The rooms are dated and need more drawer space, the bathroom was tired and needs updating. I understand that they are making major renovations next year. The pool is on the small side, so perhaps that may be one of the alterations they are going to make as there is space for a bigger pool. There are lots of steps, we were on the top floor, but if you want stunning scenery then you have to expect this. There is a lift for some of the steps which helps. The bus service is very well organised, a shuttle bus from hotel takes you to pelekas up the hill, then 5 minutes later you can catch the bus to Corfu Town which we absolutely loved. Then coming back the bus drops you off and the shuttle bus is waiting for you to take you back to hotel. No problems at all. The entertainment was fairly good. Some nights better than others. The saxophonist and violinist were great, however some of the singers seem to have the same tone whatever song they were singing. Overall a great relaxing holiday and would love to come back once renovations made. We felt sad to leave

I start by saying that the hotel is located in a fantastic place beautiful beach and sea , an exceptional view . Unfortunately here the praise ends... we stayed in August for 15 days with my family. It is not a five star ... maybe it was years ago ... now, for the management deserves three ... Arrived we found the bathroom , as well as old (broken door and toilet) also dirty ... in general the hotel has cleaning problems everywhere. The room had two armchair beds with very fine mattresses creaking and it was impossible to sleep on them. We asked at the reception, the same evening, to intervene both for the mattresses and for cleaning (especially) but we were told that they would come the next morning ... in the morning I explained the situation , the bathroom I cleaned ... at 17 no one had done anything yet and then I had to explain for the third time all the problems found to the staff manager. They added the two mattresses and offered a bottle of wine and fruit. Obviously we appreciated and thanked. The next morning at 8 o'clock all the annoying noises began, especially of the cleaning ladies who, loudly, spoke , calling each other and disturbing the whole corridor. One morning they insistently knocked on us at 8.30am, they came in to leave us some water and then they did not make us the room either in the morning or in the afternoon, I told the reception , I was told that they were very busy that day ... There is no soundproofing so much that we heard the beds of the other rooms creak. The beach, as I said , beautiful but badly kept : sunbeds all broken and dirty , cigarettes from the days before always left in the ashtrays, walkways and showers never cleaned ... at the bottom there are boxes of umbrellas , broken things , as if it were a dump ... also you had to grab an umbrella early in the morning or the night before because everyone put beach towels to keep the place and no one managed the allocation of umbrellas . The pool, when we arrived, was very cloudy and they had to do a treatment to clean up the water but, despite this, it was definitely not clean. The restaurant, in an enviable location, had international food, the quality was average, something was always found. Even here the cleanliness is not the best ... The problem was the wasps that were very aggressive settling on the plates, so people had to wait in line for a seat to open up inside. On the terrace you could only dine at 9pm when the wasps disappeared... In the pool bar , one day, there was a strong smell of sewer ... sick ... I was told that pipes had broken behind the bar and the unthinkable had happened ... Despite everything we still enjoyed the holiday ... the sea paid for every inefficiency .

Booked the Pelekas Monastery via Secret Escapes for some end of season sun on an All Inclusive basis. This hotel is shown as 5 star, not sure who gives out these ratings but whoever that was must have received a large 'back hander' as payment. The staff are excellent and the food is fine, however, the hotel itself is no more than 3 star at most. The rooms bare no resemblance to those pictured on the hotel website and are extremely dated and in drastic need of a serious makeover. We had booked a 'Superior Double room'. On arrival, we were informed by the female staff member who made a big thing about how we had been upgraded to a 'Superior Suite'. On being shown to the room, No 5102, we found no difference in what we had originally booked. There was a Single chair which flopped down into a single bed, but otherwise it was exactly what we had booked. Surely a single bed does not constitute a description of a 'Suite'. On closer inspection, we found the curtains had broken away from the rail, the balcony was filthy with a definite 'trip hazzard' directly outside patio doors, the woodwork around the main doorframe had rotted away and the general finish of the room was below average. Whilst I have no desire to watch TV when on holiday, it is nice to be able to watch a movie or documentary whilst your partner is showering before the evening meal. However, the only English speaking channel is Sky News and whilst I love keeping up to date with current affairs, I have no wish to listen to the same dross for hours on end, all this on a TV the size of a Laptop screen. As mentioned, the food is good but I've yet, until now, stayed in an apparent 5* hotel, where I have to self serve my own drinks during the evening meal, there did not appear to be any waiter service certainly for All Inclusive clients. Whilst on the subject of All Incusive, there are 3 restaurants/bars at this hotel, however, in two of these bars, the The Laguna bar or the Beach bar, for some ridiculous reason, All Inclusive clients are not allowed to order food. I can order a drink, the guy standing next to me who is on a 'Pay as you go' holiday, can order a burger but me, who has paid in full for everything I eat and drink before I arrive, can't order the same burger, cooked by the same chef in the same kitchen. Just ridiculous. Moving on to the beach area. Guests have access to the hotels beach however, the Sunbeds, of which there are plenty, are cheap, nasty and in very poor condition. I would estimate 70% are broken or split and need replacing asap. There are numerous other aspects of this trip that could be mentioned but feel enough has been said. This is a very basic and shoddy hotel set in a great location that is pulling the wool over customers eyes by stating it is 5*, when in truth it is a million miles away from such a distinction

The Pension's location is exceptional: on a large sandy beach surrounded by rocks, in a calm, flowery environment. The Beginner suite rooms with sea view are spacious and comfortable. The maids are very discreet and efficient. Breakfast and dinner buffets (we were half board) are not exceptional but correct. Sunbeds and bath towels are available to guests. Bathing at the sea is very nice and safe for those who are with children or who are not good swimmers: we walk very far. Every evening, from the terrace of our room or from the beach, we could see a magnificent spectacle: the sunset over the sea. For those who do not want to do the lizards all day, it is imperative to have a car. Small problems in the bathroom that could easily be improved: the rim of the toilet bowl was not adapted; it was much too small and did not fit! Difficulties with the shower. Faced with the impossibility of operating it, we notified the reception who immediately sent a technician. But even after the repair, it was very difficult to operate the shower. Another area for improvement is that the Pension is secluded and there is not a single shop around. However, the Pension's small shop has not provided some essentials that could be very useful: packs of tissues, makeup remover and other such products.

We had a fantastic experience staying at the Pelekas monastery hotel. We arrived late on Saturday night and received a lovely welcome. Despite booking a standard double room with no sea view we were surprised to find they had given us a balcony with a sea view. The staff were really lovely and as a queer lesbian couple we felt extremely welcome and safe throughout our visit. The beach was fantastic so we spent all our time there, the pool wasn’t for us but still amazing to sit and have a drink at the bar. The all inclusive food and drinks were really amazing and we were offered a lot of options to choose from. The entertainment in the evening was brilliant, the karaoke night being a highlight. They put on a shuttle bus to the top of the hill to get a 30 min bus into Corfu town which was very convenient. The only issue we had was in trying to access a late check out. We had a late flight and requested to be able to leave the room later in the day. The receptionist that I asked was very rude and dismissive and despite being told we could ask the day before and have to pay, she informed us there was nothing she could do even if we paid a bit of money so we ended up showering in the spa (the spa ladies were brilliant!). Overall we had a lovely time and would recommend this hotel!

The Pelekas Monastery is a very good hotel in a lovely location. From our arrival through to departure the staff were all excellent, being very friendly and helpful. We booked half board and found that the food in the Petra restaurant was of a good quality, with a very good choice of dishes. The restaurant staff continually ensured that there was a continuing supply of all of the dishes. We must commend the waiting staff in the restaurant who ensured that we were well looked after, and received good advice on matters such as the wine choices. This hotel is in a fairly isolated position, but the nearby sandy beach with shallow waters and ample free sunbeds, together with the pool area, meant that we were quite happy to stay around Pelekas. Don't be put off by reviews complaining about numerous steps down to the beach and pool. The lifts and vernicular lift were always operating if we chose not to use the steps (and our room was on level 7 at the very top). Overall, a lovely break in a very picturesque location. To end the holiday on the last evening the guys from DS Photography took excellent photos of a very satisfied pair of travellers.

We stayed at the property the week of August 2024.
Let me start by listing the positives:
I have read many reviews that give a 5 star structure as a "false 5 star" worthy of at most 3.. actually I would give it a 4 star. The structure is very large, our room was the highest and therefore away from the beach but thanks to the location, from the balcony we enjoyed a wonderful view of the whole bay .. from the room to the sea it was not even 5 minutes walk, between stairs and elevator, very convenient. The sea is wonderful, suitable for children since you touch for several meters, sandy bottom. Staff is stragentile, always smiling, our room unlike what many wrote was clean and tidy, nothing broken and even the food was very varied from breakfast to dinner, with Greek specialties up to more traditional dishes .. important: avoid bottled water xche that in the dispensers (to my taste) was really horrible. Wonderful view during meals with a glass restaurant but I Recommendation to do like me and always dine on the outside, even xche you can enjoy the company of the cats who live at the Resort, all domesticated and used to the company with the human being, chubby and not at all intrusive .. All inclusive formula very interesting and comfortable.
Negative side:
On the beach the sunbeds are broken, not all but most, this means that hardly the backrest remains on, I Recommendation to change them all. The road to get to the hotel is uncomfortable and for those suffering from the car or afraid to drive, it is not suitable as there are a few hairpin bends and narrow streets (being on top of a mountain).. this makes the evening scarce in activity as "life" is located in Confù town (35 min drive away) or Ipsos (25 min drive away) There is absolutely to improve the evening entertainment at the Resort xche after dinner there was nothing to do but listen to a DJ put music of dubious quality until 11 pm or (one night a girl sang, another played a violin, another played the sax).. I expected there to be more involvement but maybe given the average age and foreign tourism, it was not the right week ..
Ultimately I found myself very very well and can not give it minimum 4 stars, certainly a holiday and a place suitable for relaxation more than fun (for the best corfu town accessible by shuttle service + bus)

Children will certainly have fun. Keep your expectations low regarding the room and try to spend less time in the rooms and enjoy the external facilities and the views. Enjoy beer rather than cocktails included in their all inclusive package because they are pretty bad.
