This is the closest hotel to the airport. If you arrive at 10pm after a 12 hr flight and have another flight that leaves at 6:30 as we did we enjoyed knowing that the time it takes to walk between the hotel room and the terminal is less than 10 minutes.

The rooms were clean and large. In fact, our reservation for a room to accommodate two adults and a young teenager meant that we were given a suite with two rooms, each with a king size bed. The suite also had two bathrooms, one that, curiously had three sinks and three shower stalls. The room was clean but not tremendously new. While we were informed that the rate we booked included breakfast, we did not have it, as we left very early. We were given a warm pastry that was very tasty.

Yes, the hotel is uphill from the airport. It was not a problem for us, as we packed light and even our child had no problem rolling his cabin size suitcase. Yes, it was hot and humid, not because of the hotel, but because this was the weather and we had just arrived from the Northern Hemisphere with way too many clothes on us.

No complaints. It was overpriced for a motel, but being the only accommodation next to the airport they can can set their own price.

Lots of stairs and a series of broken pathways leads from airport to hotel which is the well lit building facing the airport. Completely charmless but 100% utilitarian. We landed at 2 a.m. and our transfer to Bora Bora wasn't until mid morning and we needed somewhere to crash, and this was it. Clean and by Tahiti standards of mad pricing this was perfect in a prefab kinda way, ad even fairly priced
It was raining heavily when we arrived and not knowing better we took a taxi there for $20 and the ride was maybe the best part of two minutes.
No one would stay two nights but for one the place was perfect.

Efficient front desk, quick check-in/out. Near many low cost restaurants, food trucks, a grocery store and a pharmacy. Rooms has hot water kettle, strong air conditioning and a safe (that is not large enough for a laptop). Hotel is up about 100 steps from the airport (including a steep driveway) but that's a good workout between flights (or you can taxi, of course). Breakfast wasn't included in my rate so I bought milk at the grocery and ate cereal in my room with my tea. McDonald's at the airport is another option.

The rooms are clean. The location is convenient. The breakfast includes a croissant, coffee and cold cereal. This is no frills - including tissues in the rooms, locks on the door, 18 inch TV, etc. We spent a night on our way into FP and another evening on our way out. The second taxi ride to the airport created a serious problem for us. We requested a 6:00 am pick up and were in the lobby at 5:55 a.m. – no cab. After a few moments we asked reception to check on the cab and verify the fee to the airport is $15. Finally, at 6:15 a van arrived. The driver made no mention of his lateness – let alone apologize. After we got in, a third person who had been waiting in the lobby since before we arrived, also joined us in the car. Then an employee of the hotel got into the front of the van with the driver.

After our 5 minute drive to the airport – we gave the driver $10 and said the $15 dollar charge should be divided by three. His position was that he wanted $25 for the drive to the airport -- $15 from us and $10 from the other woman. We told him we would not pay more as the fee was just confirmed as $15. As he walked away he yelled that he wished us a terrible 2020.

I immediate wrote to the hotel to alert them to this driver and have not yet heard back. Beware.

My family of four stayed here for our last night before an early flight back to the US. For dinner options, the airport is easily walkable and there's also a grocery store frequented by locals down the street. I ended up getting Happy Meals for the kids and they were beyond excited.

The room was a total shocker after having spent a week at Hilton Moorea. Yes, the three shower stalls was a complete shocker, but we made it work with our kids ages 3 and 5. I also was attracted to this hotel due to it's walking distance to the airport. It's a very short, steep hill with a set of stairs at the top. Given that we had chosen to travel with four carry ons on this trip, we deemed it way too big of a hassle to try to get the kids and four pieces of luggage down that hill, and opted for a taxi instead. For some reason my reservation included breakfast. The kids loved the cheerios and we took our croissants on the plane as snacks.

Basically this hotel is fine for a one night stay, but if with you schedule you're planning spending some time in your hotel during the day, I would look for something in a similar price point a bit further away for a better experience. The Intercontinental Tahiti was also close and way nicer, but of course more expensive too.

We landed in Papeete and had booked in at the Airport Hotel. We were told “it’s just opposite of the airport - 5 minute walk”. What they didn’t mention is that it is across the street and up a series of hills. With 4 bags and 2 backpacks to schlep, it was a daunting task. Once in the hotel, we had to yet again drag our bags up a flight of stairs to get to the lift. Swell. The rooms were what you’d expect for a budget motel.. with a free view of the driveway wall thrown in.

The bed was ok but we had one paper thin sheet and no duvet. The A/C initially didn’t work but later we realized it was set to 30° so the room was scorching. It did cool down after a while thankfully. The fridge didn’t work either as we brought a bunch of perishable items and wanted them kept cold.

We took a taxi to the airport - which was a 3 minute ride for $16 - which, while expensive, I highly recommend over walking with your bags.

Perfect for what we needed. Late flight in and wanted to be close to ferry terminal. Immaculately clean, friendly and 5 minute walk to hotel. Can see it from the airport, walk straight across front parking lot and looking at the hotel.

Would stay here again, actually are for our late flight home in 2 weeks.

The walk up the hill, some people are very dramatic. Not friendly, maybe you get what you give, beyond friendly at the desk. Breakfast is all we needed.

The location, the price, the comfort all great. I can't imagine the property taxes being almost on airport property. The price is reasonable for no taxi needed and laying in bed 20 minutes after Customs and luggage retrieval.

We booked to stay here overnight before catching a flight the next morning. The location is perfect, right opposite the airport. We got a taxi from the airport to the hotel for 3000xpf, because it is up a very steep hill - if you have a rental this would be a scary experience as the road is a very sharp turn down a steep hill to the parking.

The room was clean, and comfortable, and a good size too.

Reception staff were helpful and friendly.

Breakfast was an extra cost, but it wasn't bad. There was a selection of fresh juice, croissants, baguette and butter and jams and cereals.

Staff Juliette was the rudest, most patronising and unhelpful person I have met in French Polynesia. Generally, Tahiti Airport Motel does not fulfill any of the airport-related services you would expect.

Tahiti Airport Motel offers strictly no flexibility regarding small airport-related services. For instance using the WiFi in the reception or a friend leaving their suitcase in your room for an afternoon before their flight. These services are obviously a key part of their business; but they will see any request as annoyance. There are even signs on the tables at the reception stating you are not allowed to wait there *more than a few minutes*.

Trust me – the proximity to the airport is not worth the bad vibes. Do not ruin the beginning or end of your trip there.

Look up *Fare Suisse Tahiti* where we stayed a night. Staff is wonderful, shuttle back and forth the airport is free whatever the time of your flight, you will be at walking distance from the centre for restaurants (there is no option at walking distance around the airport), and the owner brings fresh bread to guests every morning – and all that is ~25% cheaper than the motel.

This is not a resort, it is a place you stay when you are flying in or flying out of Tahiti early or late. We had a late flight into Tahiti and a mid morning flight to Bora Bora so this place was absolutely perfect. It was about a 5 minute walk from the airport. There is an uphill section but it isn't that long. I wouldn't recommend it for super out of shape people, but otherwise it is manageable. The room was totally clean and functional. The price was reasonable and included a sparse breakfast, which was better than nothing and I actually thought the lady that checked us in was not only pleasant but helpful. If ever I find myself flying in or out of Tahiti, I will not hesitate to stay here.

they don't have a day room system. We tried to check in at noon, and they wanted to charge an additional $50. We were told normal checkin was at 2pm. Thankfully, a room opened up at 1pm, and they let us check in at 1pm. Our flight was leaving at midnight, and at the last minute was cancelled. The hotel staff were very accommodating, and let us have our room back without any additional charge.

I saw the cruise terminal/docks right in the city centre- it is a massive and impressive looking building (totally unexpected location and presentation!). The Tahiti Airport Motel is just a short walk down a slightly rough driveway to the main road that goes into town. I saw a bus stop there and have no doubt that it will have very regular bus service into the city. If I was you, I would stay at the Tahiti Airport Motel (especially if you arrive at night and want to save money- it's cheap for Tahiti and clean) then ask at reception about the bus. If the bus option turns out to be 'too hard' (which I very much doubt), there are taxis that hang around the motel. Good luck!
