Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Three of us stayed at the Hotel Gletscherblick on a motorcycle tour and we were all thrilled with the experience. A beautiful location combined with cozy hospitality in a stylish ambience made our stay a great experience!

The vintage rooms are a real journey back in time! This is how people went on vacation in Switzerland 50 years ago. Everything is consistently unrestored but spotlessly clean and very cozy. Just like in the old days, there is only a sink in the room and a toilet and shower on the floor. But honestly, how long do you stay there?

The food and breakfast were also lovingly prepared in a home-style manner - great. We'd be happy to come back, especially given the attractive price!

The hotel was really cozy and had a warm athmosphere. It is not targeted at families as such, but our children enjoyed just as much. There is a swing nearby, a little forest area just next to it to go to look for bunnies and the Seilbahn station with a walking distance to reach the "Kugelweg" and "Muggistutzi" - wonderful hiking routes for children. As Finns we really appreciated the sauna on the roof (with the view!) after a long day of hiking.

The staff is friendly and make you feel home!

What we particularly appreciated is the restaurant. Most swiss restaurants seem to have the same menu, and in summer heat fondue / rösti is just too much. It was nice to have a little bit of variety and Asian vibes for change. The breakfast with local tastes was also delicious!

Though in the past, we had often stopped by their restaurant for a drink, this time we finally could spend two nights in this historic family run hotel with brilliant panorama views of the mountains. And this stay convinced us that if we are ever travelling in this region again, we will be for sure staying here.

The location of the hotel indeed is really great but what makes it even more special are the people who run this place. It is a family owned hotel and one can feel 115 years history of this establishment in every corner and on every wall of the hotel. The staff is extremely friendly, very helpful and supportive. They were interested in us and tried to accommodate our needs. On our second evening there, we were lucky to have racalette dinner. It was really really good. The restaurant has racalette dinners on Thursdays. If you are in the area during the season on Thursdays, do try this.

We did not take breakfast there for we left the room very early each morning. The rooms are spacious and have amazing views of the mountains and open sky. We were thrilled to see Jupiter, Saturn, Mars and Venus from our bed. We might try to again spend a couple of nights in this hotel in August to experience meteor shower, the place is perfect if you enjoy open sky and starry nights in addition to hiking.

The hotel offers rooms with or without private bath. We had one with private bathroom and a nice view. The pictures shown by the hotel by booking are very dated (maybe even over 10y) and the hotel is certainly not three stars, more a one star. The staff is very friendly, breakfast buffet ok, dinner is with very limited menu (and small portions). The breakfast/dinner room offers great view! The building and rooms are not well maintained and old fashioned. I would only recommend this for the view (maybe a light dinner) or if you prefer to stay hostel style. We definitely are not staying a second time.

Although I have only spent one night in Hotel Gletscherblick I can only recommend it!
I had a great experience as the staff was super friendly, helpful and made me feel very welcome. Furthermore, the hotel has a lovely, homely atmosphere and is situated in a great spot where you are even able to see the glacier!
The breakfast buffet was fresh and there was a good range of different foods.
I will definitely come back!

We're a family of 4 that recently stayed at Hotel Gletscherblick. The brief positives are:
* large, clean rooms. Our's had a kitchenette, with dishes and silverware, which was perfect. We were able to actually cook a dinner in the room one night, which was a great change of pace for our vacation.
* Nice, open kitchen where you can fix coffee or tea, or grab some fruit out of the refrigerator, any time of day
* free parking
* out of the traffic and touristy area of Grindelwald, yet within a 10 min walk back into town.

I only gave this place an 'average' though, due to the following:
* Free breakfast was a chaotic scene each morning, where the 1 person working to keep everything replenished was unable to keep up. It's like they just were not fully prepared, or staffed, for the mad dash of people at breakfast time. It didn't help that we found a fly in the orange juice container, either
* Odd hotel in the fact there is a whole restaurant side that appears to be completely shut down. Looks like the front porch of the restaurant would be a nice place to sit and hang out, but it appeared to not be open to guests.
* Balconies are in close proximity to other rooms, with no privacy in between
* Over-priced. For the cost of the room, I don't think you really get anything that special or great.

Food is like a Michelin stared restaurant. Oral pleasures, course after course.

Sauna and pool are a dream escape after a day on the slopes.

Rooms are tidy, authentic and never run out of hot water.

Facilities aside - the staff are incredible. Feel so grateful to have finished the year with the Gletscherblicks.

A perfect location for hiking and walking in Hasliberg, with easy access to additional hikes and outings throughout the Youngfrau Region.

Our room was very clean with beautiful views, comfy beds with eiderdowns, plenty of closet space, and a spacious bathroom.

Breakfast is a plentiful buffet of breads/croissants, meats/cheeses, hard boiled eggs, cereals/muesli, yogurt, and fruit. Wonderful coffee and a wide selections of teas.

Dinners are plated with wait service and the menu offers starters, light or heavy entrees, and fabulous desserts. There are lots of choices for vegetarians and a wonderful selection of classic regional dishes.

The hotel is family owned and operated for over 100 years and we felt very welcome from the moment we arrived. The family is very familiar with the region and can offer advice on hikes, walks, or outings to special events. They often stopped by our table to say hello and it felt so nice to know they really cared about our experience.

I was fortunate enough to have the pleasure of staying at Hotel Gletscherblick for a night this summer. The family that runs the place is incredibly friendly and will make every effort to make sure your time there is top notch. As the name implies, you have an unreal view of the glacier on the other side of the valley. Even if you don't stay for the night, eat at the hotel's restaurant. The menu is very reasonably priced and my meals were delicious. I also had the chance to try out their brunch buffet, which included everything from smoothies to a variety of fruit parfaits and may have been one of the best brunches I've ever had. I simply cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you for a memorable stay

Nice, fairly quiet hotel with a unbeatable view of the surrounding Alps. We had a room on the top floor with a bathroom and shower shared with 3 other rooms. It was not a problem but if we return we will get a private room with shower. The staff is very knowledgable and helpful in navigating the surrounding area. Breakfast was included and was quite varied and tasty. We found that the dinner which included a salad bar and a full meal was a bit expensive and we opted for some local options. We did order a a la carte dinner on night and it was very good.
