Breakfast is taken in an idyllic setting, facing the sea.
The pebble beach is tiny but the water is clear. On this island we go from beach to beach, they are so different and spectacular.
The rooms are spacious, the cleaning is top notch, everything works perfectly.
Excellent stay at the end of August, beginning of September.

The included breakfast looked lovely (buffet of cold foods - parties, cakes, breads, cheeses, meats, yogurt, cereals etc). We're not breakfast people, so we stuck to coffee, but have to say the lunches were delicious and really reasonably priced too - highly recommend the Greek salad, special pizza, and the tortillas.
The location is fantastic, right on the beach, it's peaceful and relaxing - choice of the pool or the sea. The sea was gorgeous, so warm, and loads of fish, but you do need sea shoes to get in.
There's plenty of local tavernas, we never had a bad meal, they do vary I'm price, but cater for everyone. All within walking distance.
The staff at the Porto Ligia were so lovely and friendly, we were made to feel very welcome.
Our only regret - we should have booked to stay longer!

The staff at the hotel are wonderful - always smiling and nothing was too much trouble - particular mentions to Kyrios who does SO much work in and around the breakfast/pool area, Fortis - the barman, Marieta - who ran the breakfast area and always had a smile on her face and, of course, the owner Sotiris. He is a fountain of knowledge about the local area so make sure to take advantage of this.
I would recommend paying extra for a sea view room as it's wonderful to wake up to, the sunrise is an incredible way to start your day. Breakfast is plentiful and fresh - homemade cakes are delicious and the Greek yoghurt and local honey were incredible.
There are lots of tavernas within walking distance along the seafront with wonderful views - our favourite was Ta Kanioria which we went to twice as the food was so good and the staff are lovely. Their homemade liqueur was superb - geranium, red wine, sugar and cinnamon!
We also really liked the vibe in The White (coffee and wine bar) - great spot with a wonderful view.
But our favourite place has to be The Art Bar - you have to visit while you are here. You arrive as a customer and leave as a friend. The owner Spiro is the best host and his motto is 'no one leaves sober' be prepared for the Tequila shots! Great music, pool table, darts board, comfy sofas - what's not to like? We would go back to Lefkada just to see Spiro again.
If you want to venture a little further there is a bus stop right outside the hotel which takes you into Lefkada, Nykiana and Nydri where there are lots more places to eat and you can get the ferry to Meganisi from Nydri which is worth a visit but mind the narrow roads if you're driving! Bus fare is 2 euros per person and it's a coach not a bus, so very comfortable.

Location of the hotel was perfect. Bus stop at end of road so easy to get to either nydri or lefkada. Loads of lovely tavernas within walking distance. Our fave was taverna seven islands...lovely walk along the walkway along the beach to get to it. We also hired a boat for the day from the marina in Lygia...€80. We went across to Meganisi which was fab and stopped at a couple of places for a dip! We had a scooter for the week which was a great way to explore the island. Lefkas has soooo many beautiful beaches and bays to explore with many many great tavernas so I would recommend getting out and about to explore. Hotel Porto Lygia is the perfect base to explore from and on the days when you just wanna chill, it has the best vista...beautiful pool and beach. Definitely planning another trip!
The best location so near the sea.
Beautiful views from sea view room
Some road noise and could see the road from our room but that is the only negative.
Rooms were kept spotless , clean towels every day and bed changed alternately
Free air con, pool towels and safe
Lovely helpful staff.
Excellent breakfast with fantastic choice of fresh fruit and other coke buffet items.
Amazing to sit on terrace watching the boats go by.
We tried three local tavernas which were all very good and used hire car for 12 nights to see the rest of the island.
Nidri was about 20 minutes drive away with 30 tavernas on sea front . We counted !
Loved that the sea had a lake feel in places.Swimming was brilliant all over the island.
Towards the end of June things started to get busier.
PROS : Spotlessly clean . Chambermaids amazing
Well designed hotel . Lovely location
Very good continental style breakfast
Very comfy beds and pillows
Enough sun beds for everyone
Snacks and drinks good value
Kitchen / bar and younger members of staff very friendly
Bus stops and tourist agency right outside hotel
Can walk to restaurants without going on road
CONS : Bathrooms need rethink . Shower too small and basin too big
Although younger staff very nice we thought the 2 older men on the desk were miserable on occasions
No help with luggage and couldn’t borrow a phone charger as I had brought the wrong one ( however shopkeepers in Nydri brilliant offering to charge mine if I couldn’t find one ….but I did )
TIPS : Rooms 210 to 214 have good views and are quiet
If you put your sunbeds on the beach by the trees to the right , you will get more shade later and less noise from the road
Thoroughly recommend the 7 islands boat trip ……..9 hours , 3 swim stops and over an hour in Fiskardo . £35 including lunch ….brilliant value . Boat very comfy .
Very easy to go the Lefkas town or Nydri in the evening where you have great choice of restaurants . Timetable at hotel . Flat fare 1 euro 60
