This small hotel is discreet in its size and nestles in this small gulf of Ligia de Lefkada. The staff are welcoming, and at reception always ready to help you and advise you.
Breakfast is taken in an idyllic setting, facing the sea.
The pebble beach is tiny but the water is clear. On this island we go from beach to beach, they are so different and spectacular.
The rooms are spacious, the cleaning is top notch, everything works perfectly.
Excellent stay at the end of August, beginning of September.

Just back from an amazing week at Porto Ligia Hotel. Our first stay but certainly won't be our last. Yes, the rooms are basic and the bathroom does have the dreaded shower curtain, but equally the rooms are spacious, have lots of storage, impeccably clean, really comfy beds, and the air con is included in the price.

The included breakfast looked lovely (buffet of cold foods - parties, cakes, breads, cheeses, meats, yogurt, cereals etc). We're not breakfast people, so we stuck to coffee, but have to say the lunches were delicious and really reasonably priced too - highly recommend the Greek salad, special pizza, and the tortillas.

The location is fantastic, right on the beach, it's peaceful and relaxing - choice of the pool or the sea. The sea was gorgeous, so warm, and loads of fish, but you do need sea shoes to get in.

There's plenty of local tavernas, we never had a bad meal, they do vary I'm price, but cater for everyone. All within walking distance.

The staff at the Porto Ligia were so lovely and friendly, we were made to feel very welcome.

Our only regret - we should have booked to stay longer!

A fabulous little hotel in a fantastic location. Classed as 3 star but worth more. Run by cousins Sotiris and Makis you're sure if a warm and friendly welcome nothing is too much trouble for them. The rest of the team are wonderful and helpful . The place is kept spotless. Rooms are light and airy. Well appointed with free air conditioning and room safe albeit you need steps to reach the safe. Towels changed daily and bed linen changed frequently Breakfast is fresh and tasty with a great selection and not a nod to a full English in sight. Special shout to Fotis who worked afternoon until midnight. Serviced all needs for drinks, snacks and sorted the sunbeds and external area.

Enjoyed our 5th visit as much as ever! This is a small, extremely comfortable and extremely clean simple hotel in a great position with a large grassy area between pool and small stony beach (swim shoes recommended) Loads of sunbeds available enabling you to select your preferred position. Breakfast is plentiful (no hot food) and constantly replenished. All the staff are lovely and extremely attentive, either Sotiris and Makis (the owners) are there all the time and will help with anything you need. Bus stops at end of drive - €1.60 to either Nidri or Lefkas Town for larger choice of eateries and shops. Easy flat walk to several local Tavernas - our favourite is Sto Limoni. The Pharmacy and a Gift shop are a 5 minute walk and the Supermarket about 10 minutes.

We found Lefkada and this hotel by accident and we are so glad we did! The hotel is in the perfect location with the bar right by the pool and the sea just a few steps away. There are plenty of sunbeds by the pool and on the beach and you can ask for beach towels every day if needed.

The staff at the hotel are wonderful - always smiling and nothing was too much trouble - particular mentions to Kyrios who does SO much work in and around the breakfast/pool area, Fortis - the barman, Marieta - who ran the breakfast area and always had a smile on her face and, of course, the owner Sotiris. He is a fountain of knowledge about the local area so make sure to take advantage of this.

I would recommend paying extra for a sea view room as it's wonderful to wake up to, the sunrise is an incredible way to start your day. Breakfast is plentiful and fresh - homemade cakes are delicious and the Greek yoghurt and local honey were incredible.

There are lots of tavernas within walking distance along the seafront with wonderful views - our favourite was Ta Kanioria which we went to twice as the food was so good and the staff are lovely. Their homemade liqueur was superb - geranium, red wine, sugar and cinnamon!

We also really liked the vibe in The White (coffee and wine bar) - great spot with a wonderful view.

But our favourite place has to be The Art Bar - you have to visit while you are here. You arrive as a customer and leave as a friend. The owner Spiro is the best host and his motto is 'no one leaves sober' be prepared for the Tequila shots! Great music, pool table, darts board, comfy sofas - what's not to like? We would go back to Lefkada just to see Spiro again.

If you want to venture a little further there is a bus stop right outside the hotel which takes you into Lefkada, Nykiana and Nydri where there are lots more places to eat and you can get the ferry to Meganisi from Nydri which is worth a visit but mind the narrow roads if you're driving! Bus fare is 2 euros per person and it's a coach not a bus, so very comfortable.

Our 2nd visit to Lefkas, our 1st to Porto Lygia. What a gem! 1st impressions when you walk into reception are wow! The view through to the pool and sea is fantastic. Hard to believe this is a 3 star hotel. Yes the rooms are fairly basic but they are spotlessly cleaned, daily and clean towels and bedding supplied regularly through the week. The shower was fab...shower curtain not so...but bearable! Handy fridge to keep drinks cool in and then enjoy them sat on the balcony overlooking the sea and mountains. My only criticism would be the noise from the road and from other balconies/rooms. I felt that you hear alot! Breakfast was beautiful and the quality of goods was fab. I did not miss a hot breakfast at all and it was so lovely sitting outside with that beautiful view.
Location of the hotel was perfect. Bus stop at end of road so easy to get to either nydri or lefkada. Loads of lovely tavernas within walking distance. Our fave was taverna seven islands...lovely walk along the walkway along the beach to get to it. We also hired a boat for the day from the marina in Lygia...€80. We went across to Meganisi which was fab and stopped at a couple of places for a dip! We had a scooter for the week which was a great way to explore the island. Lefkas has soooo many beautiful beaches and bays to explore with many many great tavernas so I would recommend getting out and about to explore. Hotel Porto Lygia is the perfect base to explore from and on the days when you just wanna chill, it has the best vista...beautiful pool and beach. Definitely planning another trip!

We visited for 3 weeks in September. This being our 4th stay and it won’t be our last . Family run hotel in the most idyllic location. All rooms have a balcony and are spotless with everything you need ( including a fridge). The hotel is set back a decent distance from the road so there is no traffic noise . Very good continental style breakfast. Local produce and excellent variety. You can also get various hot and cold dishes during the day and evening from the bar . The bar is well equipped and the prices are very reasonable. The owners Sotiris and Makis are there with the sole purpose of making your stay extremely enjoyable. Both they and the entire staff couldn’t be more helpful and friendly. If you want a relaxing break in an ideal location which is easily accessible to both Lefkas town and Nidri then this is the place for you . Enjoy!

We loved the hotel.
The best location so near the sea.
Beautiful views from sea view room
Some road noise and could see the road from our room but that is the only negative.
Rooms were kept spotless , clean towels every day and bed changed alternately
Free air con, pool towels and safe
Lovely helpful staff.
Excellent breakfast with fantastic choice of fresh fruit and other coke buffet items.
Amazing to sit on terrace watching the boats go by.
We tried three local tavernas which were all very good and used hire car for 12 nights to see the rest of the island.
Nidri was about 20 minutes drive away with 30 tavernas on sea front . We counted !
Loved that the sea had a lake feel in places.Swimming was brilliant all over the island.
Towards the end of June things started to get busier.

Had a very relaxing week here .
PROS : Spotlessly clean . Chambermaids amazing
Well designed hotel . Lovely location
Very good continental style breakfast
Very comfy beds and pillows
Enough sun beds for everyone
Snacks and drinks good value
Kitchen / bar and younger members of staff very friendly
Bus stops and tourist agency right outside hotel
Can walk to restaurants without going on road

CONS : Bathrooms need rethink . Shower too small and basin too big
Although younger staff very nice we thought the 2 older men on the desk were miserable on occasions
No help with luggage and couldn’t borrow a phone charger as I had brought the wrong one ( however shopkeepers in Nydri brilliant offering to charge mine if I couldn’t find one ….but I did )

TIPS : Rooms 210 to 214 have good views and are quiet
If you put your sunbeds on the beach by the trees to the right , you will get more shade later and less noise from the road
Thoroughly recommend the 7 islands boat trip ……..9 hours , 3 swim stops and over an hour in Fiskardo . £35 including lunch ….brilliant value . Boat very comfy .
Very easy to go the Lefkas town or Nydri in the evening where you have great choice of restaurants . Timetable at hotel . Flat fare 1 euro 60

We spent 11 wonderful days on our honeymoon here. It was perfect. We wanted a hotel on the beach so we could have lazy days. We came early in July when the hotel still was not full (early in the season). It was calm, the staff were all so nice and the food was good too. Fresh fruit or nuts with every drink we ordered. Everything was better than we could’ve imagined. There are restaurants in walking distance so you really don’t have to leave the area unless you want to go explore. We took taxi to some other areas a couple times but for the most part we just snorkeled and laid out at the hotel. We hope to come back soon!
