Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I attended a yoga retreat at Centro Punto de Luz which has an amazing vantage point in the hills overlooking Lake Vinuela. The single room with en suite shower I stayed in was small but it had everything you needed for the stay. The hosts, Betty and Richard were lovely. Richard cooked vegetarian foods throughout the stay and went the 'extra mile' to meet the dietary needs of individual guests. The swimming pool area and terrace was just lovely. Betty and Richard also offer a range of therapies to guests and I would certainly recommend a stay here if you need to unwind or de-stress.

I have attended two yoga retreats at Centro Punto de Luz. The hosts Richard and Betty are amazing people. The food is to die for and the ambiance is very welcoming and relaxing. The views of the mountains, lake, and the Mediterranean in the distance are lovely. If you're looking for a venue for a retreat or thinking of going on retreat here you can't go wrong!

I have been on a yoga retreat organised my 'Free Spirit Yoga' with Jana Czipin and it was fantastic. With a great view, and lovely hosts, Betty and Richard, offering a range of treatments and a very creative vegetarian cuisine, this is definitely a week to remember!

At Punto de Luz each vista whether from terrace, pool or dining area is truly spectacular. Yoga practice in the 'Yurt' whilst focusing over lake & mountain is spiritually uplifting, transporting one to an unearthly dimension. Each innovative dish served by Richard & Betty tingled the taste buds, freshly made to their own vegetarian/vegan/raw recipes. Comfortable beds, individual rooms, bath and beach towels provided. Relaxing pool area with 'ionic' water for invigorating swim. And when it cools down real log fire in the dining / relaxation common room. Local walk to flex quads and knees to Ventas de Zaffaraya takes about 1hr up and down hill. We'll all be back. (all 11 of us!).

This is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. Richard and Betty have created the absolute perfect retreat - with Richard's cooking and Betty's treatments. The individual rooms are the ultimate 'room of one's own' and are comfortable and with everything you need for your stay.

Being able to make tea or coffee at any time is and added bonus.

This was my fourth visit to the centre and I have to say it feels now like visiting friends...

If you're looking for a place to revitalise your spirit and nourish your soul... Go.

I have just spent a week practising yoga with 9 people plus our leader at this marvellous retreat, high in the hills behind Malaga. Richard and Betty were our hosts and they could not have looked after us more. The food and accommodation were excellent. I would recommend this location for any groups wanting sun, magnificent scenery, lovely food and, most of all, caring hosts. Nothing was too much trouble and as a first time retreater, I do not think anywhere else will match this venue/people. Definitely going back next year.

I went to Centro Punto de Luz 13-19th May 2013 in an organised retreat by 'Nutrition Rocks' who hired the venue for that time. As a group we went with our own amazing yoga teacher and dietician on the retreat as part of our yoga and nutrition wellness retreat and were in a group of 7 of mixed ages and yoga abilities.

The centre hosts, Betty and Richard deliver all that can be thought of as possible in as hosts of this amazing retreat venue. The food is second to none and their love for all that they do is inspirational, creating a relaxed and healing environment. The retreat has a beautiful, spacious elevated yoga platform on the mountain perfect for practise and sheltered canopy area for practise in the shade from the afternoon heat. The pool facilities and rooms are clean and fresh. The views and fresh air are endless. My sleep quality was excellent, my bed comfortable and the peace undisturbed.

Nutrition Rocks as the organiser of the retreat were exceptional in structuring a relaxed programme bespoke to the needs of the individual but also the group as a whole. I did not know the other people in the group prior to the retreat, but was made to feel instantly at ease and welcomed. Retreats can bring to the surface stressors of life and as I began to relax and identify them I felt naturally comforted by the group leader Hala that my needs and experiences were well understood and natural. The direct correlation between wellness and food/nutrition was an eye-opener. This short, but meaningful experience has made positive changes to my life and wellbeing for good. Leaving the retreat I felt refreshed, vitalised and empowered. There was pleasure also in meeting like-minded people. I have new energy that I now recognise has been missing in my daily life for some time. I would not hesitate to recommend a Nutrition Rocks retreat for enjoyment, nutrition wellbeing, yoga practise and re-energising your life.

I have spend a week in this wonderful place as a part of yoga retreat and been travelling around the world I must say this it the best place I have ever been so far. the surroundings are breathtaking, from every possible angle of this place, there is so many places to hide, seat, relax around the villa its almost surreal. the platform on the hill were we practised yoga I believe its magical as we've had cats coming up and down with us like they ve understood what we doing and what it means. looking at the trees , mountains and sunrise in the morning during yoga practise has been a memory that will always stuck in my head and going there every night just few minutes before 9pm to watch the sunset only wanted me to stay longer and never had to go back to my room.
the place is surrounded with fruit trees of every kind and grapevines. The pool area with the view over the lake and panorama of Malaga makes you wanting to stay around the pool all day and just look at the view. The food is the best I have ever eaten in my life and every mouthful of it feels like heaven. The rooms have everything you could possibly need and having sleep problems for many weeks prior coming completely changed that. Suddenly I could just fall asleep without any problems. Every night sitting by the pool and watching the stars it was like going to the planetarium. there is no words to describe how stunning it was. Sometimes I thought I am dreaming. Richard and Betty are amazing people who work hard to keep the place running and you have to be very talented to create a place of this kind. I can never thank them enough for their wonderful hospitality and always time for a little chat. I will cherish the memories of this vacation for the rest of my life. there is no words in an English dictionary which can possibly describe how magical this place is and excellent rate is just underrated. If you feel like you need a break to self discover yourself again and perhaps find a purpose in life again, this place will help you to find that and more.
