The hotel is without exception clean, all employees are very friendly and always help with any requests a guest may have. I find the location very pleasant, there is no noise on site as the hotel is a little set back from the main road, but if you walk about 15 minutes towards Lamai Beach you will come across hundreds of shops and restaurants. Tuk tuks are constantly driving past and honking so that you don't have to walk. It costs about 100-150 Baht, not much money, and they drive back and forth between 3-4 beaches. Just raise your hand and they will stop. The fact that the main pools are above the road is no problem at all. There are 2 employees on the road day and night and stop the traffic. It really is only a few meters to the sea. There are several really beautiful pools here that are above the sea, super beautiful. Lots of loungers, lounge furniture and umbrellas available. The beach is miles long, so you can walk for hours.

We absolutely loved our stay in this beautiful resort. It was a lovely little break away for myself and my boyfriend. We loved our room. We had a beautiful pool view from our balcony. The bed and pillows were just perfect 👌 we loved that there was so many different options at the buffet breakfast and the food was delicious! We loved the beach front pool and the restaurant did really good food. It was lovely to chill out on the sunbeds with a cocktail with a sea view. We loved the activities you could choose from, we did the Thai Muay Thai on the beach front and would highly recommend trying this one out 😀 Also loved the gym, it had cardio and weight machines so we could get a workout in. Theres a fire show on the beach every Friday and Saturday and you can’t miss this, it was brilliant! Overall we had a fantastic stay and we will definitely be back again, what a fabulous resort.

Thank you for the glowing review on your recent stay with us at Outrigger Koh Samui Beach Resort. It was an absolute pleasure to host you both. It was delightful to read that you enjoyed the views from your Superior Pool View Room. During our renovation last year, we purchased all new linen and towels to provide that cloud like sleep. Our activity schedule has a variety of activities including private Muay Thai classes with ex-Muay Thai champion Khun Pea. One can definitely stay active while holidaying with us! We can't wait to welcome you again when you are next travelling to Koh Samui. Until then, safe travels. Kindest Regards Leah Matters

Unfortunately our time at Outrigger was limited as we were only passing through Koh Samui, however we will definitely be returning in the future and staying here for longer.
We were welcomed at reception with the introduction to the hotel app, a convenient way to order items to your room and to book activities and treatments as well as making reservations at the hotel restaurant.
Our room was very modern and stylish which came with a JBL speaker I was able to connect to and feel right at home. The hotel had a colonial feel about it in terms of style which was grand with luscious gardens leading up to the main buffet and pool area.
There was a peaceful pool area inside the grounds of the main hotel with another pool, aimed more at families over the road at the hotel’s own private beach bar and restaurant.
The hotel offers a variety of activities throughout the day, every day, including: candle making, meditation, football and more! As well as a list of activities for children. On site is also a kids club and a games room featuring pool table, air hockey and table tennis as well as a gym and massage facilities.
The location was fantastic and only a 5 minute drive away or a 25 minute walk from the main Lamai beach area where we enjoyed cheap cocktails and excellent food.
As stated, we will definitely be returning here for longer next time so we can take full advantage of the facilities and activities that are on offer

Thank you for the glowing review with regards to your stay with us. I am honoured that your stay exceeded all of your expectations, what a compliment indeed! I am delighted to read that our colonial design, well appointed rooms and overall layout of the resort met with your expectations. Our pool area near Mala kitchen offers guests a more tranquil zone for guests whereas Edgewater is usually more popular with families and children. Thank you for also highlighting the number of activities and specialized events scheduled for our youngest guests which is often recognised via these forums. We are eagerly awaiting your return and longer stay with us at Outrigger Koh Samui Beach Resort. Kindest Regards Leah Matters

The hotel has a European spirit. Cleanliness excellent, food good but expensive. A service fee of 17% was added to the prices, which made for a nasty feeling. The air conditioning in the hotel room did not work properly. The air conditioning blew cool but did not dry the air. All the clothes were damp. We spoke about it, but there was no change in the situation. I missed being in the room because of this. The breakfast was great. There was everything you could wish for. The chef conjured up an egg to your liking very quickly. The pool area is nice, but if you are visiting with children, don't go here. The sea was dirty and unfit for swimming near the hotel. If you're looking for some paradise with a local twist, this is not the place. The hotel is a bit of a nook and a package tour with a minimalist style. The downside was that you couldn't rent a scooter from the hotel.

The hotel impresses with its staff who are always smiling, friendly and professional. Their helpfulness was unrivalled and made the stay memorable. The staff is 100% 5 star, so cute and amazing.
The hotel itself is beautiful and modern with a fantastic breakfast buffet, which was of very high standard. The location is ideal, with plenty of opportunities for activities and experiences in the area.
The food at the hotel can also be definitely recommended it tastes super good and at approximately hotel prices.
The beach is unmarked and Silver Beach and Lamai Beach are close.
Con’s
Unfortunately, poor cleaning in the first room pulled the experience down. Fair enough if the room has not been used for a long time, but make sure it is ready for guests. The room beds had many small living insects in the bed, which created great concern – especially because we feared it was bedbugs. Fortunately it was my girlfriend who was allowed to sleep with them :-)..
The reception responded with offers to do clean, but we did not want it, as we just wanted a new room as soon as possible, and after a little dialogue was moved to another room.
The next day it required a lot of “work” in communicating with management, and not something one wants on a holiday. We were compensated for one night and received a few pieces of fruit as an excuse. Unfortunately, in order to get the money back, I also had to spend an hour finding various bank details in order for the transfer to be successful. (Having received the receipt for the transfer, and therefore in parentheses)
However, it required a lot of dialogue with one of the hotel’s managers to get the situation resolved satisfactorily. Fortunately, the manager could reassure us that it wasn’t bedbugs because she had experience with bedbugs from another outrigger hotel. It significantly eased our worries, but the experience was still unpleasant.
We had previously stayed at Outrigger Surin in Phuket, which was a sublime experience. Unfortunately, this made the comparison inevitable, and Outrigger Koh Samui did not live up to the high standard we experienced there.
Outrigger Koh Samui is a beautiful hotel with excellent staff and excellent facilities, but lacks the attention to detail and cleaning that is expected at this level. Had the cleaning been at the top, and the communication with the management a little more smooth, we would undoubtedly have given the hotel 5 stars.

An average resort, amenity orders took more than an hour to be delivered to the room and this was simple stuff like a bucket of ice or clean towels. The food was good but service at the Edgewater restaurant is very slow, they can definitely improve on it, it took more than 20 minutes to get 2 glasses of wine after having ordered, this happened regularly to most other orders. They need to employ more waiters to maybe solve this problem. I get the sense that because we booked a package deal through Luxury Escapes we were not treated like full paying guests, which is sad. The Wednesday buffet with fire show was great the food was good, the mains were a little dry however. Other than that it was ok.

First time guest at an Outrigger branded hotel through a 10 night package deal which incorporated breakfast, dinner, free flow cocktails for 2 hours and a 90 minute massage. The hotel architecture is colonial style (just beautiful) and well maintained. We took advantage of the gym on numerous occasions which was always clean, organised with complimentary towels and filtered water. Daily breakfast was satisfactory and can definitely recommend an omelette from Chef Parn. Dinner at Edgewater was very good with a huge menu to select from and a fantastic barbeque buffet and fire show on Saturday evening. Staff throughout the hotel are very friendly, accommodating and go out of their way to make your stay special. Our room was spotless, daily water supplied with internet speed acceptable. The only minor gripe we had was the firmness of the beds and pillows .... just too hard for those side sleepers out there. Overall we had a fantastic stay at Koh Samui and we will definitely be back again .... what a fabulous resort 😊

It has a nice colonial look at reception and in the rooms. However, many corners seem to have been cut in its ‘recent renovation’. Everything is mediocre, from amenities to service. The rooms, especially the bathroom feel very cramped (not enough space for more than one person in the bathroom).
The breakfast buffet is limited, even in terms of local fruits, which is a shame. It is chaotic with staff scurrying frantically, trying to do their best with the limited resources they have. The whole area smells of the fried food counter all day, even when the restaurant is not open. You notice this because you have to walk through it to get to the 2nd and 3rd floors. The hotel does not feel relaxing, serene or hygienic due to this. The gym is small, made to look bigger with the mirrors but when you get there you realise it is half the size it may seem at first.
General service levels are below standard in terms of attentiveness and courteous attitude. Despite some of the difficult to change aspects (e.g. size of bathroom), the hotel could offer much better value if the management was more customer centric.
Across the road the edgwater area is better and has a more relaxing feel. However, the service there is way below standards expected in this part of the world, particularly from the manager, Michael. The beach is very small and narrow, there is very little space left after the tables and chairs for edgwater.
Overall, we made the most of our time there but would not return to this hotel. We have stayed in Outrigger Mauritius before and it was a world apart from this one, especially in terms of service, ambiance and atmosphere.

Thank you Mrs Shah for your time in writing and sharing your personal stay expectations via this forum. Thank you also for allowing us to address your concerns here. First, it certainly was disappointing to read that we failed to meet your expectations. Our Superior Rooms are indeed our smallest room at 32msq including the balcony, which I understood posed a challenge for you and your daughter. Our Suites at 70sm2 would have provided you both with more space for your stay however I do understand that budget needs to be taken into consideration. Please accept my sincerest apologies for Michael's mannerisms. I have addressed this matter with him to ensure he deals with this matter in a more professional way. In saying this, please do allow me to reconfirm that we do not permit outside food and beverage at our Edgewater Beach Club which I am sure you would agree is a world wide practice in restaurants and beach clubs. It is disappointing that despite signage at the entrance and notifications via our digital resort application, our staff including Michael have to continually ask guests to respect our policies. It was most disappointing that you did not share the above with us to allow us the opportunity to address and resolve. We do hope that we may have the opportunity to welcome you again for a stay longer than one night. Kindest Regards Leah Matters

Really lovely place. Beautifully maintained. Housekeeping girls did a great job. Beds very comfortable and air con worked very well in the heat. Breakfast choices great. If you can't find anything you like there is something wrong with you. We went on a luxury escapes package and there was no drop in standard because of that. The twin room was not available as requested but this was not Outriggers fault. Special mention to Karwee who seemed to be at every meal we were at. He offered suggestions and booked tables and always bought the cocktails at an amazing pace - specially when happy hour was finishing. My only critisism was that the price of the alcoholic beverages was very high. That didn't turn out to be too big a problem as we walked down the beach (or road depending on the tide) to the New Hut Restaurant & Bar. Drinks there were amazing. I would definitely return. The location is a small distance from the main part of Lamar but taxis there are cheap.

Perfect family resort! I booked directly at the resort website and became a club member. It gave us benefits and a great offer. Perfect value for money.
Our room, the lamai suite, was amazing and beautifully decorated. In the same style as the resort. Impressive. The pools at the beach are so nice, the beach is fantastic, the food in the beach restaurant is really good, service is good, pool at the breakfast restaurant (mala) is nice as well. After breakfast our kids jumped directly in the pool. Breakfast is good. Great cook who cooks delicious eggs on request with fantastic service.
We slept in our room with three kids. We do not like to book two seperate rooms. Our kids (4,7,10) slept in one bed which was seperated from our “room”/bed by a sliding door. So enough privacy when kids were at sleep. Fresh water provides daily, cleaning daily, plus as a member we could visit the voyager club which was perfect for us. We enjoyed free cocktails, coffee, tea, other beverages and small bites there.
We booked half board. Never did that before, but it was perfect. Great choice at edgewater restaurant and we could choose between either lunch or dinner. Miss the great food already. Kids loved it Too.
Good service (not everyday was perfect, but that if fine for us), good food, Lovely resort, nice swimming pools and beach. The slide is pretty tiny. Do not expect a huge slide.
By the way: the kids club is nice, games room too and optional laser gaming experience was great.

Thank you kindly for the 5 star review and for sharing your holiday memories with other travellers here! Your feedback is sincerely welcomed and appreciated. Our Lamai suite can comfortably accommodate families due to its' spacious setting including fold out double sofa bed or L shape lounge in addition to a rollaway bed or cot for little ones. Our Mala kitchen is situated in front of our resort side swimming pool which allows parents the ability to finish their breakfast and or enjoy that second cup of coffee whilst watching their children swim and play in the pool. Alternatively, one can cross the main road to our Edgewater Beach Club to enjoy four swimming pools, children's waterslide, massage salas, restaurant and bar. Thank you for highlighting our meals at Edgewater and for choosing to purchase our half board meal package. I can't wait to share your glowing feedback with our Executive Chef Din and his team. Hi, I did not hire a scooter when I was there, so I can’t recommend any place. As for restaurants - you might find this “weird”, but we dined at the resort every night. Dinner was included in our rate, and they had a great menu so we didn’t feel a need to explore restaurants outside the resort.
