Detailed Reviews
If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Playa Santiago then I would definitely recommend the Tapahuga apartments. From the welcome fruit basket to the free lemons and Apples the apartments are a delight. They are very clean and the cleaning staff are lovely. A sea view apartment is a must allowing you to watch the comings and goings of the harbour and to watch the sun come out of the sea every morning. The sun area with pool is fab! Yes the sun goes behind the hill at 5pm but if you're been out in it all day then it's no problem. Simply walk to the beach bar and you have sun again. Be aware that twice a year a digger clears the beach if pebbles, only lasts two days and is really not a problem, walk to the other end of the beach and you can't hear it. The construction work on the front is completed now and it is lovely....fab place to sit with a beer or have a meal. The apartments are really well kitted out, very comfy beds, very quiet at night and spacious. The kitchenette has two rings and a microwaves, more than enough. The balcony is just lovely and Santiago is a quiet peaceful community where we have found many new local friends. Have booked again for next year, can't wait!

We booked this at the last minute and what a pleasant surprise we had . Large spacious immaculately clean apartment . The kitchen area is well equipped and the balcony spacious and a lovely place to sit and enjoy a coffee , breakfast or lunch . The position right on the seafront with several restaurants within a couple of hundred metres is just perfect. We had a mountain view apartment and which was great . We would probably book a sea view room in future although the mountain view is very pleasant. The roof terrace is this properties piece de resistance, it is large overlooking the sea and beach has a small pool and lots of comfortable sun-beds. Great find , very reasonably priced , friendly helpful staff . The perfect place for a relaxing break in a beautiful village

The apartment was clean comfortable and reasonably stocked for my wife, who enjoys cooking. The location and view were great. But what these people did for us was what sets them apart
Our 5:00 PM flight from N Tenerife to La Gomera was cancelled due to winds. The airline bundled us on a bus to Los Christianos and the ferry over to La Gomera, thence by bus to the local airport. Tapahugas reception closed at 8, as did the airport. But Yesica, on duty that night, stayed connected with us on the phone, organized a taxi to pick us up at the (closed) airport then came back to work at 11 PM to check us in. This was a very big and much appreciated extra effort from her.
Then, in a moment of brainlessness, I left my iphone in the room. By the time I realized, we were on the ferry heading back to Tenerife to fly home. Once again the Tapahugas staff rose to the occasion. There were some issues getting a phone shipped but now it is on the way back to me, quickly and at a very low cost.
I have been traveling the world for 50 years, and I can tell you, these people are the very best

We spent a week of our stay in La Gomera at these apartments. We had a sea view, and whilst there was the last vestiges of the sea front rebuilding work ongoing, this did not spoil our stay. The apartments are well equipped, are cleaned everyday very thoroughly and towels etc changed twice a week. Yes there may be rules on no guests to visit etc, but this is for the safety and security of the residents. The roof sun area and pool were very clean and an abundance of chairs and loungers. Would certainly use again .

The receptionists were very nice and helpful, the apartment was very spacious, very modern with everything you need for a comfortable stay. I had to ask for a hairdryer at the reception, but got one immediately. The best part is the large roof terrasse, with a beautiful view, and where small groups of sun beds are separated by many green plants to provide an intimate atmosphere. Absolutely lovely. The only desappointing thing was the swimming pool. It was not heated, and in February, the water was freezing. But otherwise, I will definitely come back!

We loved our stay at Tapahuga! The ladies at reception are very friendly and helpful. Also the cleaning ladies. The apartment was very clean and comfortable, magnificent view. Very quiet. Nice bathroom. The pool area on roof is spacious and quiet. Comfortable sunbeds. We didnt use the pool. The beach outside is rocky, very nice for swimming but you need to be a good swimmer as the waves are high and there is some current.

We stayed here for 3 nights. We had a large apartment (living room/kitchen, bedroom, bathroom) for 50 euros a night. The building is smart - wooden balconies and marble floors. It is at the far end of the Avenida Maritima overlooking the port, so there is little traffic and we could park right outside. We had a balcony with a mountain view and our bedroom faced into an internal patio, so it was extremely quiet at night. A large rooftop swimming pool. Excellent restaurant (La Cuevita) occupying a natural cave a few steps away. Plenty of shops and restaurants within a few minutes' walk.

+1
Very good hotel, however improvement works are on-going on the avenue in 2018, resulting in lot of noise, preventing enjoying the ocean vue of ocean side apartments.
Those apartments should be avoided as long as works are on-going - scheduled for 12 months! Unfortunately, the owner did not let us know when we booked! Has we know, we would not have stayed at the hotel.

We never go back to places we love, but these apartments have proved to be the exception to the rule. This was our 6th time to La Gomera and our 5th time to these apartments.
We love La Gomera, it's like going back in time, the pace of life is wonderful, people are so friendly and we know we can relax here.
These apartments have always been very comfortable, but this year we had a lovely surprise as the apartment we stayed in had been refurbished and all sorts of extras added. I think other people have mentioned the kitchen stuff, but the mattress and pillows are also worth mentioning as they are new and so comfortable.
I also have to mention the staff, they were all so friendly and cheerful, the rooms were spotless and (I am really sorry but I never found out your name) but the lady on reception was fantastic and went above and beyond her duty I am sure to help us. Thank you so much.
Here's to the 6th time!

We returned to these apartments after nearly 19 years but the charm has remained. The roads are better these days, including the road signs!
The apartment, 114, overlooking the fishing harbour was lovely. The apartment block in general was very quiet and as the weather was so warm, we were able to sleep with the balcony doors open, listening to the waves on the beach. On the last night we had noisy neighbours arrive and their cigarette smoke blew into our apartment so we had to close the doors.
There is no english tv or wifi which is actually rather nice, it made us relax more and take in our surroundings. It was great watching the fishermans catch being unloaded each day and even better to taste in the restaurants in the evenings.
Santiago is not for those looking for plenty of night life, its very relaxing with great walks, spectacular scenery, great eateries and the most amazing gin and tonics!
Tapahuga apartments are perfectly located in the village for all amenities, their staff were very helpful and friendly and we have just booked to go again as it was so enjoyable.

Wi-Fi is available throughout the apartments with separate Wi-Fi codes for each apartment floor including the roof terrace - I could always find a signal no matter where I was in the building
There was aircon in both the rooms I looked at as well as the one I stayed in - so I'd assume its all rooms - but worth asking, they were very professional and quick in answering the queries I had
Pues no lo se Mejor llame y pregunte en recepción las chicas. Son muy amables
