Detailed Reviews
My wife and I spent 9 nights in these comfortable apartments in October. We wanted a spacious apartment which is certainly what we got. Well equipped and clean, our accommodation offered a lovely view of the coastal environ from our balcony/terrace. When not out walking, we spent many hours there taking in the vista, painting, reading , relaxing in the sun and enjoying the peaceful ambience.
Playa Santiago ( 8 mins walk from the apart) is a quiet unspoiled resort. Life centres on the harbour and plaza and there are a number of decent bars and restaurants along the promenade. We tried all the restaurants and would particularly recommend Don Tomate (consistently good) and Jujonia where the sea food and steaks were good although too heavily salted on occasions.
La Gomera is a stunningly beautiful little island. If you are after the type of beach holiday offered by Teneriffe and the larger islands it would be wise to avoid it. There are very few of the usual tourist trappings instead you will find a paradise for the serious (and not so serious) walker. Many of the walking trails are accessible either directly from Santiago or by bus. We chose to explore the island using public transport ( do enough driving at home) and found the bus service pretty reliable. Although San Sebastian would probably make a better base for exploring the island by bus ( all routes go there), we managed to get around very well and preferred the feel of Santiago. We thought we were pretty good walkers but some of the trails we took were challenging enough for us oldies. We would particulary recommend visiting Imada, a beautiful village high up in the mountains and walking from/ to there. Be warned that the cafe/bar is closed on Fridays as we found out having walked from Las Toscas anticipating a beer and food only to be disappointed.
We will definitely return and will choose the same apartments and base again.

We came to Bellavista the first time on account of Tripadvisor reviews. We liked it a lot and came back for a second stay. I was surprised to later find that some reviewers had many complaints. Did they expect a 5-star hotel for under 60 Euro a night?
Our second apartment was bigger than the first. Like the first, it was clean, and everything worked. There was a nice balcony overlooking the ocean. It was hassle free (Liz, Elena & John are great); light and airy, and the bed was comfortable. We had great Internet connection—strong enough to stream—and had all the utensils needed to cook a meal. Also, there was plenty of hot water and a nice shower. It is only a few minutes walk to the center of town/beach—a PERFECT place to spend a few sunny days. We highly recommend these apartments—unless the ‘4-Seasons’ (first class hotel) is what you are looking for.

We stayed here in October, and rate the apartments highly. The accommodation is spacious, clean and well equipped. The owners and staff were very helpful and friendly, and responded quickly to emails. The apartment had a good kitchen, and a great balcony, where you can see the sea past the banana plantations. It was lovely to sit out there. The bed and sofa were both very comfortable. The location is quiet, and a flat walk to the shops and bars, we ate out one night and it was very good.

Nice people running these apartments, but I can't recommend this place. We had an apartment overlooking a side road and a roof with only a partial view to the sea. We had our own entrance but the rooms in our apartment were small, although the kitchen was well-equipped and the beds comfortable. A dog barked almost all the time we were there, and the sound carried from the fields. It's a good 10 minute walk to the main part of the village and beach. Maybe other rooms in the Bellavista are better, but we weren't happy with ours. Sorry.

Our family (two retirees and our grown up daughter) have stayed in one of the second floor two bedroom apartments on several occasions over the last ten years and we have never been disappointed. The service and value for money are unbeatable in our view. For a quiet, relaxing holiday in the sun this will take some beating. Liz, Elena and John are a great team and have always gone out of their way to ensure we have the best possible experience. This year was not our first visit and is unlikely to be our last.

Stayed here for a week as a base fro walking in La Gomera. We had a studio on 4th floor, which meant we had our own entrance to the street. It was very well furnished, spotless and equipped well enough. it was the middle week of a 3 week holiday with 1st and 2nd in hotels so we self catered every night. there was a very large terrace with views over the town and out to sea. The terrace had table/chairs/sunloungers to enjoy. The English owners and their Irish helper were extremely friendly and offered ideas for walking, eating etc. Parking is in a road below the apartments and an uphill walk to the door. It is not an ideal location for anyone with mobility issues. The walk into 'town' is about 10-15 minutes where there is a range of bars, restaurants and supermarkets. Overall an good choice and I can understand why they have a large number of repeat visitors.

Visited here with my boyfriend and parents, it is a fabulous equipped apartment, gorgeous views, very quiet and very comfortable. 5 min walk to the "centre" (very quiet), had my best hiking experience here. Good restaurants and a very relaxed feel.

Our stay on La Gomera has been enhanced with our choice of accommodation.
Apartmentos BellaVista lives up to its name. The mountain view, the sound and sight of the sea are just breathtaking.
The apartment itself is very spacious and clean, the terrace has 2 loungers and a table and 4 chairs, the terrace as a perfect sun trap. The local shops, bars and restaurants are all within easy walking distance, the closest mini market stocks all the essentials and is run by a very friendly gentleman.
I think the terrace is well worth the small extra you pay, we have spent a lot of time out on it already.

Location is superb in a quiet lane about 7-8mins walk down to the village centre, which serves as a good work-out after all the delicious meals. We enjoyed the spacious and very clean unit, with a large terrace where we could soak up the sun. We did not meet the owners, but Elena was very helpful and friendly before and during our stay (ie. making restaurant bookings). We would come back and also recommend our friends to book there!

Only here for two nights ( did 4 nights in Valle Gran Rey and were on our way to 2 nights in San Sebastian) but a very nice, comfortable and friendly place to stay it was. No hesitation staying here again.
