Detailed Reviews
Monforte d'Alba is a beautiful medieval village on top of a hill overlooking the rolling vineyard in the heart of the barolo country. Villa Beccaris is located at the highest area in Monforte and has a beautiful ground with a nice pool and sitting area surrounding it. The breakfast area has breathtaking view over the Langhi vineyard landscape. Hotel staff are very friendly and knowledgable about the surrounding area. They made great recommendations on restaurants nearby that were spot on and helped to make reservations. Breakfast is nice with a lot of great choices. Parking is free in the secured garage, which is a nice feature.
The reason one star was taken away is because: 1) the small size of the shower and that the rooms were small and relatively dark. These are due to the limitation of the original building and may not be changed easily. 2) there is no elevator, and one has to lift the luggage up the stairs. 3) The sound insulation was non-existing. You could hear kids talking and people making phone calls clearlyin the hallway and in the next rooms. Luckily, most people were quiet and went to bed relatively early in the night.

The hotel is set in a scene of breathtaking beauty and the pool and other common areas are designed to help you enjoy the views wherever you may be. We stayed in the deluxe rooms and they were very well appointed with attention to the sorts of details that matter to travelers. The breakfast was wonderful and the service by the staff was always friendly and helpful despite our inability to speak Italian. Along with our group of 5 other couples, we were already extremely impressed when the front desk went above and beyond, to help me track down my luggage that had gotten inexplicably delayed in customs. They even helped to arrange for its shipment back to me. I would be delighted to return to this hotel.

Great location at the top of Monforte village. The views from the breakfast room and terraces are breathtaking. Staff is extremally attentative and takes care of you all the time. High quality facillities. Whether you are in the tasting room, garage or by the pool it is always near perfect. We strongly suggest the place and will be back for sure.

I can't say enough good things about the staff, service level and hospitality at the Hotel Villa Beccaris. My wife and I were there to celebrate the wedding of two dear friends from Denver and we were a "lively" group to put it modestly. The staff at the hotel didn't miss a beat - they were exceedingly accommodating and patient with a demanding group.
The hotel itself is lovely - an ideal location in one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. We enjoyed their pool, had a gorgeous wedding ceremony on site, stayed up late in the courtyard, breaking bread and drinking wine. The rooms were well-appointed, large enough and although the property is overflowing with historic charm, it had all of the modern amenities that even the most demanding guest could ever expect. If you are so lucky to be in Barolo country, please consider a stay at the Hotel Villa Beccaris.

We splashed out for a 3 night stay in one of their suites and were not disappointed. Very comfortable, spacious rooms traditionally decorated. Bathrooms perhaps a little underwhelming but clean and functional. The public areas were immaculate and the infinity pool an Instagramers dream, with views over the plains to the Alps beyond. The breakfast room is notable and food was delicious; the staff responsive and courteous. We really loved this hotel and the town.

We spent 3 nights in a deluxe room at the Villa Beccaris and enjoyed it very much. The room was a bit small (and we have small suitcases) but the view was stunning, the bathroom was very large and very modern, it was cool, quiet and easy to sleep. The glass conservatory/breakfast room is stunning - a nearly 360 degree view while you eat a very elaborate breakfast buffet or have coffee, drinks etc. There are also outdoor places to sit and enjoy the view. It's an easy walk into the delightful village for drinks, shops or other restaurant options. It offers a nice mix of feeling like you're in countryside but having a village close at hand.

Villa Beccaris had some pluses, but overall we wouldn’t choose to go back. The biggest plus was the location: the hotel grounds and breakfast room look out over a panorama of Barolo vineyards; it was a quick walk to good restaurants in town; and we could even walk to a local winery we had scoped out for a tasting (30 minutes along country roads). The staff were friendly too. And the breakfast buffet was good.
The drawback for us was the room. We got the suite (I think there’s only one), which we figured would be the best room on the property. The first thing we noticed was that it smelled old. I’m not sure if it was mustiness, or dust, or some air freshener that we associate with old houses, but it didn’t smell good to us. Fortunately we could open the windows. The smell returned if we left the windows closed for a while, though.
The suite was large, but most of it was a sitting area that wasn’t very useful. The bathroom was small. The furnishings were in an antique style that could have been charming, but things didn’t seem harmonious or well laid-out. And the bed was extremely firm; we didn’t sleep comfortably. All in all, we wouldn’t go back unless there’s a major renovation.

This is a one of a kind place. Drop-dead gorgeous with spectacular views. It is calm, quiet and refined. Out of five locations at which we stayed through Central and Northern Italy, this is the one the we did not want to leave. The photos on the website do not do it justice. It is an easy walk into the town of Montforte and an easy drive to Barolo. The large garage makes it easy to travel by car. Of all of the accommodations at which I've stayed over 30+ years, this is my favorite. The service was impeccable as was the breakfast with nearly 360 degree views of the Nebbiolo vineyards. It is truly a very special place.

Up at the top of the hill sits this old world style Villa that will take you back to another time. We loved our experience here. We were having a really bad experience in Asti. We contacted Villa Beccaris to see if we could add a day, they replied right away and even arranged the car to come and rescue us…we are very grateful for the saved day! The room was large, older style room. The shower was a stand up shower, but very small. The room was clean and well appointed. We loved sitting in the old world courtyard to sip some wine in the afternoon before dinner. We LOVED the pool and the AMAZING view from many parts of the property, including the pool. You can’t beat the experience of sitting in an infinity pool and looking over a medieval town and the expansive landscape of rolling hills and vineyards. The town is very hilly, so be prepared for uphill walks, but there were great restaurants and enotecas within easy walking distance (ask the hotel to book you a dinner at Moda!). Great breakfast in the morning with plenty of hot and cold choices. One of our best experiences on the trip!

From the booking process to our departure we had wonderful kind attention from everyone. The hotel has spectacular views over 150 km in all directions ,yet is very close to thee heart of the village . Our only niggle was the uncomfortable bed /pillows and tiny shower ! All in all a wonderful stay .will be back soon! Grazie

Not sure of the breakfast cost. I would just email hotel. It's a buffet style breakfast at the Hotel.. There are a few places in the center of town. It's about a 1/4 mile away and down a very steep hill.. Good walk for lunch which will cost between 20 to 40 euros for both.
I was a guest. Do not do booking.
