What a find!!!! We had no reservations in Monforte Di Alba and stumbled upon this historical gem!!!! A beautiful petite 12th century villa carved into the mountain hillside. We had a single room which was enormous, beautifully furnished with antiques and high end linens, robe and toiletries, and it was fully stocked for with snacks, light breakfast and cafe lattes. Thick walls enhanced the beauty, privacy and quiet!!! Our room on the main floor had a door out of the bathroom to the pool! We will enjoy a swim when we return in the summer! Beautiful spiral staircase outside leads to the sun deck and lounge on top floor for awesome panoramic views. Allesandra was our hostess and was adorable and super helpful with information regarding wine tasting and the area. No car parking, but we found a place within walking distance. Just make sure you have rolling suitcases. Area is quite hilly, so bring walking shoes. Allesandra's family winery is a must visit. Her father Silvio is a delightful, knowledgeable, Barolo wine maker and their winery is beautiful. You totally feel like a local staying here! This is a foodie mecca, make sure to make reservations for dinners in advance - restaurants book up quickly and are often sold out. Make sure to spend time in the amphitheater above for great views and people watching.

Well-kept and welcoming structure in a splendid location.
All carefully furnished and very clean.
Located in the highest part of Monforte, if you have heavy luggage, you need to be well informed about how to approach it by car, at least to unload it, as otherwise you will have to make a really demanding climb on foot.

I have now stayed here twice over the past 2 weeks and all i can say is everything about the hotel is fantastic. the location is perfect in the centre of the old town, the rooms are all beautiful, and the manager, Milly, who looked after us was always incredibly helpful and very professional throughout both stays- she made our stay really perfect! This is a newly refurbished property which has recently re-opened, and i recommend anyone travelling to the area to stay here. Also the value for money compared to other hotels is excellent as you effectively get a mini-apartment with kitchen and dining area, and a fridge stocked with all you need. We will return as much as possible, and cannot wait until our next visit!!

Although they present themselves as a “hotel”, the dimora offers NO services - no maid service, no breakfast (other than a basket of crackers and a kettle), no reception, no soap or clean towels after the first day. We had very delayed help with bags and check in. Because this is a historic district there is no parking. We had to wait a couple of hours before anyone responded on What’s App to tell us whereto park. Although the website offered “breakfast “ the gentleman who finally checked us in pointed to a basket of crackers and a kettle for “breakfast”. You can also get breakfast at a nearby hotel for 20e/person (although the website promised breakfast with the stay). Finally when we were ready to check out, we sent a what’s app message asking for help with our bags and didn’t get a response for 5 or 6 hours. When the response finally came, he said (begrudgingly) well I can help you but you are interrupting my harvest!

Their rates are comparable to a hotel, but place is really an Airbnb minus the kitchen, the service and most basic amenities. Enjoy this beautiful village, but book somewhere else!

We had a room/apartment on the ground floor. when we entered this room,i couldn't believe what i saw, really. I'm 1.74cm height,if you go to the bedroom, and you're 1.76,than you can't stand straight without hittin' your head. It's a very claustrophobic feeling.

We have had the most wonderful long weekend in Montforte d'Alba. Dimora i Manichei is just amazing, luxury and perfect place to stay. We enjoyed wine tasting in the neighborhood. We visited Silvano Bolmidas Winery, Franco Conterno Winery and Mauro Sebaste Winery, three different and good experiences. We also recommend a trip to Alba city and visit the Pizzeria Cincilla, authentic and very good pizza! Thank you Milly, Dimora i Manichei on-site manager. We have nothing but good memories from this fabulous stay.

Perfect little room in one of the best villages in the area.
It was lovely to have somewhere that gave you the best of both worlds... the feeling of having your own little flat whilst being looked after.
The room was fully serviced twice a day and we had the choice of having breakfast brought to our room (breakfast basket from the local bakery), make our own or go to Villa Beccaris for breakfast (which always offers a great selection and lovely staff).
Milly was absolutely amazing, on hand to help us with whatever we needed and always so happy and friendly!
Location is perfect with great views of the area from the sun terrace and just a couple of minutes stroll from a couple of great restaurants and bars.
Parking was always available. Bed was extremely comfortable. Wifi worked perfectly. Nice, powerful shower. Very clean. Good wardrobe space.... the list goes on.
I'll definitely be going back and recommending it to people i know!

This was our third time staying at Dimora I Manichei. The location is great and they have a "suite" that is very small and rustic but pretty good compared to other alternatives in the area. The accommodations are rather spartan.

Unfortunately, a Norwegian group bought the property and changed management. It is no longer affiliated with the Becaris Hotel, and the changeover was not positive. "Clean" should not be a room amenity. And friendly, helpful service should be available with a smile.

Our stone floor in half the suite (kitchen breakfast nook and rest area) was very sticky. They made the bed daily, but never emptied the trash! It was a major battle to get a couple extra towels and an unpleasant discussion to get a fan (they only have a 2 pipe system so there was no cooling on the rather hot days we were there.

We will look for other accomodations on our next trip to the area.

We were there for our honeymoon and Yes-it is superromantic! But it is not so Romantic being told you have to be out of the room before 10- If not They won’t make up the bed or give you new towels. After weeks of stress, it would have been good to sleep in. And there is no Breakfast. Just some crackers. So on a honeymoon comfort is essential, not only the room itself.
Dirty pool, small bathroom, the rest was Very charming. Not sure If we’d reccomrmd this place.
