Detailed Reviews
We stayed here for 2 nights in April and were beyond happy with our visit. Although it was Easter Sunday, Torricella still had their restaurant open, and accommodated us with a private wine tour when we arrived. This was our first time meeting Oscar, and we were beyond impressed with his hospitality, devotion to his family and wine. We did not realize how amazing Oscar truly was until later in our trip. Oscar was beyond gracious with our wine tasting and helped us learn about their agriturismo and local area. We were in love with the property - rolling hills with amazing views everywhere - and centrally located to make day trips to all the small towns close by -- and their wine!! It was delicious - especially their Barolo!
We were very sad that we only devoted 2 nights and days to our trip and wish we could have extended it further. It was not until we arrived at MXP airport (approx. 2 hours away) did we realize how gracious, kind, compassionate, and truly wonderful Oscar is. We had a great deal of difficulty with Alitalia and checking in our box of wine onto the plane. Having travelled abroad to different countries before, we are accustomed to the procedures and have not had difficult checking in properly packaged wine. Long story short, Alitalia refused to let our box onto their plane. Not knowing what to do, we called Oscar. He arranged for our box to be held in storage, came to pick up (drove 2 hours each way!), and then shipped it home to us. We could not be more grateful, for such a kind and considerate person to have done this for us. This truly would not be done in other places. La Torricella is a family run business, who treat their guests like family. We will be sure to be back. We couldn't be more thankful and have had a more memorable experience while we were there.

We had a too short two night stay! And already tried to book our second stay, but unfortunately all booked in July on the dates we preferred..
La Torricella is a wonderful place with great atmosphere, fantastic views of the surrounding wine fields, very nice rooms, fabulous food and not the least very nice people!
We were offered a free tour of the wine cellar with wine tasting. A very nice experience from an enthusiatic young man explaining all the exiting details of the winemaking and very tasty wines! After that a fantastic dinner which is a visit worth in it self.
Absolutely a place to recommend.

We stayed as a couple here in 2015. The service was unbelievable. It is family run and very personal in terms of service.
The rooms are wonderful. We had a suite with a queen size bed and bathroom. Breakfast provided every day was outstanding. The view with the infinity pool and the setting with the surrounding Vineyards is idyllic. You will find yourself taking pictures for your Instagram and Facebook regularly if that is your thing.
To give you an idea of the hospitality we encountered here, when our car would not start not only did the owners and managers give us their own car to use in the Barolo region but also they took it upon themselves to charge our battery using one hundred foot cables from their battery in the garage to our car. Furthermore, they dropped us off for dinner and picked us up when we did not have our own transportation! To say that they treated us like family would be an understatement.
Furthermore the wine is outstanding. We highly recommend taking the wine tour. We were even able to purchase some rare bottles from the cellar.
The hospitality of the staff is outstanding. The setting itself is unbelievable as you have a view of Monforte and the surrounding regions as you enjoy a meal or sit by the pool. We used the infinity pool and took many pictures.
Food was also outstanding in the restaurant for dinner. We did a tasting menu as well as the wine pairings. We had opted for the Borello pairings and were brought even more wind than what was on the pairings less. We were brought so much wine we could not finish it all to be honest.
To summarize, we have stayed in many places throughout the world and this was by far the most personable and hospitable experience we've ever had. This is a gem and worthy of five stars.

We booked an apartment 500 m from the main house. We thought we would find peace there, but that was not the case at all. 3 of the 6 nights of our stay there was quite disturbing night noise. This is because every time there was a party in the main building. The music is very loud so we had trouble sleeping, let alone sitting quietly on the terrace... I think this is also the case for the rooms in the main house. If there is a party, you cannot eat in the restaurant because then it is closed to the other stayers. The walls between the apartments are also not sufficiently insulated. You hear everything from the neighbors: crying babies, conversations from young people...
Don't go there if you want peace, in your vacation.

Great restaurant. Food and wine are very good. The view is incredible. The staff are excellent. Accommodation is disappointing. Dogs barked most of the night. The air conditioning does not work. The room needs basic maintenance. A sleepless night.

We stopped there occasionally during our visit in the near by villages when we where looking for a place for wine tasting, and it was a great surprise. One of the family made us a very interesting tour in the winery, and then we had wine tasting in the restaurant of 5 different wines that they make- all very good! of course we took some back home with us... :) The view is amazing and the whole atmosphere is very relaxing and peaceful. Warmly recommended!

If you are seeking excellent accommodation, fresh home cooked food, friendly relaxed owners, a glorious pool and garden to relax in, all in a most beautiful setting La Torricella is for you! You will then discover that you are also staying in a really interesting winery producing wines that showcase Piemonte at its best. We could not fault anything during our stay in August 2013. We cannot wait to go back!

It was very difficult to get the attention of the personnel both to do the check-in and to ask basic informations (like the time at which the breakfast was offered or where to leave the key of the room). The owner was busy and the personnel we had the possibility of speaking with did not have any idea.
It was not possible to have dinner (so it meant we have to drive to have dinner, therefore I could not enjoy properly the good wine produced in the area).
In the evening there was noise until late.
The view is great.
Honestly I think we would have deserved a far, far better service, given the price we were paying. The area is full of lovely places, do not bother to stay in this one.

Responded 6 Jun 2013
Thank you for your review, every opinion is for us an opportunity to improve. We apologize for not having ensured the quality of hospitality that we offer our guests with passion. We would have liked to know his opinion before his departure. We could extend an apology better than what we can do now, only with the words :((

Fantastic agriturismo in the Langhe. Great views, big and clean swimming pool, very good restaurant (only breakfast could/should have some more variety), and, above all, VERY nice personnel.
