We visited in June, 2021 and had an absolutely outstanding stay. The lodge is in a perfect location for visiting the dunes of Sossussvlei. We spent two nights here, which was perfect. The staff is absolutely wonderful and the setting is breathtaking. We loved the view from the deck while enjoying our sundowner snacks and drinks. The night sky in this location defies description- vast amounts of stars and a view of the milky way. The food was excellent, and the rooms are very nice. Even visiting in June, the afternoons are a bit hot. Our guide for our visit to Sossussvlei was fantastic. Travel to Namibia in 2021 is fairly quiet, so there were almost no other visitors at the dunes. Overall, a truly wondeful experience ! Definitely recommend !
Amazing place with a great team of people looking after you! Delicious food and what a wonderful hotel to celebrate your birthday - it was certainly one to remember, with birthday cake, champagne and dancing and singing! The trips to the dunes were spectacular, and the night time stars so close you felt you could touch them!
We stayed for two nights at the lodge with as a family (2 adults and 3 children). This was one of our best experiences in Namibia. The staff is extremely friendly and we felt welcome all the time. The children loved every bit of it. We had two unforgettable sundowners in the desert and the Sossosvlei tour is a must. Highly recommended !
If you’re looking for an enormous landscape with acres of space, red sand dunes as high than the Shard and skies brighter than a million diamonds then look further than Kulala .. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful (and sing and dance) and smile (especially Stanley), the food is terrific and varied and fresh and the views staggering. Each room is a stand alone thatched cottage with its own verandah and a flat roof area where the staff are more than happy to make your bed - if you fancy sleeping under the stars (We did and it was great). And frankly if you want to stand in the middle of nowhere then this is the epicentre of that magical nowhere and highly recommended.
Our Safari organised by the wonderful African Travel Resource was all by air and therefore pretty expensive and this was our first lodge. Its all pretty bleak when you first arrive and you think "is this it " Gradually the beauty of the place starts to dawn on you . Its probably a 2 night stay as thats enough time to do all the must do stuff but we really enjoyed our third day lounging round the pool and then going for our last sundowner. I loved sleeping up top under the stars. The food was good. The staff were all lovely - only real complaint is the no one said goodbye .Customer Service experts will tell you that first impressions count but so do your last memories of a place or transaction. Since our guide had to take us to our plane everyone knew when we were leaving. We had 4 lodges on our Safari if we had to drop one it would be this one - partly because of the number of people visiting the dunes etc . Although we would have a different view if we had not been lucky enough to have the Skeleton Coast dunes to ourselves ( at a considerable cost of course )…
