My husband and I had a great 2 night stay at Desert Camp. The individual cottages are spacious, clean, and modern (and the AC was a nice touch on hot days) and you have your own little outdoor kitchen and braai area. You can put in your order at reception for braai food, and then cook it up yourself, and this ended up working out great. The food was excellent, and while we are typically the type who would stay in a lodge and eat lodge food, we found the self-prepared braai excellent and a great experience. Additionally, one night two cape foxes were right outside our cottage hunting insects, and we really enjoyed watching them running around and jumping and catching the insects, and then munching on them. The one thing that would hve been a slight improvement is if wifi were available in the rooms (not just the reception and bar area), but it wasn't a big deal, and wifi only in reception area seems to be pretty normal for accommodations in the more remote areas of Namibia. Overall we loved Desert Camp and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.

This was the best decision ever to stay at this self-catering camp. They offer a service to order food from the main lodge to cook yourself. It is extremely near the main gate to Sossosvlei. The view from the chalet is unbelievable. We even saw a jackal one night while we had a braai. The staff goes the extra mile with everything. Refreshing pool and the wifi works perfect in the reception area. Thank you Cillas, Wally, Angelina and Olivia for the exceptional service. Only one tiny favour for our most definitive next visit. A broom and mop as it gets quite dirty on the verandah and a complimentary bug spray as most people tend to forget this very important tool when out in the open. Remember to ask for a cleaning lady as this is not a given if not arranged prior. Chantelle at the main lodge was the friendliness lady that willingly and eagerly took us for a tour through the premises. Both places are immaculately clean. Most definitely recommendable.

We wanted something self catering and with views and did Desert Camp deliver. Fantastic chalets with everything you need (including a food delivery service to braai yourself) and the view is just incredible. A short drive to the park entrance and once in there the dunes will blow you away. The staff are fantastic and friendly and nothing is ever too much trouble. Leni and Olivia are the sweetest, friendliest ladies too! This lodge is fantastic and next time we head to Namibia for a desert visit this is most definitely where we will stay.

We visited a week ago and it was perfect. The camp is set up with a beautiful swimming pool and bar area where you can relax - and you get the feeling of being in the middle of an oasis. The meals are served at the lodge which is a short drive up the road and the meals are wonderful. Especially the dinner experience - you pick your own meat or fish which are then cooked by a chef on open coals. We loved the experience and will be back.

We fell in love with Desert Camp !!!! Everything about this place was amazing - the location, your home-huts, the convenience, parking, the view, the service, the backyard (where you can see the wildlife, gorgeous sunsets and scenery while enjoying cold beer and braai!) The only problem you will encounter….. not wanting to leave, seriously! We actually stayed the night before in Sossus Dune Lodge (which cost us 4 times more than Desert Camp!!!!) but only because we really wanted to stay inside the park to have an advantage of being at the Dunes/ Deadvlei during the sunrise to experience the surreal colors and capture them in our photographs. The value of your dollar is incomparable! !!!! The concept of ordering your supplies for dinner/breakfast is simply awesome: you get the list of huge selection of items (anything from eggs to all kinds of regular and exotic steak meats for braai, salads, breads and buns, potatoes, veggies, convenient small packs of butter, dressings, you name it! ) You select the quantity of what you want (and I must say that the prices are the same as you would spend in the store), submit the order and it is delivered to you before your dinner (there is deadline for the submitting orders, I believe it is 4 pm..? just double check with friendly staff) What a wonderful service! We had the most amazing evening (we decided we no longer want to go anywhere – we just want to stay in and enjoy everything the camp (and our backyard) has to offer: chilling by the camp’s pool and bar before our supplies arrived (while enjoying free Wi-Fi!), then making dinner in our fantastic outdoor kitchen, enjoying the scenery, delicious food and watching wild life! Our room was so comfortable, super clean and spacious, with air-conditioner and comfy beds! I would absolutely come back here again but would definitely book more nights to enjoy the place and its wonderful service! Thank you, Desert Camp, for making our Namibian adventures even more memorable!
