This is our first mountain holiday experience during all these years. since we live quite nearby, we will never consider a long holiday in the mountain side. But this year, everything should be measured again with new regulars due to the Covid problem. And we decide to take our holiday in our province, our nice Trentino Alto Adige. amoung all the nice resorts and hotels, accidentally i found Bad Ratzes. Then, the nicest ever Ms Petra talked with me on the phone, and i realized how nice she is, and we can also immagine how nice the place would be. Then here begin our 3 weeks long holiday in the Alpe di Siusi Seiseralm holiday. The hotel is exactly in the middle of the national park of Sciliar and Catinaccio. a real paradise in the middle of the forest side. whereever you decide to go, you can find the trekking trails. the most difficult hard mode one, or the easy family trail to do also with babies and small kids. Every morning when you wake up, you can smell the cool fresh air of the mountain, and listening to the birds singing, and the waterfall symphony sounds. That is really the nature, where you can feel yourself quite tiny, and immediately want to be part of it and begin your nice day with trekking on the mountain side, to join yourself together with the nature. a part of the nature admiring everyday, the structures and the staffs are excellent. We feel like in the family when we are in the Bad Ratzes. the Petra team is really a great team, all the staffs are working with smile and with the maximum attention to every guest. my girl enjoyed a lot all the services they provide for the kids club. the morning side she went out with Sonia to explore the forest and all kinds of plants, and make the wood house for the forest spirits, or making the stone tower in the middle of the river. As a city girl, this 3 week holiday really taught her how nice is the nature and how important to explore the nature beauty we got. then a lot of trekkings to do everyday, she even walked around 20 km sometimes, but she enjoyed all the views and all the places she visisted. the restaurant is great. the morning time you can have a super continental breakfast and if you got your service included, you can also prepare your lunch box for the sandwich when you go out the whole day for trekking outside. then at 15-17 everyday. you will get the snack time to enjoy some fruits and desserts or little finger salted food. then at 19 the dinner, we appreciated very much their dishes. not so gourmet because we are in the mountain side, no need to be such a gourmet for luxury dishes. but all the dishes are well cooked, with correct portion, and fresh nice local food, really appreciated a lot. we always clear up all the plates and never leave anything :) a special thank you to Petra, she brings us to explore all the interesting things, like bee honey making, the flowers, everywhere, you can feel how she loves this place and how she takes care of it. special thank also to Sonia and Lieselotte, they took sooooo good care of my girl, and she enjoyed a lot walking and playing all the time with them. Special thanks also to Nicol and Silvia, how they are nice that take care of all our request and always available to help us at the reception side. Thanks also to Fabio, Lucia, and Aurora and Riccardo and the restaurant team for their great professional work to satisfy all the hotel guest. special thanks also to the cleaning team and also maintenance team staffs. so nice and always willing to help you whenever you need. They provide also the tour guide service, the free of charge tour guide will bring you to all the famous places and have a cool trekking with him. or there is another guide that will take you to do some super hard mode alpinist trail.. that is really exciting and you can make your own adventure!!! the E-bike tour is amazing... i just enjoyed a lot taking the bike, in the middle of the mountain side, to reach the top... and enjoy the nature. we will be back for sure, and thank you a lot Bad Ratzes for this special moment, with the maximum care and attention for the Covid regulars, you take care of us, and let us have this 3 week long holiday... we will never forget. thank you. Excellent hotel in the woods. Excellent food and all services. Perfect wine selection at reasonable prices. Very kind hosts that always try to help. İndoor pool and spa. Need a 3-4 km drive to reach the alp de siusi tele Cabin to go skiing. Good facilities for children to play etc. Highly recommended for a wonderfull winter holiday.
We recently stayed at Bad Ratzes with our young daughter (almost two years old), and we had a wonderful time. The building is lovely, and its setting is incredible--in the middle of a forest, with an amazing close-up view of the majestic Schlern. The rooms here are spacious and large, and they feature lovely balconies. We went here on a ski trip, and we were very impressed with the daycare facilities--they have great facilities for kids, and when we went on a ski safari trip that went longer than the daycare (it is supposed to end at 3 p.m. for kids under three), the hotel told us not to worry and that they would keep watching our daughter. This sort of gracious accommodation was apparent in all of our interactions with every staff member. In addition, the food is very good and features many local specialties, including bread from a local bakery, honey and juices from local companies, and tons and tons of local meats and cheeses. We loved staying here. It was wonderful vacation in a spectacular place.…
The hotel structure and location are nice. Despite the hotel offering services for babies too, I think it is more suitable for kids that are 4/5yo and older as they can use the baby-sitting services better. Also the playground is not exactly for toddlers. I chose this hotel because I saw on their website that there was a room especially furnished for babies (my boy is 15months). When we arrived, however, the room was not available as there was a theater workshop for older kids. Once the workshop was finished, though, the room was not brought back to its initial purpose; I had to go and ask the owner to do so. They did it, but it could/should have been done without asking. A big disappointment was the kitchen! The food is good: very good quality even though too small variety (especially for kids). The disappointment was that, despite telling them in advance that I am lactose intolerant and despite them assuring me twice that they were ready to any type of menu variation, I did not receive any special treatment. The only alternative to the first courses was pasta al sugo. Only when I pointed out, after 6 days, that I had never received a decent alternative nor could I ever eat a dessert, the director spoke to the chef and to their supplier and from the day after I had my dessert and lactose-free cheese and yogurt for breakfast. Again, I chose this hotel because they reassured me they could have given me this service, which in fact they did not. One big plus was the waiters crew: all very friendly and helpful! TOP!…
We came here on the recommendation of a friend who has been working all her life in the region's tourism agency and knows the surroundings inside out. Since the first moment, stepping out on the balcony and looking at the majestic mountain above us, we felt there was something special with this place. Our junior suite was fantastic - being a 'mature' couple and seasoned travelers who have lived in three different continents - we are not easy to be contented with. The attention to details was extreme and the food was opulent, fresh, delicious to say the least. The hotel has been taken care of by the same family for several decades: there is tangible love given to everything, care, concern, respect. The guests also feel very special, as the hostess greets each one of them with special attention. It is an hotel that gears to everybody, and each single guest, from children to young couples, to mature people, have a paradise at their feet and all around them. Come to the Bad Ratzes and we are sure you will leave here a bit of your heart, but you will bring with you wonderful memories. Mena and Sandro…
