Detailed Reviews
We stayed for one night as a part of a wine tour of the Loire. For a 3 star hotel, this place is excellent, it beats many 4 stars i have stayed in, on terms of facilities. The grounds are stunning with robot lawn movers keeping everything smart. The pool area is clean and comfortable with towels provided. The restaurant Le 1930 was very good too. The rooms are large but I feel would benefit from some updated furniture, but the current furniture does fit to the chateau feel of the property. Parking is free and breakfast is good. The only thing I’d change with breakfast is having to ask for orange juice every time instead of self service, it took time out of the staff’s time to go and squeeze more oranges with every request. It would have been good to see some modern seating set up within the grass area by the pool as it is a very beautiful part of the grounds, I would definitely stay here again and thing the owners have done a fantastic job with this property,

A truly superb place if you like rural retreats. Excellent in almost every sense, though I can see that they don’t really know how to cook tuna - they tend to overcook it - but apart from that I can’t find fault with this place.
Great accommodation, great food and a small but superb wine list. This place is top drawer
In terms of bangs for bucks.

Dear Gwhitegeog, Thank you for taking your valudable time to leave us a comment! We are really pleased to know that you enjoyed your stay at Domaine de Larchey! About the tuna, we made a mistake on the cooking for your plate, and we did apologize for it, as you are owner of three restaurants you should understand that it can unfortunately happen on a crowded service... Again, please accept our sinceres apoligizes. We wish you a safe and comfortable trip back home, hoping to see you back for your next stay in Bordeaux. Best regards,

Spent three nights in April of 2024. Fantastic staff, food, building, rooms and park. Strongly recommended. Good location for bicycle tours to some of the great chateaux of Pessac-Léognan as well. Family owned, with the 1930 restaurant serving delicate seasonal dishes.

Stayed here for just one night whilst at the end of a long cycle tour for a treat. We were not disappointed by the friendly welcome. The room was lovely. We had a safe place for our cycles. The restaurant is amazing . Wonderful top class food. Had evening and morning swim in the pool. Lovely grounds . All the staff were so helpful and friendly. We will add it to our list of must come again French hotels and tell our friends. Thank you

+1
My husband and I stayed here with our two older teens in July. The whole experience was wonderful. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The grounds are beautiful as is the Chateau. We were looking for a night away from sight-seeing to just relax and Domaine de Larchey turned out to be the perfect choice, the ideal place to rest and recharge.
The Rooms:
We had two rooms both with 2 twin beds which were large and spacious.
The bathrooms were also large with a huge shower and the toilet in a separate room.
First place we stayed in France that had face cloths in the bathroom and the only place we stayed that had soft bathroom tissue...ahhhhh... Also first place in France that had pillows instead of neck rolls. The rooms had A/C as well as ceiling fans. There was some complimentary bottled water and caramels in the room - a nice touch. The wifi was intermittent.
The Grounds:
Gorgeous new pool on the property with waterfall and a tennis court. Our daughter enjoyed visiting with the horses and mule in the pasture. We all took a walk down the relatively quiet road through the vineyards in the evening. Lovely gardens with many flowering plants. This would be a great setting for a wedding.
The Food:
We didn't eat dinner here but we had the continental breakfast - coffee, tea, fresh jams and croissants as well as fresh fruit salad.
We would highly recommend Domaine de Larchey to anyone travelling in the Bordeaux region!

As I'm frequently in Bordeaux on business, I've stayed in many places around the area (from top end to decidedly less so) and now stay only at Larchey. It is like a home from home, where Marie-Cecile and her staff are professional, attentive, knowledgeable and wonderfully friendly. I don't think there's anywhere else that I stay at, where the first question is 'would you like a glass of wine in the garden?'. I've stayed in all the rooms at one point or another and they're all great and individual. There are beautiful trails around the surrounding vinyards and I'm looking forward to the pool opening next month. I would highly recommend staying at Larchey, whether for business, vacation, as a meeting venue or even a wedding!

By any standards this is a lovely 3-star hotel. We stayed for one night. The hotel is easy to find and only a few minutes from the motorway south of Bordeaux. Bollards at the end of the car park prevent vehicles from accessing the front of the hotel, so you have to carry your cases 75 metres or so but once you are there you will receive a warm welcome from Jessica on reception. Jessica had taken the trouble to contact us about a week beforehand, to check on our arrival time and to ask if we wanted dinner in the hotel. We appreciated this rare gesture. We were allocated a chambre superieure, which was lovely. High ceilinged, cool, aircon if needed (but the ceiling fan was all we needed). Very comfortable bed. Huge bathroom, very well appointed. One feature - typical of the flair with which the hotel has been renovated - was that the bathroom had a glass ceiling, allowing a view into the illuminated roof space of the tower above. Dinner was great and very reasonably priced. We dined al fresco - just lovely. Sad to continue our journey after only one night. We hope to return one day.

Stopping there overnight was a brilliant idea.
The welcome is warm and sympathic.
The garden is nice and relaxing.
The swimming pool is confortable, you can even swimm for real, not just take a bath.
The dinner was great. No much choice, but the food is fresh and good. The price is reasonnable and allows you to take advantage of the lovely wines of the regions without fearing the police control.
The rooms are spacious and nicely arranged. You feel at home.
Kids are more than welcome and enjoy the place also thanks to all the animals.
I will definitely visit this place again.

We only stayed one night, but enjoyed very much the location / service of this beautiful place and wish we had more time to stay a few more nights - a location has great offerings. We had the family rooms (2 linked separate rooms), which is ideal to be separate from the children, but still close to them.
