This restaurant is worth a detour on any journey to experience all that is best in French cuisine with excellent service. The décor is charming with tables impeccably presented. The choice of menus was good and a nice balanced wine list. The proprietor and staff were welcoming and attentive. Despite us not having a reservation they were able to provide a nice table and pleasant and unhurried service. Everything from the amuse-gueule to dessert was well presented with good balance of flavours and recommendation for accompanying wines. Well done M. Labadie. We hope to return soon. Wish we had stayed in the hotel

This hotel is located in the centre of Hagetmau, a small, bustling, flowery town in the Landes region of South West France. We had two interconnecting rooms for ourselves and two children – these were simple but comfortable (good beds) and fairly spacious. We spent most of the time by the courtyard pool – this is one of the hotel’s best features, with flowers, statues and comfortable seats in the shade where drinks are served. Another strong point is the food – this is comparatively traditional, but with some nice inventive twists. We enjoyed dishes such as foie gras with rose petal jam, stuffed boned quail, and Grand Marnier soufflé – as well as the most generous helpings of amuse bouches I’ve ever encountered. Rooms and food were reasonably priced, service was quiet and friendly, and the public rooms were elegant and characterful. Thoroughly recommended.

Dear Guests, The pleasure you felt when you stayed at our hotel equals to the sentiment to read your message. We truly appreciate the manner you took to depict the tradition of our region combined to our savoir-faire with such friendly -but objective- adjectives. So we hope to be your host once again! It's sincerely recommended*. Kinds regards, The Direction *(All the more so we were recently granted a third star as hotel)

We live not far away and often take our visitors for the excellent menu of 15 euros at midi. Last year we celebrated our 60 the birthdays there, again at midi, with 12 friends. A room was made available for our group and again it was excellent. We have not eaten at night but next week friends are wanting to take us out for dinner and we will probably choose le jamb on. The decoration is splendid, staff excellent and the chef personally serves and explains the amuse in bouches. Keep up the good work!

This hotel is run by M. Labadie whose father bought it in early 1900's [I understand] and he is intent on maintaining high standards. It has been well decorated in keeping with the 1920's era giving an air of luxury throughout. However, the guest rooms are of modern design - spacious, clean and well appointed. Our large room cost €80 with 2 ample breakfasts at €8 each. We were there in warm weather and used the pool area, I swam [big towels provided at pool-side], my wife relaxed and read until we were ready to eat. It has to be said that if you don't like quality food, pop out to one of the small bars in town. The food was delicious, beautifully presented and served by attentive staff. We each opted for the €28 menu and it was the best meal we have had in France for years. His wines were not expensive by restaurant standards. It is noted in other reviews that Hagetmau is not exactly the centre of the universe and people have to have a day off, so chose the timing of your visit. I conclude that, taken overall, our stay represented 100% value for money.

OK this is a great hotel, but if you stay on a Sunday night, there is very little to do in town - no bars are open, it is completely dead. We went to the local pizza place which actually was very good. Back to Le Jambon- attentive staff and vey good food, but again referring to Sunday - the swimming pool was not open, and no breakfast on Monday morning- had we have been aware of that, we would not have stayed the second night.

Dear Guests Please allow us to come back to you. We are honored of your feedback regarding your stay, even if we regret your expectations of the sunday night and monday morning. We are actually a familial and human-scale hotel. In order to ensure a quality of service, the swimming pool is opened From Tuesday to Sunday afternoon, between 9 am and 9 pm, and the service is actually closed from sundays at 5 pm to mondays, but we always try to remain available to the special requests of our guests! Looking forward to seeing you again, The Direction
