Bandara Resort and Spa in Samui strikes a balance between lively and tranquil, with guests enjoying its vibrant live music and serene spa. The resort's amenities, such as the beach and pools, receive consistent praise, as does the breakfast and the location near Fisherman's Village. While the service is generally lauded for being friendly and professional, occasional delays have been noted.
Opinions on value vary, though cleanliness is a strong point, with well-maintained rooms and facilities. However, some guests mention noise issues and the need for updated room furnishings.

Centrally located at Bo phut about 20-30 minutes from the airport and about 30-40 minutes from the ferry docking pier. Short drive to central festival and a walkable distance along the beach to the Fisherman's village. Rooms were spacious, cost mid-range if booked well in advance you can get a bargain price.
The staff were very friendly and had arranged for a surprise Birthday cake and arrangement f the bed with wishes. Clean, tidy and spacious rooms. Very good swimming pools and nice garden and above all loved the buffet breakfast. It is included in the cost of the hotel and the variety is plenty. Plenty of activities for the Adult and Children alike. The bar and the restaurant are located on the beach.
Overall a very memorable experience and definitely worth visiting again.
The cost of the massage and spa service is very high. One could get a reasonably priced, good massage service at the "Let's Relax Spa" just a couple of minutes' drive from the resort.

We spent 10 nights at this amazing hotel. This was our second time here we stayed here before in the pool villa room again that room was amazing especially the bath!! which was 7 years ago as a couple. This was a family trip so we booked the family room which was great and offers plenty of space if you are travelling as a family as we did. My toddler loved his space which offered a great built in bunk bed with a single bed up top and a double bed below. The room also had two showers which was perfect! I would say the hotel thought about families when renovating this hotel.
Breakfast was great plenty of options available for both adults and children.
The hotel has one large swimming pool for families and also an adult only pool and two children pools.
The hotel is on the beach so was nice to have breakfast and go and relax on the beach after. They have a bar which offers food and drinks.
They have plenty of people selling all sorts of things on the beach too!!
Hotel staff are very nice and welcoming and always greet you with a smile even if you are walking by even the gardener was very pleasant.
We did have a couple of issues but Lance the manager was very kind and dealt with the issues immediately and even gave us a complimentary massage at their spa for both me and my partner which we both throughly enjoyed.
The hotel grounds are lovely and is well maintained.
The hotel is a very short walk to Fishmans Village which you can get to on both the beach and main road and is a great place to visit offering plenty of bars and restaurants and has a night market on certain days check with the hotel for these days. We had a great time there and will definitely go back and stay and would recommend this hotel to families. Thank Lance for making our Christmas holiday a great one at your hotel.

We have visited Koh Samui many times and have stayed at multiple resorts, until we discovered Bandara Resort & Spa- now we will only stay there.
The breakfast selection is excellent! There are several swimming pools in the resort to choose from, the sand area facing the beach is maintained daily by the Bandara staff.
Proximity to the Fishers Village is a short walk away.
The staff and the service are excellent!!! The rooms are kept exceptionally clean with large and comfortable mattresses.
We would like to commend Lance Maravilla. Lance has excellent knowledge of the area and always goes above and beyond to assist with whatever information we need and is an asset to Bandara Resort & Spa.

My boyfriend and I stayed in Bandara Resort & Spa for 4 days. The staff was friendly but we didn't really have much to do with them. The room was big, the toilet and the shower were separate rooms. Overall it was clean but we have seen some cockroaches in the room. The humidity in the room was rather high, and the air conditioning was very cold regardless of the setting (probably, it was just not working properly). Instead of double bed, we got two single beds moved together so that the bed was 4 meters wide. Sleeping on the one half would be too tight, but with two beds put together one could sleep comfortable as a whole family, which is not the nicest thing for a young couple. In general, it was average.
The breakfast buffet wasn't really good and definitely not a 4 star hotel level. No green tea in the assortment, the juices tasted like pure chemistry. The sausages and some of the cold cuts were not eatable. The food selection was broad, they tried to cover for every european and asian tastes alike but the quality is not quite there yet. There is no cooling of the provided food. Several coffee machines are available where you can get what you like. The staff starts to clean away the food while there are still people eating, and it is very annoying to be reminded constantly that it is time to leave.
The prices in the restaurant are ridiculously high taking into account that the fisherman's village is 5 minutes away. Even european style restaurants have lower prices than the restaurant in the hotel (11000 Baht for the dinner on Valentines day, for example). Cannot say anything about the quality, based on the breakfast experience we didn't want to risk wasting more money on food there. Same problem with the massage and washing services.
The notes on the beach that no external food or drinks are allowed are also quite ridiculous as no one wants to pay 10 times the price for the bottle of water.

I am loath to leave negative feedback but feel clients need to be cautious of free upgrades!
Firstly the hotel, beaches, bar, restaurants and rooms are lovely! The hotel is only a ten minute walk from Fisherman’s village.
We booked the tropical room for 3 nights - prior to arrival I emailed to see if we could extend our stay and was advised that we could for the same price!
When we arrived we were advised that our room wasn’t available but we had been upgraded to the villas - whilst this was amazing when we tried to extend we were told there was no room but could stay in the upgrade for double the price we originally paid or downgrade to a deluxe room overlooking the main road.
On this basis we had to look for other accommodation which was a huge disappointment - the customer services weren’t interested in any conversations we had prior to arrival which put a dampener on our stay there!

We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed staying with us at Bandara Resort & Spa, Samui. We are sorry to hear we fell short on delivering a seamless stay experience on your recent visit. We do have tropical room available that time but since you asked us if you could have the same room which is VILLA we kindly inform you that there will be an extra charge as we would like to offer some chance to other guests as well. But this doesn't mean we will use this as an excuse, we accept that there is a miscommunication & misunderstanding during that time. My sincere apologies these areas left you feeling somewhat disappointed of an otherwise pleasant family vacation. I apologize foremost and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the future. Once again I would like to thank for your constructive comments and hope you will consider staying with us again during your next visit to Koh Samui and experience the corrections done. We had a week here in a plunge pool villa.
Our room (726) was gloriously quiet and it was lovely to have private space when the pools got too busy.
The staff were all lovely (special mention to Arm at the beach bar and Ran at the restaurant who looked after us so well.
The beach restaurant served fabulous food and was no more expensive than the restaurants at nearby Fisherman’s village.
The only slight downside for us was that the sandy beach is very course and not comfortable to walk on (obviously not the hotel’s fault!) so we stayed by the pool.
Would definitely recommend

Stayed here in March just got home before the Lockdown. We loved the hotel.
Check in was quick and efficient ,greeted with a dink while they were checked in.
The rooms are spacious with big balcony’s they were cleaned everyday and towels changed.
Breakfast was very good everything you could think of to suit everyone’s taste The resturant was beside the beach and this is the only one so,all meals are taken here.
There were 2 bars one at the main pool and one at the beach, were they did happy hour 3 fill 5 at-the pool ,then 5till 7 at the Beach
The 4 pools here are great one small one is adults only although every pool had children in but then it’s down to parent control which there didn’t seem to be much control when we were there. Would be nice to have a bigger adults only pool.
The grounds are a pleasure to walk through loved the walk to the beach.
Sun beds on the beach. Not enough. They tried to control saving sun beds but that didn’t work very well.
The staff are amazing always happy and obliging and due to the Corona Virus every morning they took our temperature as we went in for breakfast which made us feel they were on the ball.
The hotel is just a short walk to Fisherman’s Village where you will find lots of Resturant’s and they have a big market Wednesday and Fridays.
This is a brilliant hotel and I would recommend to anyone

Our stay here was brilliant - we only had 3 short days, but we enjoyed every minute. Family of four, kids aged 2 and 4.
Family rooms are an excellent standard, comfortable, loads of room and some nice little touches for adults and kids.
The grounds are lovely with three great pools that were never over crowded. The kids pool is perfect - 0.5m is a great depth for most ages and the enclosed design makes it ideal for parents to supervise from the surrounding loungers.
Food and beverage a good standard and well priced for the are (5 min walk to fisherman’s village, if that).
Kids club was a hit - immaculately clean and staff who put their all in to creating activities and interacting with kids. What it lacks in masses of toys it has in interactive play and imagination. My 4 year old has never before begged to be taken and left in a kids club the second he got up, in fact he rarely usually wants to go in them at all!
Thank you to all the staff, who were faultless. I think we will be back one day for a much longer stay.

My husband and I stayed for ten nights at Bandara in a "deluxe" room facing the main pool on the 2nd floor in building 3. The room was of a good size, with two comfortable queen size beds and a big balcony with a daybed, two chairs and a table. My sister and her family had a family-room on the ground floor in building 4. I would prefer building 3 (or 5) if were to return.
The main restaurant is right on the beach, with the beach bar next to it. Both breakfast and the a la carte menu had a broad and varied selection. We had breakfast included, but also had all our lunches at the resort's restaurant. The staff is patient og friendly and there's a really nice informal and relaxed atmosphere at the resort, but not at the cost of profesionalism.
There are plenty of sunbeds both by the pools and on the beach. And the main pool has a good size. With two other pools (one for adults only), and one kiddie-pool, it never feels overcrowded in and around the pool.
Two bottles of water (if you leave tip on the bed, they give you three), and bath towels are provided free of charge every day.
The resort has a perfect location on Bo Phut Beach, and is within walking distance to Fisherman's Village. Outside the resort there's a busy street with massage parlours, laundrys, grocery stores, different shops, cafés and restaurants - and a go cart track.
The only reason why the resort is not getting "excellent" from me is because of what we experienced as a somewhat random housekeeping service. The first couple of days were ok, but then there were some days where housekeeping wasn't done with our room until late in the afternoon (5.30 p.m. at the latest). During these days we also experienced that all the towels weren't replaced, even though we put them on the floor as instructed by a message in the room on arrival. The last few days there was nothing to complain about though. My sister and her family had a similar experience.
All in all a very pleasant experience, and a place we gladly will return to.
PS! The seabed is quite muddy once you get a few metres out in the water which can make the water quite murky some days.

Our party numbered ten with ages from senior to four years and included three teenagers.
The rooms impressed immediately , so much space and high ceilings. We had two deluxe and two family rooms which both had a room within a room so that younger children could be separately accommodated in their parent(s) room.
The family rooms had two tvs and two showers. The room fridge was big enough to be useful and a room safe was provided without an annoying surcharge.
In terms of layout , walking from the back of the hotel towards the sea leads first to a very large pool then a small kidddies pool. Next is a well tended garden with a path which leads to the beach where the hotel restaurant is located.
Breakfast comprised a range of western and eastern foods laid out to facilitate self service. We enjoyed breakfast listening to the waves lapping on the beach close by. The food I sampled was good and fresh and sufficient in quantity.
The small gym had three treadmills and a couple of bikes plus a range of weights. The pool table was in good condition and the table tennis was also well supplied with balls and bats . Not the usual frustration in hotels where equipment is unusable through neglect. The teenagers were delighted to discover that they could use the paddle boards , usually available for rent, free of charge for an hour at 9 am. Getting them to the beach at that time was another matter.
Hotel facilities extend to the edge of the beach where sun beds are provided. The beach is clean and the sea water warm. I saw very few hawkers on the beach and the hotel has a bar usefully located at the beach edge.
Since my last visit to Thailand twenty years ago service has improved immensely. There has also been a noticeable increase in the number of Thais who can speak English extremely well . Walking round the hotel one felt welcomed and at home as all staff encountered greeted guests.
Overall there was a sense in the hotel and indeed at places on the island we visited that the Thais were happy to see tourists returning and were generally making us feel most welcome. Perhaps part of that sentiment was due to the absence of warmth in western society towards tourists and reward driven service.

Hi there there are adequate hangers but not enough drawer space
Breakfast is satisfactory albeit a little repetitive but a good variety definitely. Really easy to go to fisherman’s village , turn left and it’s not far to walk down the busy road, I think Friday is the best day for everything being open and it’s very busy.
Hi,
Hope not too late.
Just one toilet but 2 showers
