Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Bed fine
By contrast shower in bathtub., dangerous off and in. Heavily dated space.
No fridge in room or coffee.
Towels minimal.
1. Per person.
No air conditioning.

Library-zirgedeeltw - is basically open 24 hours, requested, but not really, since the only workplace, “requested” if I wanted to leave before 24:00 while I still had to work.
Room not an option as my partner wanted to sleep.

Mice spotted in restaurant hall while I was working there in the evening.

At 22:10 the bar closed, on a summer evening.. Normally 11pm or 11.30pm I don't remember exactly.

There was still a lot to be cleaned, they said. was the answer. So bar closed.

Staff is very friendly and helpful.

For a 4 star hotel this is extremely moderate to poor.

We booked at short notice by phone without any problems. At reception we were greeted in a friendly manner but not enthusiastically, or at least that was the impression we got.
The room for a family with two adults and two children cost over €200 for one night!! We had expected a lot for the price and the 4 stars and were bitterly disappointed. The stairs to the room were dangerous enough for our children, but in addition to the old room there was a broken socket. The problem continued in the bathroom. Damaged tiles, mirrors, dirt in the joints and more.
After this experience, we will never return to this hotel. The pictures speak for themselves!

Stayed here over Christmas and were not sorry. Nice room with comfortable beds and chairs, good shower. Breakfast buffet more than adequate and the (set) evenings meals (on Xmas eve and day) were well thought out and presented.
Unfortunately the weather was very bad, so having a long walk in the very nice surroundings wasn't a real option, so we might have to go back in another season to make up for that ;-)

We were road-tripping through the Netherlands and decided to stop off at this hotel. Upon arrival the room wasn’t ready yet, but we payed and checked in as it was a 4* hotel centrally located. When we got back to the hotel at 15h00 we were told there were no more rooms in the main hotel and were given a tiny, hot and stuffy room that smelled of urine, across the road … it was simply awful. We went back to the reception to check out and ask for a refund of €200 that we had paid. We were told that this was ‘not possible’. We asked to speak to the manager but were told he wasn’t on site. This whole experience left us feeling deceived.

A dirty, smelly, filthy hole. We're going to skip breakfast tomorrow because you'll be eating in the sewer fumes. We will have breakfast at a vdValk nearby. Unfortunately I paid for breakfast. In your room you can hear the neighbors while they are having fun. Absolutely not recommended. Do not! Rarely have I experienced such a bad hotel. Fletcher, you should be ashamed of yourselves for this disrespect of the customer.

We got one of the remaining rooms because of a voucher (was literally told that way by the receptionist). That means a room next to the stairs (there was no elevator), so everything is audible. You also hear the people who have a room above you.

The window was open, a car was parked backwards half a meter in front of that window, so I quickly closed the window (but it wasn't quick, it was too rickety). There was a strong smell of feces in the breakfast room.

The complaints were dismissed by saying that we had to send an email. You won't get a response to that.
The only positive is the location; it is located in the center of Bergen.

It is a great hotel for the price we paid via social deal, I don't think I would pay the full amount for it. I think parking costs are quite high per night, €7.50.
We did not sleep in the hotel itself but in the room opposite. I miss little things there that would make it all a bit more pleasant. Such as a kettle, some instant coffee and tea, etc.
Late in the evening there was a loud noise in the hallway. However, the service was perfect! Quick response and the problem was resolved in 5 minutes. Big kudos to Rick!
The room was otherwise clean, old but clean. And the bed sleeps well.

The hotel is dated. The room I was in was clean, the shower gave a limp trickle. Breakfast is ok. The staff are friendly. The rooms are rather noisy and I could hear the sounds of a couple's wild entertainment. It is an ok hotel in terms of value for money, but below average.

Terribly dated hotel room and a bathroom from 25 years ago. Dirty tile joints in the shower and a dirty old-fashioned sliding shower door, the toilet seat was half loose and shifted.
I was surprised that I had to pay €150 for this for 1 night. Bed squeaked and creaked, horrible yellow painted heating radiator in the room, nasty carpet, paintless window and I missed a full length mirror. I was here because I had to go to a party and it was going to be too late to drive back. Unfortunately there was no mirror to see what my outfit looked like. I deliberately stayed at the party as long as possible because I was dreading having to go back.
Breakfast was nothing special but fine. Girl at reception was very friendly.
General experience: an outdated hotel with a lot of deferred maintenance. I wouldn't recommend it.

our room and beds were OK. Space enough. Outsight lousy. Shower very oldfashioned and water coming out from wrong places. The food was uneatable most of the 3 days. Breakfast was lousy. Hot boiled eggs boiled much too long.

Da bin ich auch überfragt. Ich würde dort direkt anrufen und mir die Unterschiede dieser Zimmerkategorien erklären lassen. Am Besten wäre ein Foto der einzelnen Zimmer.
