Stayed here 2 nights on a walking holiday. Vila do Bispo is a small village and feels well off the tourist trail. The hotel surprised us - clean and spacious room, extremely comfortable bed and a lovely sun terrace. Very quiet (the church bells next door are loud and chime the half hours, but don’t ring at night)and there was a well-heated indoor pool. Staff were friendly. Breakfast is basic but good quality, very fresh bread and eggs available on request. No hotel restaurant tho there is a small, functional bar but there are several good restaurants/bars within 5 mins walk. Highly recommended.

Very nice staff, everything very clean, solid and high quality. The only accommodation on the Fischerweg that was nice and warm at the beginning of November. There are even rags for hikers to clean their shoes:-) very centrally located with a SPA.

This is a good place to stay for a night or two, well located, in room Wi-Fi, clean and reasonably spacious rooms. Ours had a terrace which was nice and we enjoyed the use of the indoor pool. No tea making facilities in room. My main feeling is that the place lacks ‘heart’ and feels a bit claustrophobic . Feels a bit jaded and like a hotel for people on business trips. The breakfast was ok , but not the best . Oh and watered down, concentrated orange juice just isn’t on in a country replete with fresh oranges. Everywhere else we stayed served wonderful freshly squeezed juice. The dining area was so small that people were seated blocking access to the accessible toilet.

The booking/ reception staff were rude, unhelpful and unfriendly via email and in person. When we changed from three guests to two one month out, they refused to reimburse any money, saying we had been allocated a big room. This didn’t seem fair given they only needed to supply linen, towels or breakfast for two people, we would have been happy in a smaller room, and I gave them plenty of notice. I would have cancelled when I received their unfriendly response but they do not refund once you have paid (and they ask for payment a long time in advance). The hotel is aligned with the Rota Vicentina walk which is why we booked but it doesn’t have the warm character or welcoming feel of other places we stayed along the way. It’s expensive too. My advice: Look around for something cheaper that has more character and a flexible cancellation policy. If you do book, read the fine print.

The welcome is perfect, the cleanliness too, the breakfast is complete. Without forgetting the heated indoor swimming pool. A parking space is available in the basement. In short, a good class hotel at an affordable price. Some rooms overlook a patio, guaranteed calm. To recommend.

We were pleasantly surprised at how good this budget hotel was. We had a very enjoyable stay. The facilities were good, a clean swimming pool, nice outside areas & even a basic gym. It has a great location in the town square & perfect for some of the most beautiful beaches in Portugal.
The staff were so friendly & spoke excellent English. Our room was comfortable & clean with fresh towels everyday. The breakfast buffet was tasty with fresh fruit & pastries, you even get offered tasty scrambled eggs.
All round an excellent find at a great price, we will return.

Stayed 1 week during high season hollidays, located in the midle of old town, walking by distance from restaurants and market, it's a great small family owned hotel. Modernd clean rooms. Good indoor pool. As mentioned before, breakfast lacks imagination but it's adequate.

I stayed in the Hotel Mira in Vila do Bispo in June 2012. It was quite a nice hotel. It was clean and comfortable. The amenities in the room were quite good as well.
The location is very tranquil and calm. We decided to stay there instead of Sagres because the village has much more charm then Sagres.
What I do not like is that the hotel charges for the hammam the pool etc.
In all other hotels I was in it is included in the room rate.

First of all it is a fully accessible Hotel. Completely rebuild with a very nice and covered swimming pool. Then the staff is always available for giving precious suggestion. It is very clean even if in the bathroom there's no bath soap but only shampoo. The breakfast is simple but there's everything a three stars hotel should offer.

We stayed 3 nights in September. The room was quite spacious with a very nice patio area and the bed was very comfortable though the room was let down by the bathroom -not very clean and generally rather run down.
Some of the staff were very surly including the woman serving breakfast and one receptionist who refused to give me a pool towel and said I had to use my bath towel. She would have been better employed in a prison rather than in hospitality, her manner was so rude. A couple of the staff were much nicer including the receptionist with glasses whose English was very good and was very helpful and smiley.
No wifi except on one magic chair in reception.

Bar tiny and never open. No lounge area.
But the biggest let down was the breakfast. Every expense spared here. The vending machine coffee was the worst I have ever drunk in Europe. The juice tasted like orange squash. The fruit salad was actually tinned! The croissants were those long life ones you get in a big bag from a budget cash and carry. I didn't even attempt the ham or cheese it looked so cheap and poor quality. Which was all such a shame as there was a market and bakery just round the corner selling wonderful fruit and breads really cheaply.
Thank goodness they didn't do evening meals. We went to The Ribeira do poco fish restaurant just down the road which was outstanding and made our visit to Vila do Bispo worthwhile despite the dismal hotel.
