Muri Shores is an absolute beachfront property situated in the heart of Muri on one of the most prime beachfront locations that Rarotonga has to offer. The accommodation consists of 4 beach front villas and 2 lagoon view villas. They are all fully self-contained villas at a total size of 55 sq meters offering a kitchen fit with modern amenities, a bathroom and bedroom that allows you to awake to the mesmerizing sunrise and magnificent views of Muri lagoon. Our greatest feature are our large semi exposed veranda offering you the flexibility to sit back and relax in the shade or move out into the sun to capture the warmth of paradise on your skin, all in the comfort of your own private villa. My husband and I stayed at Muri Shores on our 7th visit to Rarotonga. We know what to expect from hospitality here and the team didn’t let us down.
Our lagoon villa, one of two on poles behind the beachside villas, was equipped with everything we could need for a relaxed stay. We were a bit hesitant about the night market being a few metres behind the villa but closing the kitchen and bathroom doors blocked out any noise we may have heard.
The bathroom is cool and clean, with complementary toiletries, plenty of face cloths and hand towels, a good strong hairdryer, and loads of hot water. The floor of the shower is pebbled and on the first day, we wore flip flops as we thought it might be too harsh to stand on. Just the opposite. It was like a mini foot massage each time we showered. There are extra towels in the wardrobe in the main room for both the bathroom and the beach.
The kitchen was fully equipped, including a plunger for the coffee we brought with us from New Zealand and a blender for our morning smoothies. There’s also a good sized freezer which was fabulous for our ice and smoothie berries. A small supply of kitchen paper towels, tin foil and food wrap were very handy. Along with the containers for left over food, etc.
Muri Shores also provided sunscreen and insect repellant.
The bedroom/living area if large and airy with both air conditioning and a ceiling fan for those super hot nights.
We brought our own snorkel gear but there are plenty of hire places close at hand. We appreciated the use of the kayaks and paddled out most days.
An added bonus was being able to stay past the usual checkout time as we were on the awful early morning flight home. Krystina and Edna were very obliging in this regard. Edna, the housekeeper, is just a phone call away.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and hope to be back again next year.

Cannot fault either the property or the service at Muri Shores !! We returned for 10 nights recently and once again everything was truly perfect for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Beachfront villas are virtually steps from beautiful Muri Lagoon which is ideal for kayaking,(provided with each villa) snorkeling, paddle boarding or swimming. To the rear is the 4xweekly Muri Night Market and a bus stop, next door is the Sailing Club (great food & cocktails here) and within a 2 min walk is an ATM, supermarket, cafes, restaurants - the location is fantastic!! The villas have everything you need to be self sufficient - cooktop, microwave, full size fridge/freezer, utensils, pots, pans etc but with dining options on the doorstep you won’t need to be doing too much cooking 😊 Villas are not serviced daily but staff are on hand or just a phone call away to change towels etc. A full service is provided during longer stays as well but brooms, detergent etc are provided for a quick clean if needed. Congratulations to Krystina, Eugene & team for such warm and excellent service once again. We will be back !!

Me and my husband stayed at Muri Shores for almost three weeks, during Christmas and New Year. From the very first contact with the owners Krystina and Eugene we got the best impression. We had a bungalow by the beach. The bungalow is quite spacious and has a small kitchen. I like that you take care of yourself, not having housekeeping knocking on the door daily. You could easily get in touch with the staff if you needed a change of towels or a cleaning. The location is great. Just a few steps away you have a great restaurant, night market is just around the corner and other great places to eat. It was also easy 20 minutes bus ride into the town. Muri shores have a car for rent. We didn't rent it this time, which we regret. The price is good and it's so convenient that the car is right there. We enjoyed sitting on our patio every evening playing cards. But the time we were there it was quite windy, but they have a plastic wind cover which you easily roll down to have it less windy. Each bungalow has a kayak for two and we went out in the lagoon pretty much every day and we were often joined by a sea turtle!!! This is also the spot where the lagoon cruises take off from. We had a late flight on our departure day and we were given a late check out. We only have the best to say about the bungalow, the location and must of all the owners!!! This will be the place we'll stay whenever we go back to beautiful Rarotonga!!!

We spent 4 idyllic nights at one of the Muri Shores villa's (which we realised was a much too short a stay!). The hosts were absolutely fantastic thoughout- both with communication before & during our stay, organising a swift taxi to & from the airport & popping in during our stay to check everything was OK.
The villa is well equipped & the view from the veranda & the bed are dreamy! We found it difficult to pull ourselves away from just sitting there & savouring the tranquility. During our stay - we barely saw anyone else - other than folk walking past on the shoreline. It feels like you have the beach to yourself. We walked around the shore line in both directions and honestly feel the villa's are located in the most beautiful part. It is also brilliantly located for using the local bus, a 24/7 convenience store & a number of different eating options - including the night market (which we did sample - but felt it was worth paying just a little bit more at one of the beach side restaurants).
Loved the enormous walk in shower & the air con was superb.
Can fully understand why all the reviews here are 5 star & why people keep coming back! Memories of a lifetime! Thank you so much.

An insider tip for Rarotonga, great villas right on the beach, lovingly furnished and very well maintained and tidy. The host Krystina is very warm and accommodating, one of the best hosts we have ever had. The villas have everything you need for self-catering/service and, very well equipped, there is a small supermarket within walking distance (2 minutes) and great cafes/lunch/dinner options about 5 minutes away. The night market takes place several times a week, which is outside the door 1min away. We got the tip from our host to get food there but eat and enjoy on the balcony with a sea view. There is also a canoe for each villa and bicycles are also available for free use. A transfer can also be arranged if required (25NZD p.p), we had a very nice driver.
All in all, we had a great and wonderful stay and can fully recommend it, we will definitely come back. Thanks to Krystina & Team

Had the pleasure staying at Muri Shores August 2023. Booked Villa E - One of the high deck villas at Muri shores. I must say, I had an unforgettable experience at Muri Shores. Even though we were behind beachfront villas because it was high deck, we get to see the view of the sunrise/sunset and the lagoon from our villa balcony every morning and evening which I loved and made it feel like we still had a beachfront view.
If you want to be close by beaches and where it’s safe to swim and kayak and do water activities kite surf, cruises etc the best location is in Muri. Muri shores is located right in-front of Muri beach. Elegant design combined with top notch amenities and our villas was a couple steps to the beach we had accessibility to kayaks, snorkeling gear bicycles and beach chairs to tan and relax upon abroad. Close to restaurants and car rentals and cafes also. Walking distance also. Made for a truly relaxing and enjoyable experience.
Krystina (host) went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction to my needs and was very quick to respond to my queries.
Muri shores is definitely a prime location to stay. Made exploring Rarotonga a breeze and definitely would come back to stay at Muri Shores.

You really cannot get better in Rarotonga, a truely stunning location - steps to the water on the very best part of Miri Beach. Even got to swim daily with the turtles that were literally just a few meters out in front of the accommodation.
Excellent facilities - even a kitchen. Restaurant’s & everything else extremely close.
The entire booking process was seem less & staff could not have been any more helpful & attentive.
I do also recommend booking a rental car via Miri Shores as they have their own cars & picking the car up & dropping off at the airport on arrival was a breeze.
Thanks Miri Shores - we will 100% be back.

We loved and enjoyed everything about Muri Shores.
Its location (on the beach, behind the Muri Night Market, excellent Resorts about for eating choices and cocktails. The Raro bus at the gate for trips around the Island. And then the Lagoon. Wonderful for all the water sports, lazing in the warm waters and great snorkeling off the Islands in the Lagoon.
The accommodation of Muri Shores - perfect. They have everything you need for a wonderful relaxing holiday. We were in back unit with a lovely big deck and sea views to eat our breakfast/ meals. The until is a perfect size, spacious, with full kitchen and bathroom, plus bikes, kayaks. Wonderfully clean, lovely staff and also have recycling options which we really appreciated.
We especially enjoyed this property being discreet and all units separate from each other.
Krystina is a delightful person, helpful and just wants you to have a great holiday... which we did.

Muri Shores is absolute perfection. There is nothing more you could want or need when you stay here. 10m and you're in the pristine clear water of the lagoon. The villas are completely private and self contained with everything you could want and need. There is a gas cooktop, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster etc with a vast array of cutlery and crockery. There are ample towels for use and the shower is devine. It is hands down the best part of the lagoon, and only 200m from your room is the Muri night market (food stalls) that runs most nights. There is also a 24hr supermarket (Sells most beer/wine too if that matters), ATM, and takeaway/restaurants. Bus stop is at the top of the driveway to get you round the island.
You honestly couldn't stay anywhere better. ❤️🙏

What a find! Muri Shores is a set of six small boutique villas set in lush gardens, right on the beach in the best part of Muri. Central to all Muri’s activities and convenience, (nearby cafes, restaurants, night markets, 24hr convenience store and bus stop) these front villas open out onto a white sandy beach, with loungers, yet are quiet and peaceful. The back Villas are higher, still have nice glimpses of the lagoon, possibly more private – and are less windy in an easterly. We stayed in both and loved them equally. The villas are spacious, spotlessly clean, and tastefully furnished. The beds were comfortable, the showers good, and various seating and relaxing options for sun and shade are provided. The decks are large and encourage time spent relaxing. The double kayaks provided are wonderful to explore the small lagoon islands nearby and the bikes, we used to cycle the island. Prior communication with Krystina was prompt and easy, (I very much appreciate how she still allowed us to use a pre covid deposit) and very welcoming and accommodating once we arrived in Rarotonga. They installed wifi while we were there, which just makes everything easy. Albert and Edna are there most days, attending to the gardens and I highly recommend the deck massages by Edna, truly blissful and very reasonably priced - also next time we will hire our car from them, their vehicles were well maintained and competitively priced. Just the perfect place for a relaxing holiday! Wholeheartedly recommend, thank you Muri Shores – we will be back!

Not sure if this is still relevant for you but we’ve just come back and stayed in the villas at the back. The noise from the market is not a problem - and it’s over by 8pm anyway.
We were there during the humid season and found it comfortable enough with just the fan and breezes. If you’re there in the cooler months of May/June I would say you would have no problems at all.
You would have to pay a lot more at Pac Resort for a similar (beachfront) room. I have no hesitation in recommending Muri Shores over the resort.

Hi Ellie D, we paid the remainder of our payment in cash when we got there. There is no office there, just the cute villas. I suggest asking Krystina if she has the ability to take visa.
Enjoy your stay, you'll love it there. We are already booked in again!
