We had a great 3 night stay here in February.
The reception staff have been so helpful - particularly, Memory & Pema, when I’ve approached them with feedback or requests for assistance.
Our son loved his first day by the pool & it was very well maintained....There were paddle boards, kayaks, etc that you could use for free and the lagoon was perfect for these.
The buffet breakfast was outstanding with lots of options to choose from. If you have the time I would recommend visiting the Temanava Spa, as it was extremely relaxing! ......
A great 'merci-meitaki' to Ta'au and his team. I would rate your staff's commitment and hosting as genuine and top notch.
And also, Meitaki Ma'ata to all the dedicated staff of Pacific Resort. Your staff are the backbone of any great business and the staff here have been exceptional, no matter what their role, always friendly, polite and engaged with their customers ...We will be recommending Pacific Resort to our many friends and family. We're looking forward to our next stay, love this place and the excellent, warm hospitality!

From the moment we were picked up from the airport to the moment we were dropped off, we were spoilt and treated like royalty!
We came over to celebrate a birthday and the team at pacific resort really know how to do that, I received a beautiful card in our room as well as a piece of cake and happy birthday being sung to me by the amazing restaurant team.

We were very luckily upgraded to one of their incredible beachfront suites (we kind of wish they didn’t do this because now next time we come we won’t be able to stay anywhere else!)
The food was delicious, we upgraded to the hot breakfast so we could select something off the hot menu each day but if you don’t eat much the normal breakfast is more than enough!
Dinner was so yummy and the best location on the beach, the pesto pasta and the market fish are must haves!
The resort is in the best location, we had a car so we could travel around as we were first timers but next time I think we would spend most of the time at the resort relaxing at the beach and most things are in walking distance!

The staff are attentive, friendly and helpful. One morning in particular we were waiting for a pick up which was late and we just assumed this was due to “island time” but the concierge on in the morning noticed how long we had been waiting, jumped up and immediately started contacting and chasing up the company that were meant to pick us up!

From working in the hotel industry we understand how hard the last couple of years have been for everyone and it was so nice to finally enjoy a beautiful property with incredible employees!

We can’t wait to come back and stay again!

Compared to the international standard we’ve seen, this resort is below average for the price we paid. The rooms are tired and in need of updating, the shower was feeble, we had the next door (presumably) shower unit whirring away next to our heads whenever it was used at 6am & water was dripping through the ceiling inside when it rained. The breakfast is also below average for an inclusive offering with only cold options and no eggs available. Staff were variable - some really good people but mostly were apathetic. We struggled to get clarity on items on the menu or whether we could check out late having asked several times. Food at the restaurant was poor compared to surrounding restaurants and double the price - we had a $300 resort credit which we expected to be a blessing but we actually struggled to spend it! Sleep was interrupted every night by the staff, guest laundry, overflowing (blocked) gutters outside the room, chattering doors & shower pumps. Overall then resort was clean and well kept but we don’t feel that it has the finesse of a luxury resort and fell below what we have experienced for other $400 a night stays in the Pacific region (or worldwide!). I wonder if some of the lower priced options would actually offer better value.

This resort is positioned well. Particularly good if your going as a family with young children. Food is well priced at this resort, but breakfast - continental is a bit of a let down. Toast, a couple of cereals and fresh fruit that varied daily.
Pool area has about 10 pool chairs - for a resort this size it seems lacking.
There are 2 filtered water stations for the entire resort, would be great if these were working properly OR fresh bottles of water left in rooms when they are being serviced.
Beach at front of resort is lovely and handy to have night markets down road.

Helpful and friendly staff, nice rooms that were cleaned regularly and had good facilities. The shower had a bit of a design flaw that meant the bathroom got a bitof a soaking every time but wasn't a big problem. Restaurant was decent and when the weather played ball it was lovely dining on the beach.

It would be good if they had some activities when the weather wasn't good enough to go in the water, such as a few swing ball sets or other games for the kids.

The only bad experience was one night when the resort hosted a wedding reception right outside our room, literally 5m away. Although the noise did stop at 10:30pm our whole family was kept awake until then, which wasn't the kind of experience we were paying for at this level. The management did give us a bottle of wine by way of an apology, but it was a frustrating experience at an otherwise great resort.

We are a Aussie family on our first trip to the Cook Islands, Came to this resort after 5 nights on the other side of the island in a villa. Overall the pacific is very beautiful and we found the staff to be really friendly. We loved the happy hour which had $10 pina coladas, and the free use of kayaks which we used every day. We loved the pool and also the location of pacific was fantastic near a grocery store and the night markets. We found the included basic breakfast to be good mostly, we didn’t rate the plunger coffee and think a coffee machine or some sort of barista would be a much better option for a resort of this calibre and price.
We have 8 year old daughters who were hanging out for the kids club but sadly all 3 days we went to use it, there was no other kids there and the 2 staff members we encountered were not very welcoming to my daughters or even able to tell us much about the days schedule etc which seemed very loose so we didn’t use the club at all. I had a facial in the little spa and it was basic, no info given on the products being used but pretty good. We stayed in the premium family room and we really loved this room, which was a great size for family of 4. Only downside was that the walls (or maybe thatched roof?) were not very sound proof which meant we heard the baby in the room next door waking up a couple of times one night, and when the gardeners were cutting down some trees by the car park, it sounded like it was in our room 😵‍💫 the other thing that was slightly annoying was only 1 pre filled bottle of drinking water, and then it was never filled again. For families travelling with children, they should be supplying drinking water at least 2 bottles and every day, that would just be enough for 4 of us to clean our teeth! Yes there are a couple of water filling stations but they are very slow and not convenient to have to leave your room to access. The villa we stayed at on the other side of the island had UV filters so the tap water was drinkable, it was surprising to find that it wasn’t at the pacific resort.
Overall just a couple of minor things we thought could be improved on, but we had a wonderful time and can’t wait to come back to Rarotonga again.

Have been back to stay at the Pacific resort over 3 times now and have found the services very average considering they advertise a 4+ star hotel. Water leaking into the family Villa rooms to be told that it is too dangerous for staff to fix but no other rooms were available to move so my partner endid up fixing leak. Towels ran out multiple times ans staff were not approachable. If there is a wedding on and you stay in the villas your children will be disturbed up to midnight. Also at other hotels on tje island if you return to stay you will either get a discount or some incentive for returning. Pacific was a total let down did not recognise on arrival had to wait for restaurant staff to organise complimamtary wine. Will spend my Thousands elsewhere from now on

Response from Marcus Niszow, Owner at Pacific Resort Rarotonga
Responded 30 Aug 2021
Kia Orana Jodi, Thank you for your feedback and comments. We are naturally disappointed to hear your recent stay has fallen short of expectation. We do try our very best to meet and exceed the expectations of all our guest but unfortunately some issues can slip through the gaps. In your case we are surprised to hear the maintenance issue with your villa went unresolved during your stay, this is unacceptable and simply not standard operating procedure for our resorts. A response like the one you were given without any options or alternatives is simply not the way we operate. it is likely the issue was handled by one of our junior team member and not escalated to management. In any case we always recommend asking for the Manager on Duty or GM when our guest have any issue that needs to be resolved relating to guest experience. On the matter of disruptions to guest stay in our villas due to weddings, this issue has been addressed and resolved moving forward. Once the last of our pre-booked weddings are completed Pacific Resort Rarotonga will no longer offer the location as a wedding venue, ensuring the quality of stay for all our guests is uncompromised. Finally, all our resorts have a return guest recognition program in place which includes discounted room rates as well as VIP amenities on arrival. It is important for any returning guest to highlight this at the time of booking so our Central Reservations team can appropriately flag the booking as a repeat stay. We are curious to investigate how and why your booking was missed for recognition and would appreciate if you could take a moment to email our Regional Manager - Ani Thompson on the following email address: ani.thompson@pacificresort.com so we can back check and correct this oversight for your most recent stay. Take care and we look forward to hearing from you in due course.

his resort is stunning. The tropical gardens are vibrant and well looked after. The staff are ever so helpful and friendly. The restaurant food is first class. Breakfast is a 'tropical breakfast' and is a buffet style with limited hot dishes but you can order off a menu if you wish but seriously you don't need to as it is just delicious as it is. There is a guest laundry with washing machine and dryer. They are free to use and reception will even give you free powder. Absolutely loved our trip to Rarotonga and would definitely stay here again. The lagoon on Muri Beach right out the front and is glorious! You can walk from our beach over to the small island where you can explore a bit more. The staff will help you book the tours you want and are very knowledgeable. Stay here - you will remember it forever.

After a long awaited and much anticipated stay we were pleased with our time at the Pacific Resort Rarotonga. We had originally booked in 2022 but were finally able to travel in 2024 due to Covid delays. The resort was helpful and easy to contact about our booking. This is likely one of the best resorts on Rarotonga with an excellent location on Muri beach. Maybe one of the few places where you don't need to rent a car.
Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children) stayed in the Family Room (Open Plan) Garden room which it turns out has a separate room with twin beds for the children with a door that closes and their own television. We liked having a fridge, coffee and tea making service and dishes, plates, cutlery for various snacks we enjoyed on the patio. We had the upstairs room which was nice and it was safe enough to leave the doors and windows open to enjoy the ocean breezes. It was very quiet while we were there and most of the surrounding rooms were empty.
Our children ages 9 & 11 enjoyed the Kid's club on property which was open from about 9:30am-3pm. The club was free and there was an option to add on lunch from the kid's menu for a fee. There they participated in basket weaving, sand castle building, crab catching and games with Buster who ran the Kid's Club. There was a sign in/out sheet.
The beach was somewhat shady and windy while we were there due to incoming storms. We appreciated the free kayaks, stand up paddle boards and snorkel gear at the Beach Hut. There were also water shoes in various sizes available although the beach had soft sand so they were not really needed. It was possible to paddle out to the motus from the beach and do (a little) snorkeling.
The location of the hotel is near to everything. There are various restaurants and the night market all within walking distance as well as the Te Vara Nui Village, shops, sailing and scuba diving centers. It is also possible to take the bus around the island from the hotel or to get a taxi. We pre-arranged for airport transfers to/from the hotel. All-in-all a great place to stay!

HI yes they provide towels. I don't recall anywhere to wash laundry though. However there are mosquito coils in the rooms and insect proof nets on windows and an isnect screen, although a couple of geckos whipped in the door when it was opened. Very helpful staff came straight over and managed to get them out

The island itself has a lot of activities for adults which the hotel helps to book along with transfers. They also have a kids activity area which is specifically run by hotel team members as a holiday program for kids. So yes, something for everyone :)
