Great villa with awesome views of the lagoon and super friendly staff.
The private pool makes Muris low tide not so difficult and an easy way to keep cool without having to leave the accomodation.
Stones throw away from a bakery, coffee shop, plenty of restaurants and car hire facilities + walking distance from the night markets.
The villa itself has a very homely feel, plenty of windows for ventilation and natural light but also have curtains for privacy and to keep the inside a bit cooler when needed, bed is super comfy and we had complimentary fruit and bubbly.
5GB of data with hotspot included with each booking and we didn’t have to top up once. (frankly, you shouldn’t need to anyway given where you are)

This was our first time to Rarotonga and we are so glad we choose to stay at Sokala Villas. Lawrence was waiting for us on arrival and showed us around our villa. Chilled wine in fridge, beautiful fresh fruit in bowl, milk, cereal in fridge and beautiful flowers in every room. What a wonderful, friendly welcome awaited us. Stayed in the Beachfront Villa. Followed our lovely host along the private entrance and there in front of us, the most beautiful view ever of the lagoon. A lovely touch when we walked in of fresh cut island flowers and greenery, very quiet surroundings, such a comfy huge bed, complimentary wine and juice etc. Spent a lot of time snorkeling out front of the Villa. Convenience stores and restaurants within walking distance. We really could not fault this accommodation. Thank you to Lawrence and your family for a beautiful experience on our first trip to Rarotonga. We will be back to see you, definitely.

Our second visit to this venue and it didn’t disappoint. We stayed 7 nights and next time may stay longer. Waterfront unit means exactly that. The lagoon comes up virtually to the deck when tide is in. Good safe snorkelling only 50 metres away . The units are rustic but clean & tidy and good size . Recommend you get the ones with their own swimming pool in the deck. Complimentary tropical fruit bowl and cereal last us for the week for breakfasts. Easy walk to restaurants and night market. Bus stops at top of driveway if you want to bus into town or hire a scooter just down the road. Go there, take a good book relax and chill out. Staff all very friendly and helpful. If you want resort style accomodation with people everywhere and kids splashing about in the pool then this venue may not be for you. However if you want secluded private peaceful then you will love it. And if you feel like a resort for an hour or two there are a few nearby you can go to for lunch or dinner.

Sokala Villas provided exceptional service. The villas are stunning and provide privacy, escape from the hustle and bustle of the island. The location is close to rental places, the renowned Te Vara Nui Island Night (a must see!), beautiful beaches and tantalizing restaurants. Kitchen facilities provide oven/microwave/fridge. The shampoo/conditioner provided made my hair feel amazing! The private pools separate this accommodation from the rest. They have cats wondering the grounds who are very friendly and love their pats. All in all I went over with my best friend and we loved it. The beautiful people who manage this place are in tune with all their guests and they go above and beyond where the need arises. I will definitely be back! Thank you to Lawrence and the Team! This place has such a peaceful, private location, right next to the lagoon. The beachfront villa has a homely feel, is spacious, both inside and outside, with a deck and pool. With only 6 Villas, it was a quiet, and central place to stay.
The manager, Lawrence, was extremely kind and helpful. On arrival we were provided with two small bottles of bubbly, cereals, tea/coffee, milk and beautiful fruit.
We enjoyed walks along the beach and using the kayaks in the clear water lagoon, visiting the islands and watching turtles and coloured fish.
We ate dinner at the Night Markets and Te Vara Nui - both locations are only a short walk along the road. We had lunches at the LBV cafe.
We would definitely return here in the future.

We stayed in a beachfront villa with a pool for a week - honestly could have stayed much longer. The villas are all spacious, spotlessly clean, and perfect for a relaxing time on the beach away from distractions like TV and internet. Full kitchens made it easy to cook when we wanted to.
We were recommended Sokala by a travel agent and likely wouldn't have looked here without her recommendation, but it is the perfect adults only place to relax, unwind and enjoy Rarotonga without any pressure. The villas aren't brand spanking new or five star flash, but that's part of their very real charm (think falling asleep to the sound of the ocean and a breeze coming through the windows). Having the private pool was great and very refreshing.
Easy walking distance to everything in Muri, and with the beach right there, swimming, kayaking and snorkelling are easy. If you're travelling with friends, this is a great option to be able to book multiple villas and be nearby, but still have independence and your own space.
Lawrance was an incredibly friendly host, happy to chat, and happy to leave you Ito relax - he managed to always strike the right balance.

We thoroughly enjoyed out 6 nights at Sokala Villas. Having a private swimming pool & deck connected to our Villa was very welcoming and the beautiful Muri Beach was only a short walk away down the path. Lawrence our host was extremely helpful and is a font of knowledge on all aspects of the Island - recommend having a good chat with him upon your arrival as he can provide lots of good advice for day trips, restaurants, etc. We cannot speak highly enough of Lawrence and his family who go out of their way to ensure your experience is an enjoyable one. Beautiful accomodation managed professionally by very accomodating people. Highly recommended as a child free sanctuary close to many great eating spots and activities. We look forward to our next visit. It was one of the best experiences we’ve ever had.

Like coming home! I've been staying at Sokala for years and I love it. The only place I will stay when we are there - unless they are booked out and then they always go above and beyond to try and fit me in somewhere. My fave villa is beachfront with the pool. Perfect!!
