Great Cheap Coffee and Tea actually, I have not been an hotel guest, but it was great welcome environment actually, and also used the clean toilet here! I love the place and the location (its straight oppositie the train station). Used it as an point to rest after a hike around the lake.

We arrived late in Poschiavo and were directed to this restaurant, which was open though everything else was closed. We ordered Barratta - a large ball of fresh, soft mozzarella cheese, served with tomatoes and delicious balsamic vinegar. It was exquisite. The steak was tender and flavorful, and served with the most delicious homemade pasta I have ever had. Fresh herbs seemed to be sprinkled delicately over or judiciously infused into everything. The atmosphere was warm and sleek. The owner, Bruno Raselli, was wandering through the dining room checking on his guests and chatting. Everything on the menu was fresh, local, and organic. Wonderful and memorable!

We stayed here for one night in a room for two. Two single beds, two night stands, a small table and one chair was the total furniture. Our room faced the back of the hotel and our view was of a chicken coop. This was ok, but the roosters did get us up early the next morning. The big downside was, even though we had a non-smoking room, the back door where employees took their smoke breaks, was right under our window. The weather was hot and we wanted to have the window open, but the smoke drifted right into the room so the choice was stuffy hot room or smoke smell. We never did figure out how to turn on the tv. The room was clean, however and the beds comfortable so it filled our needs for a place to rest for the night.

We stayed in a room for 4 persons--we were pleasantly surprised to find that it consisted of a double bed in one room and then a smaller room with a door that closes that contains 2 twin beds (good for kids to stay in). Kids also liked having their own room rather than 4 beds all in one big room. There is one bathroom with a glass-type wall and a terrific shower. There is a small balcony outside. Not sure if there is air-conditioning; if there is, we could not locate the dial to regulate it. Hotel was extremely clean and fresh, consistent with the recent renovations that others mention. Lake Poschiavo was just a few minutes walk from hotel and was beautiful. The Le Prese train train station was conveniently located just diagonally across from the hotel, and we picked up the Bernina Express from there and took the local train to come back to Le Prese. Breakfast consisted of breads, ham, croissants, cheese, jams, honey, juice, fresh fruit, eggs that you could hard or soft boil in this cute little machine, yogurt, museli , milk, etc. and breakfast was served in the restaurant area. Hosts were very nice. Would definitely recommend staying here.
