You also have the option to take breakfast as well as meals in the restaurant - which are delicious. When the weather is good they serve the meals outdoors on the terrace with magnificent views of the surrounding vineyards. They use local produce and even make the pasta themselves. Prices are extremely reasonable and there is a large selection of local wines.
The only downside was poor wi-fi reception in the apartment, however it was ok in the main building.
The place is well placed for visits to Alba, Bra and Asti. It's surrounded by km after km of vineyards and hazelnut trees. The Ferrero/Nutella factory is located in Alba, but unfortunately visits aren't permitted. Campari, Aperol and Ramazotti also have factories in the area. Each year in October and November is the Alba White Truffle World Market, the ideal place to appreciate and buy truffles from the Langhe, Monferrato and Roero area. The biennial International Cheese Festival in Bra (home of the slow food movement) takes place the 3rd weekend of September
Monica and her father Rino (they also speak English and French) are extremely friendly and helpful did their best to make our stay memorable.
I highly recommend this place for the accommodation as well as the restaurant.
You can have breakfast at Cascina Vrona or just do it by yourself.
The location is beautifully located, in the middle of vineyards, hills and agriculture. If you want a quiet place to stay then this is it.
The service was friendly, the rooms clean. The hosts are extremely hospitable and they were great with our kids. We did the horse carriage ride and it was really enjoyable.
Breakfast was great for an agritourismo in Italy. Fresh eggs however you want, plenty of other options.
And the dinners, amazing!! If you can book the half board and make sure that you are hungry!!
Pro: gorgeous location surrounded by vineyards, spacious bedroom and ok-sized bathroom. HUGE breakfast table offering everything from cereal, fresh fruit, juice, cheese, cold cuts, yogurt and scrambled eggs (we were asked if we would like some)
Con: none really, but if you have a bad back, you might find the beds a bit on the soft side.
The staff is super friendly and welcoming.
The food was delightful and great. The winecard is local and the price is really low! Especially fun is to drink the Negro Angelo, the wineyard nearby.
I am looking forward to return there as soon as possible! Possible with a biking vacation.
"We lived on a four person room under the roof. Not much space, but enough. And really cheap."Read full review
