We stayed for an entire week. Couldn't have enjoyed it more.

Our stay was in late Jan, middle of summer. Although the park was basically at full capacity at this time, the area did not feel overcrowded or crazy.

We had a group of cabins in the "Jungle Village" which was surprisingly private, yet close to bathroom and kitchen facilities, as well as a lounge. The cabins we got had three beds in each, a shelf, drawers. The cabins were nicely done and spacious. The area inbetween our group of cabins had transparent overhead shelter, and containrd tables, fridges/freezers, and cupboards.

The bathroom near us was great, showers were good, toilets were clean. The kitchen close to us was also nice and big, lots of bench space, sinks, and stovetops. A very large amount of cutlery, plates, cups, etc. There was a large lounge with a big TV and a dining area by the kitchen, which we didn't use as we used our cabin space, but they were nice areas nonetheless.

The location is brilliant. Right on the beach with a few beach access walkways. Only a minute walk from your cabin or campground spot and you're on the hot sand. The water was great there and safe for swimming, the young kids will have a blast with their boogieboards.

There's a great tennis court which is free to use, rackets available at office, a pool which is reasonably warm, and a great entertainment lounge that I saw was always packed with kids having a blast. The main office has a small cafe which does coffee, ice cream, etc, and they also sell basic supplies to save you a trip into Opotiki town.

The service is fantastic, staff are very friendly and inviting. Never had any issues throughout the stay. The owner is a good laugh.

I would 100% recommend this place to anyone, whether it be a one night stay or a two week stay. Great location for a holiday if you want to get around a bit, as it's no more than a two hour drive to Gisborne, Tauranga, Rotorua, and only about a half hour from Ohope and Whakatane. Thank you Island View Holiday Park for a fantastic stay!

Fantastic staff make you feel like your home from home. Great location on the beach a well run campsite including swimming pool and free hot showers run everything you need. Take advantage of NZMCA rates during quiet season or gold card. You won't want to leave.
Keep up the brilliant work.

We had booked backpackers but were surprisngly upgraded to a private and spacious cabin. a shared bathroom and kitchen area were immediately outside but the cabin had all the comforts of a motel room such as coffee plunger, modern TV, fresh linen, towels etc. We will definitely stay again and choose this level of accommodation. Didn't use the tennis court or other amenities but looked great

Lorne, Mel and the team at Island View are fantastic. The camp offers so much.......tropical vibe with super clean amenities, free showers, pool, tennis court, childrens playground, gelato bar at the shop, beautiful beach with surf lifesaving and not packed out, close to Opotiki for supplies and much much more and the new year celebration they put on is out of this world. Our 3rd year there and we will be back for many more.

Stayed one night in a cabin and asked to leave the car on our friends site while we went for a bush walk the next day. Upon returning we were invited for a cup of tea by friends on their site and a staff member approached and asked us to leave. This was off season and quiet with less than 50 % occupancy. She also stated that she had had a complaint from the cleaners which, when questioned, pertained to us leaving wine bottles outside our cabin by the bin. We had washed and dried all dishes, tidied up and left the place tidy so felt this was unreasonable and there was also no signage. The cabin cost was $200 for the one night for 4 adults without kitchen or bathroom. We are mature travellers and have years of camping experience who won’t be staying there again or recommend to friends.

Our family has stayed in Holiday Parks all over NZ the last eight years and this is the best so far. The layout has been carefully thought about for convenient, cleanliness, ease of moving around and opportunities to connect with others. The friendliest welcome ever, being right on the beachfront was a huge plus, we weren't ready to leave.

We stayed in an upstairs beach cabin for 3 nights. We slept well in our comfy bed, described as double but was bigger than that. We had our own cooking hotplate / microwave etc but found the weber BBQ for communal use very handy too.Wifi was included and was fast speeds.Great facilities such as onsite pool, large safe children's play area and the beach less than 200m away. Gorgeous beach made for some lovely walks. I cant recommend this place enough! Friendly hosts and staff. Thank you for a gorgeous weekend.
We attended the Jazz and Blues Festival which was amazing THANKYOU

Probably best camp we have stayed in has everything you need from beautiful beach great to walk on to the swimming pool which looks relaxing even though bit cold this time of year. The camp is so clean new toilet shower block looking awesome plenty of room for our 8mtr caravan and the Bali theme just makes it more inviting will definitely be back for a longer stay. The bonus was the great coffee made by Sarah and of course the tour we got from Lorne thanks guys..

As a regular visitor, I really don't want to share this special place with the world but I guess that it has to be shared.....
In a little known town called Opotiki, ISLAND VIEW CAMPSITE really is world class. Guests are welcomed and accommodated with exceptional local hospitality - the 'accomodaters' treat one like family, the facilities are modern, clean and well looked after and the beach location is beautiful, and cleaner, than most in the world.
The campsite is clean, spacious and well managed and rooms are so well equipped that as a family we don't have to pack much at all.
For modern comfort, there is everything that one could wish for - from an onsite cafe, boujee bathrooms, automated laundry, weber BBQ's, tennis courts, heated swimming pools and kids playgrounds.
We are hooked, and unfortunately once you visit you probably will be too :(
