1. The rooms were allocated in a building under construction. Mgmt said, Country Club members can get room only from this building. When we returned to room from outside it was stinking badly, probably due to under construction structure. When the rooms were allotted to us, they were not cleaned and we had to ask staff to clean it up again.
2. Food is just above average with decent prices. Lunch and dinner items are not available 24 hours.
3. We booked two rooms and one didn't have phone and other didn't have a fridge. On calling up reception for the fridge clarification, they said, only the MD room has a fridge. I really didn't buy the logic, as that room was VERY VERY BADLY furnished (there were cracks in the room, the wooden plys looked like just fitted but needed furnishing, no phone). The other room was okay but didn't have fridge and 're-filled' plastic water bottles used to get hot.
4. There is a small room with gym equipments and a carom board with unlimited access. That was a good part.
5. Resort is easily accessible from market/station via Rick/Taxi. From resort you need to walk long distance to find one or call reception to get a rick.
6. Swimming pool is well maintained.
7. The house boat restaurant shown in many pics is useless. They charge you 300 per person JUST TO GET IN and then everything else (food/karaoke) is charged extra.
Suggestion:
1. During the booking only they (resort or country club) should specify the building is under construction to make the guest comfortable with the situation.
2. The breakfast/lunch/dinner is NOT ALWAYS a buffet, and they should mention the same as well upfront.
-- I am rating this experience as AVERAGE just because of the money I had to spend due to country club membership (less than usual).
-- Readers should consider all the above limitations while booking with original resort booking amount (which is quite high compared to facilities and their state currently).
Hote location was good we enjoyed it's too long frm lonavla main city boating area is good pool also good and clean water all services is good rooms are good no sign board on road
We went in a group of 3 couples and 1 kid in June and had good expectations thanks to various reviews. The resort is a little difficult to find but we eventually reached and were impressed with the property because of the impressive entrance and a good looking lobby.
We decided to check the rooms before heading out for lunch and were happy with the rooms which were spacious and looked comfortable. However on checking the bathrooms, we were totally disappointed. These were the stinkiest and smallest bathrooms I had ever seen in a resort charging upwards of 4000. One more thing I found out was the inconsistency across similar category rooms. E.g. one of our rooms had a bathtub while others did not. No problem many would say. But I just cannot believe that the bathroom with the bathtub had no shower !! If you wanted to take a quick bath, you needed to fill up a slimy old bucket, fill it up inside the bathtub and use the equally slimy mug to carry out your business. Else wait for an hour to fill up the tub. And yeah the god awful stink...it was not temporary and not limited to a single bathroom, so just imagine the ordeal all of us went through. I guess this was the only thing consistent in the resort. And yeah, I forgot to mention the 4 water cuts during our 2 days of stay!
The resort boasts of an in house boat restaurant however it is just a boat constructed on a concrete base built in an artificial lake. It was useless because the lake was almost empty, the area stinking with stale stagnant water and was non functioning during the period of our stay.
Speaking of the restaurant, the place does have an on board multi cuisine restaurant however the lesser said about it the better. We had dinner once and knew that it was our last in the resort. And yeah calling it exorbitantly priced would be an understatement. To put things in perspective, a glass of warm milk was 59 rupees with 20 rupees service tax and service charges making it a cool 80 bucks for a glass. The rest of the menu, I'll let you do the math.
Lets talk a bit about the swimming pool. Looks picture perfect doesn't it? However don't be fooled by the pretty pictures. The highlight of the pool is the cleanliness of the water. It was of a somewhat milky colour and at the deepest part, I couldn't see the floor. Obviously Nobody touched the water during our trip.
The little positive thing was the breakfast that was served a-la-carte and we had freshly made eggs, poha, puri bhaji and idly wada sambar during our two days. Mediocre but not bad, it was quite a saving grace compared to the sad dinner that we had.
The resort management has become very complacent and this shows in how the show is managed. Maybe its not entirely their fault. Us travellers who have learnt to "adjust" to whatever is thrown to us disguised as "This is how it is" probably deserve this. Hospitality is a word just not relevant to Mystica.

I booked the resort for a weekend on Groupon.com. The deal said a 'deluxe room' for 2 in 4999 (as against the regular price tag of some ~8k) with an additional 1.5k for the third person. Obviously my expectations were built up as per the price tag of 8k, only to be thoroughly disappointed, which is when I also realised that I should have checked tripadvisor beforehand!
I reached on Saturday afternoon with my parents and finished the check-in formalities at about 2. Instead of inspecting the room first, we decided to have lunch and the following happened :
1. First, groupon had goofed up the bookings. They had booked for Sunday instead of the Saturday. In spite of the resort being 'full', they managed to give us a room. Not too much trouble so far.
2. We were ushered into a hot (barely functioning AC) dining hall. There was a cleaner looking seating area adjoining this hall, but that was only if you were eating vegetarian food! So plastic tables and plastic chairs with stained sheets (see picture) it was, as a penance for eating meat. Needless to say, the food was below average and the boat restaurant was not functional for some reason (surprising since the resort was 'full').
3. Post a disappointing lunch, we moved to the room and realised that it should have been seen once before checking. All the rooms are on the first floor and my mother with a severe arthritis problem had a horrible time reaching up coz there are no elevators. On enquiry the management said that 'elevators are not compulsory and nowhere is it written that we have elevators. If you have a special requirement you should have checked beforehand'. I did not know that an elevator is a special requirement in a resort which charges 8k a night from guests. Anyways, again my mistake.
4. The room was decent except for the following: (a) There was only 1 set of towels for 3 people (b) No drinking water bottles (c) Third bed was missing. They do deserve credit for a shabby looking print out of the restaurant menu though (thankfully). Moving on, not a big hassle to correct if you have the housekeeping number to call on, but no, there is no concept of a list of telephone numbers to be kept in the room! So down I go to the reception to get the mess sorted
5. The result: (a) Two sets of towels will be kept in the room (b) Water in the room is chargeable if you want bisleri bottles. If you want from the bisleri cans we will fill bottles and give you (for free). Fair enough. (c) Third bed will be put in the room shortly. (d) Please note down the number for housekeeping and you can call for anything else that you may need. (The bugger didnt have the courtesy to even write down the number for me)
6. Back to the room. The towels arrive and so does the 'extra bed' which is basically a mattress on the floor. And mind you, it costs 1.5k only a night, not a penny more!
7. So down I go again asking why wasnt I informed that there would be no bed, to which they replied 'Madam, we have beds, but a lot of guests complain that the rod in between hurts their back so we have stopped giving those, but if you want we can still provide the bed'. It was 3:30 p.m. by now, I had driven all the way from Mumbai for a nice relaxing weekend and I was losing my patience. I decided to take a look at the state of the swimming pool coz that would be the only saving grace for the quantum of mismanagement already displayed. My findings: the pool closes at six in the evening (again they don't feel the need to mention this anywhere), the water was unclean, infact so dirty that I could not see the bottom in at a depth of 4 feet! When I complained, they started the filter but I had absolutely lost my faith in their capabilities. On a weekend, when multiple people have used the pool, if their filters are not on, it just shows what kind of a cleanliness regimen they must be following, more so when it comes to disinfecting the water. I surely did not want to come back with some skin infection.
I decided I had had enough and would not want to stress myself further. I informed the management and groupon both that I will be checking out and I should get a refund. It was 4:00 p.m. then. Groupon politely refused to refund as I had 'used' the facilities, although the resort confirmed to me that they had not received any payment from groupon yet.
Overall, an exasperating day given that I traveled all the way to Khandala from Mumbai with my old parents to find a mediocre motel standard hotel which had charged me 5k.
I have decided to file a complaint in the Consumer Court against both the entities - Groupon and Mystica. If products can be returned, I am sure services qualify for a refund if the customer is dis-satisfied. In fact, I would invite other travelers to join in who have had a bad experience at Mystica. Had this happened in some western country I am sure both the companies would be sued. The only reason Indians are shafted crappy deals is because we sit back and take it! Even if I lose in the Consumer Court, at least I have a medium thanks to trip-advisor to warn other people from making the same mistake as mine!
The room size is big and interior is average.
What we didnt like is the food and its quality , so preferred getting food from outside hotel.
The staff is very slow , you can see the construction worker having drinks in the night in their lawns .
Tariff is on higher side as compare to the amenities and area.
They have houseboat restaurant which is inspired by kerala houseboats. but they charge extra to serve on the boat ......fishing is the activity we enjoyed in the resort. the pool was clean. but as mentioned in few other reviews broken tiles, and leakage in the bathrooms were seen.
current restaurant is very poor quality .
Overall ok not great
rooms are having awesome scenic view. small lake is there where you can do boating.
However, the building where the room were was still under construction. Rooms were inadequately furnished. Most importantly the service standards were pathetic and horrible. Right from my check-in to check-out services were hopeless. Staff didnt cared to improve the service. I checked-in the hotel late at 9 in the evening, still the room was not fully made up. No hand towels were provided and when demanded they said they have stopped providing hand towels. Only on guest request it would be provided. Also, no drinking water was there in the room. It was only provided after I made the request that too it was provided in refilled Bisleri water bottle, they didnt even provided a jug for water. Both water and hand towel were provided after around half an hour or hour once I placed the request. There was no room service menu in the room and neither there was extension number directory. I had to walk up personally to the reception to get those details. Next day, no hot water was flowing in the bathroom, when complained about it I was said they would send some person to fix it, but for atleast 30 minutes or so no one turned up. Again I complained and then the house keeping guy turned up and said that there is solar issue and everyone is facing the same. It was somewhere around 10.30-11 and still no hot water was flowing. Finally they provided hot water bucket. Even, my room cleaning was done in late evening after 4/5 pm.
When I went for boating, there was a group of people at the entry gate. I didnt knew who was in-charge of it, so I kept waiting over there for some 10 minutes. I was looking out for some help, but the in-charge who was part of the group didnt stood up and assisted. After, some 10 minutes he got up and helped us in boating. Now, what do you expect that he is standing right there and he not ready to help the guest.
Next day also no hot water was flowing in the bathroom and they provided water bucket which was very lukewarm itself. I called up bell boy for check out, but no one turned up and I personally took my luggage and loaded it in my car. This sort of pathetic service I have faced 1st time ever at any place.
My recommendation to travellers to please not visit the resort even it is provided free of cost as most of travellers look for service not just property.
