We were recommended to play golf at Taumaranui, and hit upon this accommodation which proved to be fabulous! After a warm welcome with a cup of tea and ginger shortbread, and a stroll around their stunning and well-mulched garden, we savoured a delicious candl=llit dinner, overlooking the garden as the sun set. Then a sleep in a very comfortable bed, and a yummy breakfast. Chris and Scott were wonderful hosts - and resulted in a memorable experience that couldn't be faulted! Hopefully, will get back soon. (The golf was good, but not as memorable as this!)
Omaka Lodge was absolutely far and above the best place we could have chosen for our family to celebrate a special birthday. Chris and Scott ensured our experience, including gorgeous alfresco dinner in the courtyard, is a memory we will all cherish. They have our gratitude for accommodating our requests, and utmost respect for the divine haven they have created to be enjoyed by all.
Scott and Chris have created an amazing experience: beautiful garden, big comfortable rooms with all amenities, sumptuous dinner, and great company. Such a warm and friendly environment in the middle of the forgotten world highway. You absolutely have to stay there ;-)
Thank you Scott and Chris for welcoming us into your home , with all the modern conveniences we were blessed with beautiful views and a serene retreat Good bye to lady Louise Mrs Poo Millie and all your other farm friends . Omaka Lodge is a definite must for all travelers We will be back No photos taken sorry to busy taking in the calm and hospitality of you both Natasha Stoupe-Barnett
Omaka Lodge offers absolutely everything a traveller needs, and more - a cosy fire, delicious evening meal, tranquil gardens and outstanding hosts, Scott and Chris. Thank you for looking after us so well.
We spent one night here before we did the Timber Trail and we just felt so incredibly spoiled by our hosts Chris and Scott. Nothing was too much trouble, they have such a knack of making you feel like you’re staying with family. The beds were warm and comfortable, bathroom impeccably clean, breakfast was delicious (served extra early so we wouldn’t have to rush to meet our shuttle). I loved Milly the dog too who was so friendly. This lodge is an absolute gem and a must stay for anyone passing through the area. Thank you again for making our stay so memorable and enjoyable!
Our time spent at Omaka Lodge felt like time spent with family. On arrival we were spoilt with delicious homemade cake and pots of tea. Gracious hosts Scott and Chris have a delightfully relaxed, yet attentive charm that doesn't smother ones privacy. Omaka Lodge is faultless.
I could not rate this beautiful accomodation highly enough. From the moment we pulled into the drive I knew this place was out of this world and the photos don’t do it justice. The Omaka lads sure know how to make you feel at home. The only negative comment I have is we didn’t stay longer to enjoy a home cooked meal and soak up the atmosphere of this divine retreat . I plan to return and review again once the garden is in full bloom. I’m in awe of what these hosts have created. The cute animals just the icing on the cake. Oh and the quince cake upon arrival was so delicious not to mention the lovely conversation. I left feeling like I was part of the family and am homesick already .
My husband and I had the privilege of Staying at Omaka Lodge for 2 nights a couple of weeks ago. What an amazing home Scott and Chris have created and what fantastic hosts they both are. We were fortunate enough to be able to upgrade to the Loft. This little home away from home was an absolute delight with every little covered. The ensuite bathroom was simply incredible with his and hers basins and a twin shower, together with beautiful toiletries. Nothing was too much trouble for Scott and Chris and they went out of their way to make our stay exceptional. On arrival we were given home made cake straight out of the oven. We had the option of either eating in with other guests or dining out at one of the suggested restaurants, which were every bit as good as recommended. Breakfast consisted of a range of produce, many of which were produced from the farm itself. Home made muesli and bread and too many jams and other spreads to mention. For two days we lived like Kings. The only regret being that our stay wasn't longer. Omaka Lodge is truly a slice of paradise set amongst beautifully tended gardens. It truly is a tribute to the hard work put in by Scott and Chris and we would highly recommend Omaka Lodge to anyone wanting a place to stay with that wow factor. Thanks so much Scott and Chris for sharing your home with us. We were truly blessed. Cristine and Graeme…
My partner and I paid a brief one night visit to the beautiful Omaka Lodge this weekend as we were in town for a family event. Upon arriving for check in Saturday afternoon our hosts Chris and Scott greeted us warmly, gave us the rundown of the property, and then lavished us with the most amazing homemade apple tart and a refreshing cup of tea. The house was amazing, the room beautifully decorated (not to mention immensely comfortable with all the amenities you could possibly want or need!), and breakfast the following morning, well what can I say... It certainly won’t be quickly forgotten, as we were overwhelmed with a plethora of homemade treats, the least of which was an incredible assortment of fruit jams and jellies made from the bounty of the property. Our only disappointment was that we weren’t able to stay longer! We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in the area and would recommend highly without any hesitation! …
