Detailed Reviews
We stayed at this B&B in mid-July for, sadly, only one night - it was superb and deserves more than an overnight visit. Geoff welcomed us and instantly made us feel at home. Beautifully renovated bedroom with immaculate bathroom facilities. Every need had been thought of and the quality of the supplies in the bathroom was outstanding. Excellent shower. Very comfortable bed, high quality linen and delightfully quiet. Little well equipped tea/coffee bar along the foyer from the room. Downstairs to a very comfortable TV lounge and a large, warm, lounge and dining room. Breakfast was an overwhelming selection - you'd have to be very hungry to make a dent on what was on offer.
We were sorry that our subsequent travel arrangements meant we had to leave after breakfast but June and Geoff were most friendly and helpful.
Thoroughly recommend.

We stayed for 2 nights and will certainly be back. Geoff was a fantastic host and made us feel very welcome and also made us a great breakfast each morning. The historic home has been beautifully renovated and the furnishing and artwork were fantastic. I would highly recommend staying with Geoff and June including using it as a base for doing the many activities in the area.

Our group of two couples, had a fantastic stay here before and after the Timber Trail. June and Geoff are fabulous hosts and go out of their way to be hospitable and provide all the little touches to make your stay really enjoyable. Breakfast is fantastic and the coffee/tea station right outside your rooms has options galore! There’s a turndown chocolate by your bed at night and quality linen on the beds. It’s historic but charming and homely, in a peaceful setting and beautifully presented. Highly recommend!!

We stayed at this B&B on our way to Auckland and once again, June and Geoff were most hospitable hosts. A very welcome glass of wine, excellent room, comfortable bed and great breakfast. This place is an oasis on a less travelled road between Wellington and Auckland.

We had a stopover in Taumaranui and the Inn at the Convent was a perfect place for us to stay in. Geoff and June were great hosts, everything was well organised and they were very helpful. We had an early breakfast which was fabulous, very accomodating as Geoff had to ensure we got to our tour on time.

What an amazing location that is so cosy! We arrived late at night due to traffic and were greeted with a warm friendly atmosphere. The set up is perfect for a quick stay with an amazing breakfast. Couldn’t recommend this more!

In a word "wonderful." Bed very comfortable with quality linen. Bathroom was a room with a view, could see the neighbour's brown chooks running around. Super helpful hosts who served a lovely breakfast.

We can highly recommend the Inn, it is a very nice, historic place with two super-kind hosts. They make you feel at home! Breakfast includes everything you might long for. Even can get a pickup from the Timber Trail for a small fee.

This great old Dame (not you June) was a delightful treasure, The history of The Inn at The Convent was very interesting. Geoff and June were such gracious hosts but in saying that were a load of fun. June we so enjoyed your humour an in particular allowing us to join with your for a fantastic dinner.Such a cold night so sitting around the fire, supping wine with the animals and sharing the meal was perfect. We were so impressed with the accommodation, the ensuite was beautiful and the art work was AMAZING. June has collected not only wonderful art, memorabilia but memories of many overseas trips. A fun, relaxing stay. Thank you Sandra &Graeme
