I booked room 6 and 9 which both had spa baths. They were awesome! Both rooms had stove tops to cook on and all of the utensils were there. It was nice and quiet and sheep next door on the railway. The tracks weren’t too busy either. Local shops are close and the managers were great! I misplaced a phone charger and they were able to retrieve a spare one for me. It’s super clean as well. Would stay again :) actually.. I was only meant to stay one night and I wound up staying three nights so I could do the Tongariro crossing hike!

Excellent, friendly, helpful and accomodating staff - the use of the BBQ was not a problem and was so appreciated by us. Rooms were spotless, spacious, and had everything we needed to be self sufficient. Soundproof rooms make for a good sleep on a busy truck filled state highway 1. Absolutely recommend and a top stay.

We had a spa unit at Aspen Court, Taihape. The unit was spotless and it was great to see a special certificate about the standard of cleaning they maintain, especially during the pandemic. The unit was spacious, warm and comfortable. We found it quiet and we slept well in the comfortable bed. The spa bath was excellent, especially after a long drive. The motel is very close to the Rustic Steakhouse where we enjoyed a delicious meal in the evening. Families would appreciate the playground as well. We would definitely chose to stay at Aspen Court on our next visit to Taihape.

We stayed for one night, the room was very spacious, with king bed, armchair, desk with chair, table and 2 chairs, very big luggage rack (2 suitcases fitted and room to spare), wardrobe with a few hangars, and an iron and ironing board and a hair dryer was in there as well, kitchen was at the other end of the room, opposite the bathroom. There was an air con unit on the wall, with own temp controls. In the bathroom there were a few sachets of shampoo and the same number of sachets of conditioner and a couple of makeup remover sachets. The shower was over the spa bath. The white towels and sheets, although clean, could do with a soak in something to whiten them up. We would stay here again. I did see a couple of swings etc for kids, not huge but somewhere for them to play.

Excellent WiFi, large comfortable and clean room. Great location with a restaurant next door. Our room had a kitchenette that had everything one would require. The on-site laundry was an added affordable bonus that we took advantage of. Easy check in and out.

Very spacious, clean & well appointed rooms & facilities. Comfortable beds, the shower has great water pressure, bathroom area was spotless & towels linen were clean no stains etc. Fast service at the counter/check in which was ideal after a long day of driving!

We stayed here alongside a larger family group for a birthday weekend. Check in was super easy- we arrived early and the room was available early too. The room was very clean and tidy, and had the right amount of amenities. The double glazing meant that you could hardly hear noise from the road. Other relatives were staying at another motel up the road and they complained about the noise from the road and trains, especially a train that woke them at 3AM which we didn't hear at all! The swings and playground were a nice touch and there was plenty of parking. Only a short walk into town, or over the road for the scenic bushwalk in the reserve. I would definitely recommend this motel in Taihape, I think our relatives at the other motel up the road were a bit jealous!

For our road trip this motel had the perfect location, was concerned about road noise but motel was quiet even with new seal on the road. Tidy and clean room, includes Sky TV so better than many Hotels so good value for money even though it could in parts do with a refresh. Heated floor was on making the room warm and cosy on our arrival which was a nice touch.
Down side would be reception, took a LONG time for someone to come and serve and they were extremely disinterested in customers.

We've stayed here numerous times and always enjoyed it. The managers and house staff are super-friendly and accommodating, the rooms are comfortable and the motel has an attractive "cottage" feel. It's also got a great location next to the Rustic Steak House (which does great vegetarian food), and Taihape itself is a lovely little town and a great centre for tramping and outdoors activities. For nature-lovers we recommend the Rangiwahia Scenic Reserve - a superb piece of native forest just 35 minutes away and well worth a visit. Thanks for another great stay.

This is the best place to break Wellington Auckland drive and George is a fabulous host and operator. We’ve been coming here since the early 2000s and every stay has been in lovely clean rooms with a reverse action heat pump. Very important in travelling around the country. Comfy beds and a useful little kitchenette with microwave.
