We enjoyed breakfast here last week and all enjoyed it immensely. The main courses were all beautifully prepared and delicious. The Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Eggs were served on some bloomer toast as was the Eggs Benedict. The Avocado and poached Eggs was beautifully presented and my daughter assures me delicious. Our waitress was very attentive, polite, cheerful knew her job well. Thank you

Probably one of the worst roasts I’ve ever had …£19.50 for two very thin ( Albeit nice ) cuts of beef , 3 of the most over cooked and clearly old / tough roast potatoes … with a old ( clearly sat in a tray next to roast potatoes for hours ) Yorkshire pud. Some bland microwaved veg. Really poor overall in terms of quality and quantity. Avoid … clearly overbooked and the food is sitting there for hours so unless your eating at 12 I’d suggest anything after 3PM your end up with our experience.

Lovely welcoming place to eat and stay. Food was delicious during the day and at breakfast there was a fantastic range of options available. Service at breakfast was exemplary, that’s not to say it wasn’t during the day, but I didn’t do the ordering so couldn’t comment (!) but I’m sure it was great. Rooms were clean, tidy and spacious and had everything we needed for a good overnight stay. This is the 2nd time we’ve stayed here, and we’ll definitely be back again when we need to stay in the area. Thankyou for providing such a great overnight experience, highly recommend.

We met some old friends for lunch and were very impressed. The staff were very friendly and efficient and the menu extensive and varied - we all enjoyed our meals very much. The pub was very busy but the tables well spaced and we felt safe . We would go regularly if we didn’t live nearly an hour away!

Thank you very much for your lovely review - The Crown is a really welcoming and comfortable place for a relaxed lunch with friends. The Chestnut Group has an ever-expanding portfolio of lovely restaurants and pubs with rooms so hopefully you can find one closer to home too - The Northgate in Bury or the Weeping Willow at Barrow are well worth a visit. Of course, we'd love to see you back here too!

Amazing stay! Food excellent as always. Catering for traditional tastes & those of us who like to experiment a little. Nothing too much trouble for you. Only gripe was bed a bit too hard, but that's down to personal preference! Lovely outdoors eating area. Well done all!

I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay - we aim to please! While a lot of people find our mattresses particularly comfortable (our supplier's name is quite a regular request!), they do differ from room to room so, next time you book, let us know which room you were in and we can suggest an alternative. We look forward to welcoming you back.
