Nice hotel overlooking Thon lake. Rooms were clean, befs a bit small and service was good. 15 mn bus ride from Interlaken. Breakfast was good with a good diversity. Staff spoke English and were helpful. Town is very small and nothing much around.

Just arrived back from Shearings Glacier Express holiday nice hotel in pleasent location in village we had room 102 first floor overlooking the lake, this room is part of shearings upgrade and if you can afford it £100 its well worth it recently refurbished large shower and bathroom bigger bedroom,2 chairs sitiing area,tv,tea/coffee speaking to other guests there rooms seemed to be on the small side and often in need of upgrade even though we were there for 6 nights paying the extra was worth it the room as I said overlooked the lake and the railway line now weather it was our room but from other reviews we could not hear the trains sometimes the odd rumble but never kept us awake and I have good hearing, the food is typical of Shearings standard with a swiss twist came round with seconds every night so you would never go hungry, there is no sitting area so you had to sit at your dining table at night, they had a pub next door but was mainly for locals and very smokey, the down side was as it was Switzerland the wine was expensive at 30fr per ltr bottle most couples went to the local spar and drank in there room which was not a great way to socialise as most people went to there room at 9pm. Hanz and Lisa were great hosts and were always there with a helping hand the other staff were also great Dominque was funny a real rock chick with her own local band so always had a good conversation with her. The holiday itself if you book the extra trips make sure your bank account is healthy as it is with Switzerland the trains are expensive but worth it we have been on the Glacier Express before with Shearings and also with Inghams this was our 6th trip to the Junfrau area, so we know what to expect, bern is a great city,we did the Golden pass trip as we had not been to Montreau before was excellent, Tony our driver drove us over the Juan pass witch was very high in the mountains as we started to climb the snow was falling pretty heavy imagine a large coach on a single track road it was awesome the scenery was some of the best I have ever seen in the snow that driver must have nerves of steel we just got to the top in time as another local service coach arrived dont know what would have happened if we had met together.was a bit diissapointed with the Glacier express trip dont get me wrong it is one of the best train journeys in the world but was onlt 1 1/2 hours long the whole trip is 8 hours but last time we went with them we were on for 5 hours one of the best bits of the journey is over the oberalp and we did not get to see it as we get off at Andermatt so dont know why Shearings do it that way as the golden pass trip is 2 hours. if you have never been to the area before and dont want to do all of Sjhearings trips you acn get a Junfraubahn pass ffrom 2 days upwards which does all the cable cars, trains in the Junfrau area and is a lot cheaper just google Junfraubahn or sbb which is the swiss railway site for timetables its in English as well. overall a great hotel and great holiday.

Situated on the shores of Lake Thun (with a road and railway in between), Hotel Kreuz is a very friendly family run hotel.

We visited on a coaching holiday and, together with our companions, enjoyed our 6 nights there. Our room was at the back (no Lake view) had benefitted from a recent refurbish and was spotless as was the bathroom (with an exceptionally good shower). The in room modern TV had a wide variety of international channels.

As we were on a coaching trip, dining options were limited i.e. fixed starter, main course or the vegetarian option and then the set dessert. All food we had was of a good standard. The Hotel would do their best if you advised them that you did not want/couldn't eat a particular dish -eg a green salad replaced by soup. Breakfast was the usual continental spread of, juices, bread/rolls croissants cheeses, ham, salami, plus scrambled egg, sausages and 'eggy bread'. Something to please everyone (including some cereals and dried fruit). The dining area does overlook the lake.

Not a lot to do in the evenings once dinner is over (Leissigen is quite small) although we did have a small 'band' one evening.

Lake view rooms will be subject to train noise with those at the rear being a lot quieter.
Finally, if you want to use your electrical appliances/chargers - you will need your standard European adapter and then another, available from reception, to plug that into. So, hotel adapter, European standard adaptor and then UK 3 pin plug - this will result in you needing to take the weight off this triple connection to stop it falling out of the socket!

In summary, a very nice place with very pleasant staff.

this hotel is in a beautiful location with the lake on one side and the mountains the other, there is a train station a couple of minutes walk so great for seeing Switzerland, the 2 members of staff that we met did work hard but they appeared to do everything, I was told that they had someone to clean the rooms but we never met her. because there was only 2 staff this made for very slow service at mealtimes
wifi was very good thankfully as there was very little to do here of an evening and the television only had 1 channel and that was a German sports channel.
This could be a lovely hotel if refurb, but as it is now it looks a though nothing has been done to it in a very long time the bedding and towels are clean the rest of the room looks very dated and tired and you need to watch your head when you sit up in bed because of the position of the light
would not return to this hotel

Please don’t get fooled in impression trains stop at leissigen station . It is only crossover station for trains as it has single track. Only way to use public transport is bus which has frequency of 1 hour to go to interlaken west station or spiez station where you get connectivity

We have just returned from our trip with Shearing's Glazier Express , staying at the Hotel Kreuz. Firstly can I say what a marvellous time we had, the scenery is outstanding, knowledge of the drivers Chris &Tony of the area and brilliant driving ability was amazing. we took all the extra trips that were on offer and if you can afford to do so it is well worth it.
We did a upgrade on our hotel room as it was a special celebration for us, even though it was on the small side it was worth it as the views from the hotel room across lake Thun and overlooking the spectacular mountains we lovely, the hotel is in need of some refurbishment but very clean, rooms done everyday with clean towels, the food was of good quality but only 2 choices on offer one meat and one vegetarian, they did a buffet meal mid week and all I can say is how lovely it was, the owners are very friendly and all staff very helpful.. We had a wonderful time and would recommend the trip with Shearing's and would use Hotel Kreuz again.

The hotel is old and in need of some refurbishment. The upgraded room we had on the first floor overlooking the lake was small but clean, with very good housekeeping.
We found the hotel staff to be friendly and efficient but the food was at best average with very
little choice.

The family who run the hotel are nice; the food is great, and the beds are comfortable. Just leave your window open at night to let in some mountain air and you'll sleep like a baby. Love this hotel to bits.

We went to this hotel with a Shearings holiday. It was one of the friendliest hotels we have used. Most of the staff spoke very good English. our room was large and overlooked the lake. it was kept clean and there was complimentary bottles of water and the toiletries were replenished during our stay. There was also a fridge and a safe deposit box . We had a large balcony with table and chairs so we could look over at Lake Thun, enjoyed one spectacular sunset during our stay.Breakfast was a good range of continental and English food and although there was only a choice of 2 main dishes and no choice of starter or dessert the food was very tasty and there was always "seconds" offered. Bottles of wine seemed expensive but glasses of house wine were not too bad. there is a supermarket nearby. We had a gala night when we were entertained by a trio of local musicians. .A railway ran between the hotel and the lake but caused us no problems at all. Altogether a relaxing stay.

This hotel has lake facing rooms and they are amazing. You should ask for lake facing room in advance. It is nearby railway station and the place is very quiet. Nothing happens nearby and place is almost dead in evening. You can easily go to Interlaken to enjoy during evening.
