Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The host was very generous, and gave us a beautiful spot for our group. Sheltered, beautiful, close to the river and the amenities. We couldn't believe how much space we were given, the privacy of the space, and also the use of lots of public space for games with the kids. Very rare these days to find such generosity and value for money, - especially at the height of summer when there is usually such competition for space. The host always made us feel like he had time to talk, whatever he was busy doing, and showed genuine interest and respect for everyone in the camp. The friendliness of the management seems to have a flow on effect throughout the campers, and it was just a really nice place to be.

This motor camp is in a great location beside the river and close to the beach. The facilities are well equipped and in good shape.

Hennie was an absolute pleasure and really takes care of his visitors and his local community.

Highly recommend you enjoy a stay here.

A large group of us came for theast bank holiday, and the owners could not have been more accomodating. The large Teepee tents were beautiful, we had all the facilities we needed, and great location near the beach. 100% would recommend. Thank you for making our weekend so special ❤

We are two families that stayed here. My girlfriend and her kids in their tent (2 nights) while I am heavily pregnant so had hoped to stay in a cabin to have a comfy bed. Was told both cabins were booked out but that they did have a truck/bus I could stay in. I was told it was basic accommodation with double bed only and that they were going to send me a photo but never did. I booked 1 night only as was a bit dubious about booking accommodation without 1st seeing it. Turned out my instinct was right . It's a very old and 100% neglected camper van/truck that has not seen a vacuum or had a dust since the 70s. It smelt so stale that we slept with the window and door wide open. The back window we looked out from bed is smashed and no windows have curtains so whenever anybody walks past and triggers the sensor light it lights up the whole interior. Oh and the bed wasn't long enough so I had to sleep with my legs at an angle. They should absolutely not be letting anybody stay in this truck let alone charging people to stay in it. I felt so 'yuck' just entering. Camp ground itself is in a great location for families with so much potential but the management needs a complete overhaul as they have lost interest in making any real effort (this goes for the shared facilities also).

The hosts are most helpful, welcoming and generous.
What a lovely experience.
This is the first time I've come across such hospitality, like theirs at a camping ground. I travel full-time.
There was a shared BBQ, entertainment and lots of laughter. We were entertained by this lovely couples dance to some of their favourite South African music.
Highly recommend!

We dropped in for last minute accommodation as a family of 4 and were offered a yurt! It was fantastic! The host was friendly and helpful. The location was lovely. We enjoyed exploring. Such a fun adventure for us. Thanks

could do with a make over and clean up but it's more then acceptable for where it is. Situated right besides the river and a 5 minute walk to the very small harbour of the Patea river, this camp is ideally situated for a pleasant time away
