Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a small quiet Holiday Park near the beaches &the Surf Highway Taranaki coastal experience. Make sure to get the code for the kitchen & facilities if you arrive late, they are incredibly well stocked with pots, pans, plates etc unlike many other campsites where nothing is supplied.
They have a lounge with couches &a TV for the news or movies?
There are powered &non powered campsites. I travel just by car & appreciate $22/night, staying a whole week or up to the maximum 30nights is totally affordable!!

Nextdoor, literally over the fence is an Aquatic Centre with a 25m indoor heated pool, outdoor 50m Olympic pool, &spas &sauna too I think. I'm going again tomorrow, it's my "happy place".

The Holiday Park garden even has fresh herbs, tomatoes, spinach (silverbeet) as well as flowers &shade trees. I will keep coming here as long as they remain open for business!

Excellent Holiday Park.
Clean, tidy, and pet friendly.
The hub, the swimming pools and park are all nearby.
Last summer we travelled between Wellington and Cape Reinga.
This is the cheapest holiday park we've stayed at.
Highly recommend this park 100% and the owners are lovely, so for the 2 nights experience, Hawera Holiday Park receives top marks 10/10
Thank you for having us.
We'll be back!
Michelle, Joe, Nala and the boys!

Quiet campsite right outside of town. Stayed in a standard cabin and found it to be very good quality for money. The room had a fridge, sink and table as well as 4 beds. The facilities were clean and secure and staff/residents were friendly and quiet. Nice spot in a nice town.
Only drawback was the mattress was a bit old and springy.

My wife and I are into our 70's and had driven up to Taranaki from Wellington, having just circumnavigated the top half of the South Island to avoid Kaikoura; so you can imagine we just wanted somewhere to lay down our heads and recover. We enquired at a motel in Hawera town centre and were quoted $140.00 for one night ! We noted on the board at the information centre (which was closed) that there were several motels in Waihi Road and headed in that direction .......... and saw the Holiday Park sign. After a short conversation with Bernie, I new we were in the right place; $40.00 for a cabin - and using the facilities in the toilet/kitchen block. JUST WHAT WE WANTED ....... and coupled with the almost nurse like care subsequently shown by Bernie we had the most perfect stop for two weary customers. This place is highly recommended and the council should be proud to have two people who put their customers first.

This was the best value holiday park we came across in NZ - cheapest price for 1 tent and 2 people we came across in the whole of New Zealand for the amenities offered; clean kitchen, extremely clean and big toilets and showers, privately sectioned spots for your tent/car/campervan etc and the kindest, welcoming, kind owners. Made for the perfect stop over!! recommended

We hired a Ensuite cabin for 3 days over Christmas from the 28-30th December. The cabin only sleeps 2 but when we booked they said if we brought an airbed we could sleep 3 in the cabin. This worked well for us. It has a bedroom with a Queen bed, Small kitchen with Fridge, Microwave and crockery and an ensuite bathroom so you don't have to go outside in the middle of the night. You do need to bring your own linen.
The couple who manage this park are lovely and nothing is a problem. Would happily stay here again.

Had a lovely couple of nights. Spotless facilities and very welcoming hosts.
Our 2 year old son loved Honey bunny and made himself at home with the hosting whanau.
Thank you for a peaceful weekend, see you again soon!

We were staying in our camper but its good to have new clean and well looked after facilities. The social room was cosy with a good sized TV. Would definately recommend to others. In fact I have already told my Dad about it.
