You arrive up a narrow steep road to Villa Tiboldi
We parked near reception to unload out suitcases and then parked in the underground car park
We were helped up to our room with our suitcases by the girls on reception !
We stayed in Room 4 , a spacious suite up 2 short flights of steps
The room was beautifully decorated
We took advantage of the free wine tour in Malvira which was very enjoyable
We walked down but it is very steep going down through the vineyard
We took a lift back up from other guests staying in Villa Tiboldi !
There is a beautiful pool overlooking the vineyards and plenty of sun loungers
The views from the terrace are spectacular and this is where dinner and breakfast was served if weather is ok
Breakfast was delicious
Mainly a selection of cold items but all homemade and delicious
There were some hot egg offerings too
The homemade frittata was delicious and were the homemade cakes
We slept well as air con worked well and it is a quiet location
Canale is quite a small town so not so many options for dinner and as said before the steep return to Villa Tiboldi would not be for faint hearted
We stayed on site and shared a meats & cheese platter as main restaurant does not open on Mondays
We ate on the terrace on the Tuesday evening and it was delicious and a very relaxing experience
There are 10 rooms in Villa Tiboldi so it feels small and intimate
There were lots of people at dinner so i think people come from outside Villa Tiboldi for the food
We enjoyed our stay in Villa Tiboldi

The Villa Tiboldi is a one of a kind agriturismo...it combines a rural location that is quiet and relaxing, with phenomenal views of the countryside of the Langhe region of Piemonte, excellent food, a relaxing pool, underground parking; in short it has it all. Here you can begin your day with a full buffet breakfast and sit out on the terrace and enjoy breath-taking views of the countryside. The rooms are very spacious. We were in a junior suite no 6 and the bathroom is very large as well. The room have free wifi, room safe, honor refrigerator, air conditioning and two balconys. It's is simply a great place to stay in Piemonte...we highly recommend Villa Tiboldi!

We stayed there for 5 nights with 2 smaller kids and we absolutely enjoyed the stay, even though it may be a bit fancy for a stay with smaller kids.
It is located beautifully on a hill amongst wine stocks with an excellent view - both from the room, restaurant and pool.
We stayed in a junior suite, which was nicely decorated and clean.
Overall cleanliness was on point and highly satisfying.
The breakfast offered and great selection of Italian specialties of high quality and the coffee one of the best we have ever had.
During daytime, we spend quite some time at the pool, where we could order beverages and light dishes from the restaurant. Speaking of the restaurant, that is also highly recommended. Food and service of very high quality, but also a bit expensive in comparison to the restaurants in Canale. But that being said, you will not find any other restaurant in the area with comparable quality of food and service.
If you arrive by car, the villa has an underground parking area with easy access.
In summary - if you ever want to visit the area, staying at Villa Tiboldi is highly recommended from us.

Wonderful place- excellent service, a friendly staff and a really beautiful place. One of the best places we’re ever visited. The Malvira winery is also worth a visit (and tasting), the wine is really nice:)

This restaurant makes most others absolutely pale in comparison. The views, the food, the wine, the service; all are absolutely top notch. Worth every penny, though you will need to part with more than a few here. The best of the best in Canale.

We have visited Villa Tiboldi for since 2011. And we have special
memories of our experiences, the dining and wine. On our recommendations, friends had visited earlier this year and were
polite in their comments of their experience.
We again visited in September and invited my sister-in-law to join us. She had a room on the third floor of the main villa. We had a room in the adjoining accomodation beside the pool. We all dined in the restaurant having the degustation with matching wines.
To start, there is no assistance with luggage. I'm fine with that but a lady to lug bags up three floors. The Villa is not a two star Pensione. Not even a pretence of assistance.
Usually the villa provides a beautiful aperitivo for the guests, then dinner later. Nothing.
But the most disappointing was dinner. Malvera must have produced poor vintages of late. The wine was very poor, matching the cuisine.
We have visited Piedmonte regularly and know what a fine Piedmontese hotel/restaurant should offer.
I note that the staff were new to me. Usually the owners wife runs the reception.
There are excellent establishments throughout Piedmonte to enjoy. Villa Tiboldi is not worth the money.

There's no denying that this intimate country estate perched on a hillside outside of Canale has a spectacularly peaceful and beautiful setting. Unless you get one of the rooms in the main villa, however, you're likely to be disappointed, since the 'comfort' here is correct but rustic, and there's absolutely zero service. Reception is more interested in processing new reservations than in attending to on-the-spot customers, and it's a terrible shame that a place which could be so much fun in the evening shuts-down hook-line-and-sinker after dinner. So if you come back from dinner off-property and want a coffee or a grappa, it's not possible, since reception closes at 7.30pm. Similarly, there's no baggage service, no laundry, no turn-down service, and house-keeping is not always thorough. The hotel's restaurant is good, but again, disorganised service dents the pleasure of the good cooking and the estate's lovely wines. All told, this property has a lot of potential, but given the rates they charge, it doesn't deliver on the luxury experience it pretends to offer. Instead of staying here, I would strongly recommend the better located and very charming Castello di SInio in Sinio instead. Most of the area's best restaurants and vineyards are just out the door of this enchanting property, and the hospitality offered by the owner Denise is second to none.

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights in October during the Truffle Festival. From the minute we arrived, we had smiles on our faces! We thought the place was just beautiful, with plenty of charm. The staff was super friendly from check-in to the wait staff at dinner and breakfast. We had booked a junior suite and when they showed us our room, I literally thought they had made a mistake because it was over the top big and beautiful with amazing views from every window. They had not made a mistake, this was a junior suite (Room 6), cannot imagine what a regular suite looks like.
We had dinner there two of the three nights we stayed and it was delicious both evenings. As I mentioned the waiters and sommelier were super helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Breakfast was lovely as well.
The outdoor seating areas are very nice as well. A beautiful setting with many candles and blankets put out as well for chilly nights. A great area to sit, sip and enjoy the views.
We did also do a tasting at the Malvira winery. Originally they said it would not tbe possible because they had no one available short notice, but then they let us know the following morning that they had been able to arrange it for us and I'm so glad that they did. Very nice and informative tasting with Karen!
I have read that some reviewers did not like the mattresses and pillows and although they may not have been the best, it was definitely not an issue for us at all, they were completely fine at least in our room. Our bathroom was very nicely done and yes the water pressure would change unexpectedly here and there but again no big deal. This is not the Four Seasons but it is a beautiful and romantic place to spend a few nights when in the Piedmont area.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. I have recommended it to friends and we would definitely return if we were staying in that area again. We have been lucky enough to have traveled extensively to many amazing places. Villa Tiboldi rates high on our list. Room 6 is one of our favorite rooms we have ever stayed in!
The only negative I could say is that we had a very hard time prior to our arrival as far as email communication goes. They were definitely not good about getting back to us at all, but as I say, once we got there we thought the staff was lovely.

Great people, amenities, food, wine and location. Somehow this place manages to offer a perfect mix of modern and classic. The food is creative while, in a classic style, they still provide two menus: one with prices for men, one without prices for women (or in this case I should say "ladies"). The waiters can joke around, while also being knowledgeable of wine vintages going back many decades. Some people show up in Fiat Puntos while others show up in Bentleys and the place still appeals to both. The location is great for exploring Alba, Barolo and all the other Piemontese places at a price that's more than reasonable.
