We staied for two nights in this perfekt ryokan with one of the most beautiful onsen. It took us two hours by bus from Fukuoka airport and we walked from the bus stop up to the ryokan on a quiet road next to a smal stream. The room was big and we had a perfekt view to the river

My boyfriend and I stayed at this onsen hotel for one night and it was a rollercoaster rating on our part. Upon our arrival, the concierge lady brought us to our room and we were immediately brought to attention by the strong smell of cigarettes, which stuck onto the 'dresses'

Oh my! Best first ryokan experience and totally loved it. Yamamizuki exudes a sense of luxury but still retains its traditional charm. It sits by itself on a hill, surrounded by forest and flowing water all around. Truly calming. We booked a room with indoor onsen as it was

The Ryokan Yamamizuki was perfect: excellent service, very good food, dream inspired Onsen and beautiful Ryokan. We arrived with the private bus to the Ryokan and were warmly welcomed. A perfectly english speaking Mr. Hasegawa checked us in and presented us the whole Ryokan and

First up, thanks to Taishi for assisting us with our last minute transportation changes (we lost our drivers permits prior to heading to Yamamizuki)! This place came recommended for their spas and we were glad we got a room with an in-room bath too which was lots more

What is the best way to get to Yamamizki from Fukuoka? I will not have a car on my trip.
Hi Ben, I'm quoting below from Japan Guide's page for Kurokawa Onsen. I'd recommend you research the bus or train schedules and inform Yamamizuki what time you will arrive at Kurokawa Onsen so they can pick you up. Hope you have a great trip. By highway bus A direct highway bus runs twice per day between Fukuoka (Hakata Station, Tenjin Bus Center and Fukuoka Airport) and Kurokawa Onsen. The one way trip takes around 2.5 hours, costs 3090 yen and is covered by the Sun Q Pass. By train (for rail pass holders) Kurokawa Onsen is not connected to the railway network, but Japan Rail Pass and Kyushu Rail Pass holders can save a few yen by boarding the above mentioned Fukuoka-Kurokawa highway bus at Hita instead of Hakata. Hita Station is accessed from Fukuoka's Hakata Station by direct limited express train (75 minutes, 3000 yen one way) or by local trains via Kurume (100 minutes, 1650 yen); both fully covered by the JR passes. The bus ride from Hita Bus Center to Kurokawa takes 70 minutes and costs 1850 yen. There are two buses per day.

There is a shuttle van service from Kurokawa town to Yamamizuki. You can ask the hotel for the shuttle timetable. The pick-up location is near the tourist center of Kurokawa town. Actually, if you book a room at Yamamizuki and you plan to travel there by bus, you can ask the hotel in advance for a pick-up detail. They'll send a shuttle to pick you and your luggages at Kurokawa Onsen bus stop where you get off the bus and drive you to the tourist info center of Kurokawa town while bringing your luggages to the hotel first so that you can explore the town conveniently. The driver should give you a map and a shuttle timetable.
