This was my first stay at a ryokan, as I stayed in business hotels during all of my previous trips to Japan. I found the experience fascinating and delightful. Kurokawa Onsen is a charming town, and winter is in my experience an excellent time to be in Japan, as it's quiet,

Ryokan Wakaba Super good service. Nice room and nice Onsen
Absolutely you have to book the dinner with the room. As there dinner was extremely tasty and they will serve you one by one course in your room very hospitality. Besides around the hotel area actually not much choices to choose. I 'm not sure you can reserve the dinner when you arrive. I do recommend to you to book the breakfast in hotel as well
