Hotel's Favourite
We had a lovely stay for 3 nights at the InterContinental - ANA Manza Beach Resort. We are a family of 4, and we are experienced travelers. Although the location was great, the rooms were comfortable, the executive lounge was a nice perk, the views were spectacular, and the food was good, what made this property stand out was the service. Several weeks before our stay, I reached out to the hotel staff to help me plan activities, excursions, dinner reservations, as well as my son's 16th birthday. Anca Tokano, the Guest Experience Supervisor, was so helpful and patient with all of my inquiries. Anca booked dinners, a snorkel excursion, and provided recommendations on the best sites to visit on the island. She went above and beyond in helping to plan my son's birthday. And, even though she was out of the office on the day of his birthday, she planned such a special surprise for him, which was delivered to our room. There was a cake with candles, a lovely birthday card, and even a couple of meaningful gifts. I am so touched by Anca's thoughtfulness. I could tell that she genuinely wanted our stay to be memorable and wonderful. If you want to feel cared for during your Okinawan getaway, then look no further than the ANA Manza Beach!

Hard to be too critical in a pandemic as hotels are doing what they must to survive. But this place has gone too far.
Some things you accept such as room cleaning only every five days, towels changed only on request. This is the new norm.
What I can’t accept is that all English language TV services have been canceled (though the staff did give me an iPad with a special code). Room service is not running and almost all the restaurants are closed. Today for lunch only one place open, 400 metres away and we could not reserve a table as it was closed for a private function. We were told only walk ins were accepted outside if there were any tables available.
The location is wonderful, but it is in the middle of nowhere and there are no restaurants close by.
My advice is give it a miss and stay in the ONNA area where there are great hotels and lots of restaurants
It’s a shame as the staff are really nice, but it feels like management are making bad decisions
Leave tomorrow and am glad to be moving on

We just returned from a two night break away from Tokyo. Being unable to go overseas, this hotel really had the feeling of a true resort about it. Taking up a huge footprint, the views are stunning and the view from inside the lobby is impressive. Even in November you could swim in the pool and paddle in the sea. The garden areas are extraordinary well maintained and we walked around a fair amount during our short time there. I have read reviews that the rooms and common areas could benefit from a refurbishment and whilst that is undoubtedly true, it is a resort on an island rich with history so we didn’t stay much in the room and it wasn’t so expensive anyway. The furniture was a bit tatty and the bathroom was old but it all worked and served its purpose. I was greeted by name on arrival and the service continued from there. One complaint was the complexity of booking breakfast to the degree you can’t always get what you want in the time slot. We were also a little disappointed with the options for food and drinks in the evening - lots of options but not so much cohesion between them. Why not have one casual menu you can order anywhere ? Hotels are having a rough time so putting back reforming until we have some sense of business direction is understandable....of a catch 22. All in all, loved the stay, were made to feel welcome and that we belonged. First tea or coffee served with breakfast like other IHG properties would have been welcome.

We booked 2 nights here based on the amazing photos and beautiful location, when we checked in we were told in order to get a room with a view we had to pay an additional $30/night, which we did. Breakfast was going to be an additional $20/day, after having stayed at a couple other hotels in Onna where these were included we were disappointed but still willing. After exiting the elevator we looked at the hallways and they were so institutional, white concrete floors and white walls and the cleaning staff was in white, we were waiting to be wowed by the room but that was worse. The room was sooooo outdated, the furniture was seriously from the early 90's with bad scuffs and the beds were awful, they had wonderful linens but a clear indentation where the mattress was so worn that the covers dipped in the centers. The room was very clean and again from a photograph it was nice, but in reality it was so below par. We cancelled our reservation immediately and they very kindly gave us a refund, the hotel itself is in a magnificent location and the lobby is dated but still beautiful, the room simply needed updating with more than just linens, the balcony paint was so spotty that it just looked run down and dingy. We were so disappointed but would not have paid $50 to stay there, much less $160 as we were.

e location of the hotel was a good pick for us. I wanted a cozy getaway for two nights and picked the hotel which rooms looked most pleasant to me. The facility is old and looks used on some wooden parts yet I felt it was clean! We got breakfast included and decided on one Japanese and one Continental breakfast. The Japanese breakfast was just the right amount. They had a meat&fish and vegan option. The Continental breakfast buffet was amazing! A few vegan, gluten free options for all meals (breakfast and dinners).
We decided to reserve dinner while checking in. We got 4 4000¥ coupons for the Aquabelle (the mister said it usually costs 5000¥). Drinks were not included. The dinner was fantastic and worth it. I would’ve liked to be made aware of the extra cost of 1200¥ per person though, we were handed the receipt before we left to our room. That was a surprise and unexpected. We were told we could pay “the rest” there but thought the mister meant the drinks. One beer was 1200¥. Also I would’ve liked to have been made aware of our restaurant options. Cruising the hotel we saw a restaurant that had dinner and show. Too bad the reception only pointed out Aquabelle to us.

In general, the hotel was great but just one thing happened on 06-Mar which was the last night that we stayed. When we back to the hotel room after dinner, we discovered that the room was very hot (approx over 23 degree), then we thought we accidentally turned the temperature up when we went out. But when we checked the control, it showed 19 degree. Then we tried to use the hand to feel the wind and it is warm. That day in the afternoon was around 24 degree outside and at night around 18-19 degree. Then we called up the front desk and they told me to turn off the air conditioner and open the window or door to lower the temperature. Then a staff dropped by and explained that due to the low temperature at night, they turned off the COLD air conditioner and use the warm air conditioner. At that time, i felt so frustrated because in the past 3 days that we stayed. It was even colder than the 4th days so we really don't understood why they have such arrangement. Another thing we felt frustrated is that they asked me to open the window or door whole night in order to get the room cooler but the point was that i have two little kids in the room. It will be danger to leave the door or window open.

We booked this place to relax after a long active trip mainly in Tokyo and Mt. Fuji.
Location, service, facilities were all very good.
The resort is surrounded by the sea, gorgeous views, there are several restaurants in the hotel as well as in walking distance made even more convenient by the hotel shuttle van circling the property. (Also a combini right by the entrance)
The Intercontinental Club was well worth it (Amex benefit) with their serene lounge, great evening drinks & snacks, breakfast & afternoon teas. It also has a public bath which is a plus for me as a Japanese person living overseas.
The room had a fabulous view, the room itself was pretty standard but comfortable and the bed was fine, pillows & comforters were good.
Service was great. There are quite a few trainees but hospitality is very Japanese and warm. I appreciated the seamless check in process where we were taken to the tranquil scenic lounge and offered drinks in a relaxing setting. The club people remembered that I like reading the local newspaper so they had one ready for me the next day.
Despite it being very much a family resort which worried us as we try to stay in adults only resorts, the kids were very well behaved and tended to be on the younger side (school isn’t out yet in Japan) and a joy to watch as they are so cute!

I booked this hotel thinking it was a 5-star property. Rooms are outdated and bathroom looks like what you might find in any 3-star hotel. Ocean-view rooms actually face parking. They have 2 breakfast restaurants but you have to reserve in advance so you may not get your choice. I don’t recommend it to anyone and I’ll certainly won’t visit again.

Quite enjoyed our two nights at the hotel. (considering the restrictions under the plague)
However on three occasions our room was filled with the smell of cigarettes due to selfish smokers smoking on their balcony even though it is restricted.
Perhaps a more strict guidelines may be in order.
It is such a shame as this has got nothing to do with the hotel but it really ruined our spectacular view and the fresh morning air that we were enjoying.
On the other front, I also despise hotels who charge guests for parking and 大浴場.

I spent a few nights at the hotel with my wife and two daughters (aged 10 and 13) recently. The staff were excellent and the beach was really good, but...
* The Grill restaurant was closed throughout our stay, and the Italian restaurant was also not open every night. This really just leaves the extremely expensive hotel restaurant, and I didn't want to spend up to £200 per night on a family dinner.
* The breakfast situation is awful. You have to book online for a breakfast table but you can only book on the day after 630am. First day we booked at 815am and had to wait over 2 hours for a free table. So we booked earlier at 715am the next day and still waited over 2 hours. So we booked earlier at 645am the next day and still waited 2 hours. I don't want to get up at 630am on holiday nor wait 2 hours for breakfast.
* I paid for bed & breakfast for 4 people through Expedia but bizarrely the hotel don't regard a 10 year old as a person so I had to pay another £50 per day extra so she could have a bed and some breakfast. The hotel say they have issues with Expedia but not so much that they can be bothered to fix the problem when they can just charge more money. Also the room is not suitable for 4 people at all.
* The hotel room decor, whilst clean, is decades out of date, and the pool is quite dirty, so it just doesn't justify all the high prices, like the beach inflatable course being £20 per person or the £50 per person dinner.

Dear Customer Thank you for staying at the ANA InterContinental Manza Beach Resort. And also thank you so much for taking the time to share your impressions of your stay with us. We are very pleased to receive your compliments about our staff and our beach. However, we apologize for the inconvenience caused by the wait time for breakfast and the children's fee for your plan. Especially, during the summer vacation, many guests are concentrated in the same area at the same time of the day, which causes some waiting time. We will share your feedback with the department manager in charge and make every effort to improve the restaurant by focusing on cleaning the areas you pointed out and rechecking our operations, menus, and equipment. Thank you very much for your honest feedback. We look forward to serving you again. ANA InterContinental Manza Beach Resort

Yes. There’s a good size laundry room with washers & dryers.
The hotel only provides the shuttle bus around the hotel area. Taxis, rental car and public bus are available options.
Not sure of the room class. My room view was not facing the pool and not very pleasant with a messy roof top.
The Hotel is very near the beach, so yes, you can view the beach from the hotel. I believe you can access the beach directly from the restaurant/cafe too.
