Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

amazing hospitality, location and facilities. The owner and staff were the highlight of the experience, offering a level of service that made our stay 10x better. Super close to the ski fields, public transport and amazing restaurants. Will be back again next year :)

The staff were friendly and very accommodating through all hours of the day and night. Highly recommend the “graham special” from the downstairs bar to accompany your game of Mario kart. Double paned windows worked well for a natural mini fridge. Great snow, great people, great atmosphere. Thanks guys!

My partner and I enjoyed our stay at Eagle Lodge Hakuba! Graeme and the staff easily accommodated our needs and requests and we enjoyed the food and atmosphere of the bar below the hotel. The accommodation itself is on the foothills of Happo One slopes, a short walk away from many restaurants, bars and ski rental stores, and across the street from a bus stop which made it easy to navigate the village. The rooms are a bit basic but the hotel has a lot to offer and we would recommend it to our friends looking for a great value stay.

Comfortable and well located if you're looking to go skiing or snowboarding. The free shuttle bus runs past Gakuto Villas just opposite this place, and Mominoki hotel onsen and gear hire place not too far either. Graham went above and beyond and even dropped us off at the bus terminal when we had to leave. There is an onsite coin laundry and place to keep your gear as well so that's convenient.

I had the privilege of staying at Eagle Lodge from the 31.01.20 - 7.02.20. I have stayed at many accommodations in ski areas around the world and never have I felt more like a family member living inside the owner's large house. The staff at Eagle Lodge were all so knowledgeable, delightful to talk to and were happy to answer any questions that you may have about the Hakuba area - from where to eat to which mountain had the best snowfall the night before. When I return to Hakuba I will definitely be paying Graham and the team a visit. Thank you for a great trip.

I stayed at Eagle Lodge in Feb 2019 and again in Feb 2020 and already planning to come back in 2021. Graeme and Tomomi are fantastic and always extremely helpful with booking shuttles, dinner reservations or just general resort advice. Whilst Wadano is a bit further out from Echoland, you have everything on your doorstep. The Shogun Bar downstairs is epic for a few games of pool and a beer after a day of riding and all the staff are total legends. Good pizzas too - the Fuji Fireball and Sumo Supreme were repeat orders. Plus there’s a Japanese restaurant open in the evenings on level 2. When staying here, it is essential to get up to see Jimmy and the crew at The Rabbit Hole (epic burgers and live music!) - and if you want a late one, go to the Beach Bar to hang with Taka and the crew for a few games of darts. After hard runs in the mountains and apres ski I highly recommend the in house hot stone massage too. Thanks again gang. Can’t wait to catch up again soon!

I’ve stayed at Eagle Lodge Hakuba two years in a row and both times were FANTASTIC. The staff are friendly, hospitable and welcoming. They really make sure that your stay is comfortable and the food is top notch. I highly recommend this lodge to anyone staying in Hakuba.

Eagle is definitely for the budget-conscious. Rooms are very Japanese - i.e. tiny and the bathrooms are definitely small for someone who is 6' tall...BUT!!! Graham and his team could not have done more for us! Incredibly welcoming, friendly and will help you organise everything in Hakuba from the moment you arrive. Darcy, Mike, and Alexis made us feel like mates more than guests. Bonus points!! Best Pizza in Hakuba (nice one Mike) and great cheap drinks and amazing company in the bar. Lodge is old, but very very clean. Graham will give you a welcome like no other and explain the area and everything you need to know to get around if you've never been to Hakuba.

Myself and a group of friends stayed at Eagle Lodge during the 2019 Ski season for approximately six nights. The Lodge staff offered an incredibly helpful and personable experience during our stay right from the moment we arrived from Tokyo via train, to the moment when manager Graeme personally returned us to the train station during his lunch break at the completion of our stay. As fellow skiers and snowboarders also enjoying Japan's fantastic snow season, lodge staff were incredibly helpful throughout our stay. Offering suggestions on where to eat, best places to ski/board and even going to the length of booking venues during the busy New Years period; the team put in a conscious effort to ensure our stay was a good experience. Lodge rooms were adequate to our needs and were kept clean. The Lodge provided meal options, shared facilities including coffee as needed and a sports massage therapy service at a reasonable price. The Lodge offered us a transport pick up and return service on arrival and departure as well as an on-demand transport service for a small fee. Overall our experience was both highly affordable and very enjoyable. A true winner!
