Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed here during a TMB hike. This hotel has only a few rooms with en-suite bathrooms. Most are dorm type - with singles/doubles, and multiple bunk beds - and shared bathroom/shower in the hallways. But rooms are clean, and the shared facilities as well (the downstairs showers are supposed to be better). We had a small corner room with two windows, nice views of the idyllic green hilly surroundings, very bare with just a double bed and a sink (a plus as not all rooms have that). Bed is rather soft and the pillows are totally flat. Hotel's on a hill so climbing up the steps to this place is seriously strenuous, especially at the end of the hiking day. Wifi almost nonexistent, can't get any at all in our room.

You are required to take your hiking boots off and leave them in a cavernous room with cubby holes as boots are not allowed inside, which is a huge hassle. There is a small restaurant, nice outdoor seating with good views of the scenic surroundings. For the group dinner everyone can get seconds. Homey and simple meal of puréed veggie soup, chicken (I got a drumstick, others got various other cuts) with fries and ratatouille, dessert a scoop of ice cream. Breakfast also pretty simple, but just one croissant each, too bad no seconds, as it was one of the best croissants so far.

Hotel located on a small pass, next to a fairly busy road. The decor and comfort seem not to have changed since the 70s. The welcome and attentiveness of the staff counterbalance this negative point. We stayed in a room with two beds. Shared showers and toilets upstairs. Old but clean. Towels provided. Good dinner with vegetable soup, chicken, ratatouille and fries and a scoop of ice cream for dessert. Varied breakfast with croissant, cereals, yogurt, etc...

We stayed here one night for TMB, had lunch post hike, dinner and breakfast as half board package with the lodging.
Food is among the best along the TMB(tour de Mont Blanc).
However the lodging even consider it’s a hostel, questionable. I stayed fair number of hostel in US, it’s bunk bed, single. This is 2 double bed squished together so 4 strangers sleeps together, and top bunk the same with one ladder to very high top bunk, which sleeps 4. You have to crawl over bedmates to get to the ladder down.
I was confused with the arrangement, went to ask the reception lady about the double bed, are those supposed to be sleeping one or two? She was nasty about it.
Waitress in restaurant was not friendly either. Not sure she is overworked? Or just because in this part of world they don’t work for tip.

The staff was extremely rude especially the woman at the reception. She kept shouting at everybody. She shouted at us, at other tourists but also at some other staff members. She was extremely grumpy and not helpful at all. It is a pity because the location is great when hiking but it's better to stay in Trient in my opinion. For those who are not hiking and just passing by for a lunch or a dinner, it's better to go to Martigny or Trient. The rooms are also very old and not well maintained. We also didn't find the rooms particularly clean. Besides, the prices, whether it be for the rooms or the restaurant, are overpriced for what they're worth. Once again, better deals in Trient. Unfortunately, it is one of the worst experiences we had on the TMB trail. It's a shame because this place could be a small piece of heaven.

3 passable coffees and 2 drinks paid an inordinate... 23,50 €!! In such a passing place I do not think it is necessary to pluck tourists, who would stop anyway. Unpleasant staff, not suitable. I'm definitely not stopping again.

I stayed here during my Tour Mont Blanc hiking. The hotel is pretty old and some facilities have seen its better days. The dorm-style accommodation is not good but the bed was sufficient for sleep after a long hiking day.

The staff was awful. The lady in the reception was just grumpy and not helpful.

Not recommend. There must be better hotels in Trient.

I had expected this place to be one of my least comfortable lodgings on my TMB hike based on the reviews. I planned my whole trip myself, and found the private rooms unavailable to me, which is really annoying. Most of these places save their private rooms for the guided hikers. I would have gladly paid for a private room.
I was in a 10 bed dorm with 8 people in it. Earplugs were a requirement, as the hotel sits right on a road and we were all too stinky and warm to sleep with the window shut.
The bathrooms were ok. There was only one sink on our floor, which was annoying and led to people just leaving the bathroom without washing their hands. That’s really gross especially in communal living conditions. I also repeatedly had trouble in getting cold water, both in the shower and in the sink. The only water coming out was scalding hot, which can be really dangerous. I had soap all over my face and no way to get it off without burning myself. When we were trying to fill our water bottles the next day once again there was only hot.
The food was just fine. Dinner had plenty of food to go around (even with the large guided groups getting served first). Breakfast was large and plentiful, with everyone getting their own croissant. They had these baskets of bright red boiled eggs on every table, which was entertaining for everyone. They looked like tomatoes at first glance.
Next time I might continue on down into the valley and stay at one of the little towns down there.

The dorms and the bathrooms were about the same in other refuges we stayed on while hiking TMB. However, dinner was better than usual, and the staff were friendlier. Breakfast was not awesome, but it did come with hard boiled eggs. There is also a little grocery store right across the street where we bought supplies for the next day’s hike. That worked out very well.

Stayed here 1 night in a dorm (half-board) whilst doing the Haute route. Options to stay elsewhere are limited and thus it was a little busy, but there was plenty of space still in the dorm. Clean, comfortable, and a bit of a queue for the 2 showers in the morning but otherwise fine. Not enough power points and everyone had something to charge. Very good dinner and but should not have bought wine - very expensive. Half board in a dorm was about 60 CHF.

You are allowed to camp here for 11 Swiss francs each which is pretty good for Switzerland. However, the bathroom and toilet facilities are the smallest I have ever seen, You can only get one person in at a time. There isn't an undercover communal area, so it's almost just as good to wild camp.

There is a tiny shop with a few very basic food items, but I would recommend to stock up before you get there.

Alternatively (and I would recommend doing this) further down the road there is a camping place, without showers but a big undercover area with toilets which would be better. The ground isn't flat though.
