The Hotel is set in beautiful grounds and the building is a little piece of magnificence, you can see and feel it's steeped in history. Plenty parking around and about the hotel. The hotel itself is simply stunning, very thoughtful decoration bringing opulence and even more character to what is a splendid grand flurry of rooms filled with the comfiest sofas chairs and big plump cushions and not to forget the roaring log fire. Cosy despite the huge high ceilings, staircase and rooms on the upper floor. It is just easy. Staff from start to finish (even the pre stay phone) call were so kindly, engaging, considerate and pleasant but fleeting, just getting interaction right. It was dog friendly place and I fell in love with Tilly, a cockapoo which was a bonus getting cuddles. There were various dining rooms and even though they were super busy attention to our service during a Sat night was up there. Our meal was lovely, only one little thing was white wine could have been cooler but goodness that's an easy fix. We stayed in the coach house at the back of the hotel, warm, cosy, comfy and very clean, linens, towels all super soft and immaculate and the shower was just right. Breakfast was just as good to set us off on our journey home, bacon was particularly nice and scrambled egg great. It was perfect for Hubby, his Mum and myself and made the birthday getaway perfect. A huge well done to the team as the whole experience was superb! Thank you and hope to be back 😊

My sister-in-law and I, along with my dog, spent two nights at Lands Of Loyal Hotel from Christmas Eve until Boxing Day. We had the most wonderful time, and everything was faultless. The dog-friendly rooms were beautifully presented, very comfortable with plenty of tea, coffee, and biscuits on hand. From dinner on Christmas Eve until breakfast on Boxing Day, every meal was just perfect. The staff were very friendly and polite and nothing was ever too much trouble. I would recommend the hotel without hesitation, especially as a Christmas treat, and would love to return next Christmas. On a footnote, my very lively Spaniel also had a lovely time and was thoroughly spoilt and fussed over by everyone.

Stayed with my sister for 2 nights after a yoga retreat. We wanted to treat ourselves to a lovely hotel not too far from Edinburgh and this hotel was on my list to visit for years. The moment we arrived we were wowed! The gorgeous hotel just hugs you. The staff welcome you easily and the accommodation is lovely. We had a super large family room with everything we needed. Dinner was wonderful we had a window table and were treated to an amazing moon rise. John stood out being super helpful with tips and suggestions. He recommended a trip to swim at Brought Ferry and we even bumped into him and his son on the visit. Made us feel like locals. The dinner experience is amazing sit by the huge fire ( lit in August, it was chilly enough) choose your dinner and be escorted to one of the many beautifully dressed dining rooms. The view from the dining rooms is amazing. Would like to visit again it was superb.

i have visited this hotel a number of times over the years. sadly our last visit was not one i want to repeat. we had to listen to a guest swearing constantly and moaning about the fact they could not eat in the bar because of their own dog. i feel the management should have address this for the benifit of the other paying guests. we then had to be witness to two dogs having a scrap in the lounge, this is down to the dog owners but again the management did nothing. the morning of our check out we were asked if the room could be cleaned i hadnt even sat down to breakfast , which made me feel as if i was being rushed only to find out that the person asking did not realise it was our check out day. granted we can all make mistakes but to sit and listen to dogs barking and fighting in the lounge is uneceptable for such a hotel. i have no objections dogsit is the owner of the dog at fault. i did realise this was a dog friendly hotel but after what we had to witness, the management need to address this as it will make guests think twice. sadly the apology did not cut it as there was no offer to do anything for those who had to suffer.

We were a group of 12 lady golfers staying for 2 nights at the hotel. From the moment we arrived the staff were attentive and remained so throughout. As you make your way through the hotel you can really see how well looked after it is, and how much effort goes into making sure everything is perfect. We headed out the first night but returned to the huge roaring fire for a nightcap - we made use of those comfortable sofas to relax and enjoy the hotel during our stay. Breakfast is all freshly cooked to order with lots to choose from and the presentation was great. On the 2nd night we had our own private dining room for dinner and the evening meal was quite simply fantastic. We all agreed it was one of the best meals we had enjoyed in a long time. Lands of Loyal hotel is a perfect example of a very well-run hotel, with staff who take extreme pride in what they do and really want you to enjoy your stay. Fantastic - we will return!

We arrived at the hotel to a warm welcome from two charming young men. In fact during the evening these very professional young men plus one waitress appeared to be the only staff. They did, however, do a fabulous job of serving drinks and meals. The hallway of the hotel is stunning, and a blazing log fire in the huge fireplace set the scene to enjoy a glass of wine before dinner. Our bedroom was small, but well equipped. . The whole atmosphere of the surroundings was like stepping back in time to a grander more elegant era. The dining room , was decorated in a similar style with antique furniture, crisp white tablecloths and napkins The menu is large and varied . Unfortunately , however, the food did not live up to the standards we had expected. I had read such glowing reports of the food, that I had high expectations. My starter of prawn roulade was very disappointing, the cream cheese filling overtaking any other flavours. My main course was described at Salmon and sole duo with white wine and lemon butter with wilted spinach. What arrived was overcooked salmon, covered in a thick hollandaise sauce, a few leaves of spinach were visible and when I scraped off the sauce the sole was just visible but again overcooked. My husbands described his main course as average and like myself didn’t finish it. Perhaps it was the chefs night off. Breakfast was also poor a pity, we still enjoyed our stay, the staff and service are exemplary, and the hotel is just beautiful.

One of my favourite hotels to dine. On entering you are immediately impressed by the opulent grandeur of a country house hotel, but yet it has a homely feel. The decor is quite stunning with a grand staircase in the wood-panelled banqueting hall lounge and a welcoming blazing log fire. Mrs Hoyle and her daughter and staff are equally welcoming, treating everyone as friend guests in their beautiful home. The home boasts of the grandeur of a bygone era with a ceiling in the hall, which was from the ocean liner the Mauretania. In one of the dining rooms the magnificent ceiling has the Airlie Coat of Arms, dating to when the home was built by William Ogilvy, son of the Earl of Airlie. The dining rooms are also tastefully decorated in keeping with the character of this splendid country house hotel. The tables are set with crisp white linen table-cloths and napkins, candles and floral decorations. The windows overlook the gardens and rolling beautiful Perthshire countryside. The hotel is approached by a driveway, so is away from traffic and is peacefully quiet. We had lunch for a party of four yesterday and have been before. We were astonished at the wide choice on the menu. Everyone in our group chose something different and all were served at the same time piping hot food. I chose braised beef with a red wine sauce, dauphinoise potatoes and seasonal vegetables artistically presented and served with a glass of red wine. The braised beef was delicious and so tender. The starters and desserts also were excellent. After lunch we returned to the log fire for coffee. It is the perfect place to relax and to enjoy the splendour of this home. I would highly recommend and look forward to returning. A few years ago we celebrated our Ruby Wedding Anniversary here with a family party and were given a large dining room to ourselves. My niece held her wedding reception here some years ago. The hall was used as a traditional banqueting hall forthe wedding meal and for dancing. Adding to the ambiance was a string ensemble on the lawn and in the hall. The family returned some years later for a christening party. Yes I cannot recommend the Lands of Loyal highly enough. Thank-you to the Hoyle family for adding a personal touch.

I am absolutely thrilled with the amazing food, drink and accommodation we enjoyed at the end of January for our dad's 70th birthday. We had the most perfect welcome, a lovely seat and catch up with a G&T by the roaring fire and absolutely beautiful steaks in the dining room. I ended up staying (unplanned) in the hotel to save a long journey late at night and was delighted by the lovely traditional room. The bed was extremely comfortable, the room was warm and the check out wasn't till 12pm! The hotel is (with the exception of some areas) dog friendly which just made it for me! I would highly recommend this hotel for food and drink or for an overnight stay. The breakfast the next morning was second to none and the hospitality throughout was impeccable. Thank you very much for having us and for making dad's birthday absolutely perfect.

A unique, magical, wonderful place made all the more special by the lovely staff. The bedrooms are comfortable with excellent linen. The food is first rate served in a classy dining room. The drawing room is simply the most special of any hotel drawing room I have ever been in.

We arrived on a rainy, windy Thursday afternoon. We managed to get parked outside the front door of the hotel. We checked in and were shown through the main hall with its oak wooden panelling said to be inspired by the famous ocean liner RMS Mauritania launched in 1906, the main hall has a huge open fire over which a stags head keeps an eye on the staff and guests.
We were shown to the door of our room but not into the room as the hotel was observing Covid 19 measures, as they did throughout our stay.
The room had a small hallway off which there was a full bathroom with bath with shower, separate enclosed shower, sink and bidet, ideal for chilling the wine. The bathroom suite was modern and very clean.
The bedroom which had a four poster bed was decorated in deep reds and maroons which made the room quite dark but added to the atmosphere and was in keeping with the decorations throughout the hotel.
Breakfast was available from 7.30 to late morning around 11 I think. There was a choice of tea, coffee, apple, orange or cranberry juice. Ample amounts of toast was provided followed by a choice of three starters and a choice of mackerel, kippers, full breakfast or a mix and match from the cooked breakfast. There was no bar service due to Covid which though no fault of the hotel meant we couldn’t get the full experience of the main hall and the fire.
We opted for eat dinner in the hotel every night and the standard of food (see pictures) was excellent very good and well presented.
We were made to feel very welcome at all times and the staff always had a few minutes for a friendly chat.
