For economy conscious travellers I would recommend the 2 star Hotel Rössli for its quiet and convenient location, a five minute level walk from Interlaken West station. A traditional Swiss family run, cosy, clean, unpretentious place, that provides simply furnished rooms with comfortable beds, TV’s, USB charging points and essential facilities. There’s a free 24 hour coffee/tea/microwave unit plus crockery/cutlery available in the ground floor lounge enabling guests to bring in food/drinks. Breakfasts are continental buffet style with the addition of bacon and scrambled eggs plus tea/coffee. Jean Louis frequents the breakfast room, providing humorous comments to raise your spirits and dispensing useful travel tips for his new guests. Christopher (Jean Louis’ son) and his multilingual reception team are very friendly and helpful and can provide multilingual advice, travel tips and tickets for most local attractions. Other Hotel features include: 1. Free Wi-Fi and Parking. 2. Guest card that allows free travel in local zone and discounts at shops and attractions. 3. Ground floor lounge with TV and multilingual library. 4. 1st floor lounge with children’s play area, laptop with Internet, large TV with films library. 5. Pay as you Go laundry facility. 6. Storage room for luggage, bikes, skis etc. I have stayed here many times and can recommend it for its friendly ambience and reasonable pricing. I hope to return again soon.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Roessli while touring the Bernese Oberland. I selected a Standard+ Triple Room, which was spacious and featured a balcony facing the mountain views. The room was very clean with firm comfortable beds. The bathroom with shower was very small but everything worked properly. The staff were very personable and friendly, this is a family run hotel & they are invested in its success. The location was about a 10 minute walk from the Interlaken West train station, with a large Coop grocery a 1/2 block away. The hotel has a coin-op laundry available, which was a key reason we stayed here during the middle of our trip. There is an elevator for luggage & those with mobility issues, but it is better to take the stairs if you can. Listen carefully to the instructions if using the elevator. There is a good breakfast served in the morning. I would stay here again if visiting Interlaken.

I stayed here for 7 nights with my best friend and her mother, the location was perfect, less than 10 minute walk from Interlaken West train station, the staff were so welcoming and friendly and i can safely say i experienced such warm hospitality and kindness in this hotel. i stayed on the third floor with breathtaking mountains for a view every morning, chairs on the balcony, and clean rooms. A whole room on the first floor dedicated for dining and guests are welcomed to the plates, cutlery, microwave and free flow coffee/tea, milk, ice and water kettle. a gaming/ recreational room with computers and tv, a pool table and sofas to lounge, it was extremely relaxing and warm, not to mention cozy. the housekeeping staff were incredibly friendly and kind, so were the front of house staff and even the chefs and admin staff around, everyone always greeted and smiled, i felt so welcomed and taken care of. i would definitely stay again and recommend this to anyone heading to Interlaken

We stayed at the Hotel Rössli for two nights and were so glad we did. This is a small hotel run by wonderful people that is a 5 minute walk from the Interlaken West train station. Although the rooms and bathrooms were small they were typical of Europe and they were immaculate. Our rooms each had balconies with a view of Mt Pilatus. The hotel has coin operated washer and dryers and we happily used them. Although there is no air conditioning they provide fans in each room. It was an added bonus that we could open our balcony doors to let the cool night air in. The breakfast in the morning is typical European but there is also a room where you can get tea/coffee 24 hrs a day. The real plus though to Hotel Rossi is the employees! Chris, the owner, works tirelessly to make sure everything runs smoothly and smiles through it all. Gabriel efficiently checked us in and Ahmed helped wherever he was needed. But I can’t say enough about Svenja. She is always pleasant, efficient, professional, and literally can’t do enough for you. She’s a true jem. If you find yourself in Interlaken stay but make sure you book in advance. It was full both nights we were there. Thanks Hotel Rossli!

Hotel Rössli is an amazing option to stay in Interlaken - Unterseen. It is very close to the Interlaken West station, bus stops and many shops and restaurants. It is very easy to move between the towns of the Bernese Oberland, since the Interlaken West train station is only 6 minutes away by foot or there also is a free bus service to other important train stations. You will be given a free pass to use public transportation during your stay at the reception.
The place feels very cozy and Mr. Jean Louis and all off the staff are incredibly kind. I loved every minute of my stay there. I still remember the amazing and abundant buffet breakfast and the overall quality of the service. I really value that they have laundry service in-house, luggage storage and everything you may need. The cleanliness is also remarkable.
While it may be uncommon to find solo travelers like me visiting the Bernese Oberland, the hotel was perfect for me since they also offer rooms with a single bed at a better cost than a double or king-size bed. Couples and families will, of course, have more options that suit their needs better.
I thought of staying in one of the towns like Grindelwald or Lauterbrunnen but Interlaken is a small city with more services, easier to reach and other wonderful places to see during Spring or Summer like Lake Thun or Brienz. (Sadly, I was not able to visit the lakes at winter time, although I did see some tours were offered during the season).

If you are looking for accommodation in the Interlaken area, look no further than Hotel Rossli. This family run hotel has a traditional feel with friendly and approachable staff who are more than willing to assist guests with questions regarding the local area and attractions.
The Rossli is situated in a quiet part of town, sheltered from the town’s hustle and bustle, but has easy access of shops and transport links. The rooms may be relatively small but are clean, functional, well-kept and the beds are comfortable. Some rooms feature a balcony and have great views of the mountains, adding to the ambience and character of the place. Free on-site parking is also available for those visiting by car. My son and I visited from Scotland around Easter and the hotel entrance and reception area were tastefully decorated with small chocolate eggs available at reception for guests, another typically homely touch.
Breakfast is also worthy of mention with a comprehensive choice of breads, meats, cheeses, fruit and cooked items, all washed down with teas, coffees and a variety of juices. The owner, Jean Louis, is a charismatic host and is always available for a chat, making guests feel at ease and welcome. We had several conversations with him during our stay and his enthusiasm and willingness to please were enlightening. He is proud of his hotel and so he should be!
This hotel is a must for guests looking for a relaxing base in the Interlaken area.

You have to take this for what it is. It's really as much a hostel as a hotel. We stayed for 4 nights. The location is good - near to Interlaken West train station, ten minutes into the main street of Interlaken. A few good restaurants around, recommended by reception. We had a 'Standard plus' room. The first night in Room 1 was not good - too near the entrance and the stairs - noisy! We asked to be moved and went to 24 which was much better - quiet and a nicer room. I am grateful that the receptionist and management made the effort to change rooms and make the stay tolerable. It seems like the rooms are very variable in size. The room was basic - no extras but functional and OK. Breakfast was good - a good selection. Staff at reception were friendly and helpful. The chap who does the breakfasts can be a bit annoying- telling people off for sitting in the wrong places and even telling some people they weren’t allowed to have the light on.

This is a lovely family owned hotel located in a quieter part of Unterseen. We stayed in the family room with bunk beds for 2 nights. Hotel staff are very kind and quite helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room had a perfect view of the beautiful Swiss alps. We slept with the windows open and enjoyed a nice breeze through the room. Breakfast was a delicious start to the day. Parking is located right behind the hotel and was the easiest of all the places we stayed on this trip.

We stayed here for 2 nights. Booking from Australia I wasn't aware of differences btw Interlaken West and Interlaken Ost so it was a bit more of a hassle to get a bus or train to the Ost station to catch connections. Only 5 min to get there in either case but still another connection to manage. Hotel is situated 5 min walk from West station. Local coop us near station. Bar on corner which was quaint and local coffee shop and bakery which was nice. West part less busy than Ost side and much quieter. Not as many tourists. Hotel is in traditional style. There are 3 floors. Our triple room on 2nd floor. There is a lift. Main positives is value for money, triple room availability, beds and linen comfortable. Access to guest lounge to make coffee/tea, get ice, use microwave or fridge, access to plates etc and to eat your own food. Large TV in room with good range of channels. Kids games and movie room (we didn't use) and washing machine dryer on site to use for CHF5 per use. Powder supplied. Shower had great water pressure. Our room had a large balcony facing road with chairs/table. Some minor negatives. Bathroom tiny, but we coped. No air con but standing fan provided which worked well and was pretty quiet on med or low speed. And lots of windows to open. Since we were in quiet area, we kept these open all night for air. With windows open and fan on med speed we were able to have a good nights sleep.
Great engagement with staff. Everyone very helpful and friendly. Owner on site. Nice to sit outside the hotel on the ground floor on outdoor furniture and chat.
Would recommend this hotel for good value given all positives and friendly helpful staff.

Great hotel at 2 stars. Decent breakfast each morning with plenty of tea and coffee. The rooms do not have A/C but a fan is provided in each room which is perfect. I stayed 3 nights here, and it was a great base for exploring Interlaken and surrounding areas. I was able to get a bus just around the corner to Interlaken Ost or walk in about 35mins. Interlaken West is only a short 7-10min walk away.
The hotel itself is clean, and has all you might need. They also supply a kitchen area where you can access ice, glasses, cutlery etc. and a microwave. The rooms a really clean, bedding is very comfy. I had a double room with private bathroom. And I'd recommend it for comfort. The rooms are a little dated, but it is a 2 star so to be expected.

For any questions regarding your forthcoming trips ask the staff at the hotel they are all very knowledgeable and they can help plan the trips and you can also buy tickets from the hotel. Enjoy.
Zurich to interlaken can be done via Bern. Zurich to Bern around 50 mins. Take a transfer at Bern and go to interlaken. It would take an hour. Many connections in both routes.
There are more places to choose from in the Unterseen area.
