Open since June 2015, located on the other side of the boulevard, Café Ha(a)ïtza cultivates a simple and relaxed atmosphere. A luminous wood dresses the place up to the ceiling. Old photos, fishing trophies and hanging hooks give this warm brasserie the feel of an old fisherman’s landmark. Indoors and outdoors : cedar wood furniture and impressive marble tables. The floor is laid with small bricks and a mosaic of colorful cement tiles. « The Ha(a)ïtza Café is just the ‘brasserie’ of our collective memory : timeless, large, warm, lively but with the difference of being at Pyla, in front of the sea, near the dune and that the bosses are the wonderful Sophie and William of La Co(o)rniche. Nothing out of the ordinary but the result of all of the above is unique and makes it once again a new paradise. » Ph.S Philippe Starck imagined central bars, for more conviviality : the place is a meeting point for the residents of the Bay, summer visitors and tourists, a place for exchanges and Rendez-vous. You can find all of William Techoueyres most loyal teams in the kitchens, who have been by his side for years. At your service : a young and passionate team, who is friendly and dynamic.

Amazing service&food. One of the very best hotels i have been to. In a great location with the beach/sea across the street, the hotel impresses for the quality of the staff/service and above all the AMAZING food. The sunday brunch is a MUST. Dont miss Cafe Haitza across the street and spending time in the pool.

First time to the Bordeaux region and the close by Atlantic coast. By pure luck we found this gem in Pyla-sur-Mer and booked the top level apartment for 3 nights. While we nearly had the hotel to our own (at least it felt like it) in the first 2 days, it got busier towards the weekend. Nevertheless the service was impeccable, always someone to help and amazing with the kids. Superb 5 star service, a top concierge that made our trip one of the best ones ever and nice restaurants and bars. The breakfast was a nice and fresh selection, top quality and relaxed seating, both indoors and outdoors. On our last night the concierge booked the restaurant at the sister property Co(o)rniche just up the road, great sunset, good music, cold drinks and fab service. Overall one of the best stays I had in my life, we will def come back.

Exceeding my expectations. The room and the restaurants looked better than on the pictures. The design is very well done, though the normal rooms are a bit small. The attention to detail is amazing. What makes all the difference is the staff. Everyone was wonderful, friendly, welcoming and very helpful. The hotel is just 1 Minute away from a small beach. If you want to go to the very long and beautiful beach at Dune du Pilat, the hotels provides a shuttle that drops you off at the top of some stairs, so it is just a 5-10 minute walk. I didn‘t want to leave and will definitely be back!

This hotel boasts about Philippe Starck revamp. What a huge disappointment. Concrete stairwells, and little decor, poor lighting and the facilities in room very poor.

The service in the bar area are good, but it is a pricey option for a cocktail.

Food quality was good but not outstanding. Breakfast buffet was nice but ran out quickly at busy times. Had to ask persistently for hot food, no offer of this up front.

The pool is a key feature of the hotel, it nice but its crowded, little cleaning in evidence on the changing of the sunbeds to comply with Covid, saw no sanitation going on. The high turnover here it is not great. Large groups of people dining poolside on Sunday in the guest area was really loud, annoying and distracting. No privacy for guests. It like its key feature has to be on show to max number of people - so what is the point of an 'exclusive' hotel. Rethink needed on this.

Spa services good but facilities poor -shared Jacuzzi in spa with Sunday brunch diners watching is not a luxury spa. Over marketed again.

The area is monopolised by this hotel and its sister, there is no information within the hotel of other restaurants and concierge service is non existent, largely down to trainees in post. Overall it is overmarketed and does not stand the test of a 5 Star price tag.

We booked for a romantic weekend at the hotel. The day before my wife came down with illness. This was at the same time as COVID, so we decided to be safe and stay at home. I didnt expect a refund, however when i asked to reschedule the reservation for 2 months time, the very unhelpful, unfriendly and impolite manager told me to forget it and they would not accommodate our request. When i asked for a reason, she simply said "it was policy". How would she feel if she lost 2.5k euro because her loved one was ill? The lack of compassion and failure to try and comprehend the situation is disgusting, especially at these times of difficulty.

Loved our stay at the Haitza! Gorgeous bedrooms with a real feel of luxury…. And housekeeping standards were exceptional.

Great food - we really enjoyed the breakfasts and the Sunday Brunch was sensational… a real treat!

Loved the location close to the beach. It’s a little way from Arcachon - although we hired ebikes and cycled in on the pathways which was very easy and enjoyable.

Above all - the staff stood out for being really pleasant and very helpful. Melissa (and Matilde!) on the front desk was exceptional - a warm welcome every time we arrived back at the hotel and couldn’t do enough to help.

We’d love to come back!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are nicely finished with a unique and fresh design, and all the comforts you could want. The towels are amazingly soft!! For me, the biggest attraction of this hotel was the pool, which was heated in April and absolutely divine. It's got a lovely retractable glass roof so you can swim rain or shine, while feeling like you're outdoors. The hotel and restaurant staff were for the most part very friendly; Charlotte in the spa was wonderful! All in all, it's hard to find fault with much - though the drinks in the hotel lounge are very expensive, and the food options somewhat limited (except at breakfast, which had lots of choice). If you're in the area, stop by their sister hotel La Co(o)rniche (just up the road) for amazing views at sunset.

Early August 3 night stay with Better Half and 2 1/2 year old Monster. We were just floored right from the gate when we pulled over and gave our key to the Valet (A+): the hotel is just gorgeous, surrounded by pine trees, in a very very high end neighborhood (Pyla sur mer) blending perfectly with its surrounding. Inside, the decor deserves props. Its nothing like we have ever seen or experienced but what would seem on paper completely chaotic just works, is plain beautiful and fully contributes to the feeling of being home when you stay at this hotel. Props to Starck and his team. Service is aligned with the price point of this hotel: warm, affectionate, knowledgeable yet never intrusive. Our room was to date the most gorgeous we have ever experienced (Suite 302). From the amenities, the decoration, the day bed, the linens, views etc. everything is perfect. Special note: the soaps/shampoos and the choice of recycled or regular TP. Awesome. In essence, we felt like (in a way more luxurious and cosy) home, and again, this is what hostelry should be.
Kids: The hotel has many families staying and is a non issue. Monster loved the hotel and the staff was extremely friendly with kids. However, the hotel managed to make it feel not like a daycare: bravo. Pool: the pics out there dont do it justice. Food: the "Gastronomique" is good, but too bistro. We didnt eat anything "wow"
The plates could have been a bit more adventurous, as you would expect with a one star and particularly at that price point. The bistro across the street (Sister to hotel) was fantastic, dont be fooled by seeing this place jam-packed every evening till the wee hours. Very good value for price, excellent service when we were there. Else, the cafe down stairs offers a very decent daytime menu which we used quite a few times. Surprisingly not too expensive given the quality. Only comment would be: please, a kids menu (although Monster doesnt mind eating Buffala and other fancy stuff). Also, ask for the drink specials, worth it. Other than that, the place is well situated (by car) to go see the dune, the beaches south of town, or even for a trip to Arcachon. The beach in fron of hotel is not "cuba-worthy" but a 2 year old doesnt care so long there is sand.
All in all, an excellent stay, pure bliss, an hotel that marks your memories and we are already planning our next trip. Congratulation on running such a fine establishment.
