My friend and I just had a one night stay, prior to taking Le Shuttle the following day, and were delighted with Les Dornes. We stayed in a ground floor, twin room (Nuage) which was spacious, comfortable and just perfect for our needs.
On the evening of our arrival, we joined six other guests, and our hosts, for a tasty home-cooked dinner that Jacqueline had prepared. It was quite a diverse group of diners so, needless to say, it was an entertaining evening with some really interesting and lively conversations going on! We thoroughly enjoyed the occasion and particularly liked that our hosts, Jacqueline and Gilles, led the meal and actually ate with their guests, something that we’d not previously experienced. Breakfast was a more subdued affair, but just as enjoyable, with fresh fruit salad, homemade preserves, fresh bread and croissants.
Les Dornes is a lovely chambre d'hôte that offers fantastic value for money. However, whilst it’s perfectly positioned for a stopover en route to Eurotunnel, there’s so many local points of interest making it worthy of a longer stay. We hope to return.

Our stay was very pleasant and our hosts were very kind and attentive. We particularly enjoyed our evening meal, so nicely prepared by Jacqueline. The breakfasts, too, were very good with home-made preserves and yoghurt.
Our rooms were comfortable and simply furnished. There are no televisions in the rooms which I think is a very good idea as it adds to the peaceful atmosphere.
We would happily stay here again.

We had an absolutely lovely overnight stay here on our way to the South of France. Our room was huge and beautifully decorated. The owners treated us as part of the family. The evening meal was excellent as was breakfast, with lots of their own produce. We will definitely come again and maybe stay a bit longer to explore the area.
We were able to pull our car, with bikes on the back, onto the drive , and the gates were locked at night so we would not be concerned about security for our brand new E-bikes!

The perfect location for a stress free stop on your way to Calais. The bonus is that it's also perfect in every other way too. A delight to have a charming and well informed couple who speak excellent English and know their region. We won't hesitate to return but next time I'll make sure I have enough cash as there's no card reader. However the ten minute drive to the nearest cash machine was a pleasant trip in the morning sun.

Jacqueline and Gilles are the most welcoming, friendly hosts you could wish for. We stayed twice in August on our way to and fro to the Alps. Our room was spotlessly clean, large and cool - definitely a bonus this year! Our evening meals were lovely and we really enjoyed the French conversation. They are very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about their area of France and we hope to return in the future.

This is THE BEST B&B I have ever stayed in. The house is beautiful and spotlessly clean and our room was huge. Gilles and Jacqueline are amazing hosts. We were walking the Via Francigena route from Canterbury to Rome. Gilles spent much time advising us about the history of the area through which we would be walking in the coming days, and what not to miss. Jacqueline is a FANTASTIC cook. Our 4 course meal would not have been out of place in a top class city restaurant. Definitely 5 star accommodation

Les Dornes is a very comfortable establishment located in a lovely hamlet of Upen D’Aval near Delettes which is around half an hour from Calais. Les Dornes is owned and run by Jacqueline & Gilles Blondel, both of them spoke very good English. They both made you feel very welcome and very comfortable in their accommodation. We stayed on two different occasions, each occasion we had a different room. We stayed with a friend of ours, and our son. All rooms were spacious, clean, had en-suite and tastefully decorated with a different style. There was wi-fi available, tea & coffee was available in the main hall as well as each room having bottled water. On both occasions when we stayed, we had our evening meal with Jacqueline & Gilles. We have never been to another guest house where the owners sit and enjoy their evening meal with you. We found this very interesting. It was good to sit down and talk with them, and, on our first occasion with their other guests. It gave us time to spend time with ‘locals’ and they told us of what the area offered. We learned slightly more French than what we went with and Jacqueline & Gilles learned slightly more English than before!! The breakfast at Les Dornes was varied and very enjoyable. But what we really enjoyed was the evening meal – Jacqueline is an excellent chef. And Gilles picks very good white and red wine! All meal choices (except for the cheeses) were homemade, sometimes using ingredients out of their own garden but mostly the ingredients came from local farms. We felt we had been spoilt with the food. Les Dornes is easy to find, has off street parking and large grounds. We hope to go back next year to discover more of the area and have no hesitation in recommending Les Dornes to anyone.

We really enjoyed our night here on our way from the Channel Tunnel through France. Jacqueline and Gilles are wonderful hosts, and we were made to feel very welcome. Our room was well appointed, spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We had a super evening meal and breakfast. Everything we could wish for, in marvellous surroundings. Furnishings were attractive and very French! Very pretty garden where we sat out in the evening sun. A perfect start to our holiday. Excellent value for money.

Les Dornes is a perfect Chambre d'hote to stay either en route back to Calais or as we did for a day's cycling in the Pas de Calais. The accommodation is exceptionally clean, and being a modern house the bedroom and bathroom large with a very good shower. If the weather is fine, relax in the beautiful gardens. Tea and coffee facilities provided is you wish. Jacqueline and Gilles are exceptional hosts, Jacqueline cooks excellent evening meals if you want and Gilles is a fund of information on the area and its history. Due to rain on the first morning we visited La Coupole, just 15 mins drive away where the V.2 rockets were intended to be built by the Nazis in WW2 - worth visiting and allow 2/3 hours to see everything.
Just a short drive to the A26 autoroute the location could not be better.

We found this lovely B&B last year on the way home from Spain. Nothing had changed except that this year we stayed on Sunday which was a big mistake! The reason for this is that Gilles and Jacqueline have a family day on Sunday so no dinner is available. We so enjoyed the 4 course dinner last year with wine and nibbles but had forgotten that it was Monday when we stayed last year. Everything else was great as always and the breakfast sublime due to the larger croissants now on the table. We do go there whenever we can and last year we took two other couples in December and they loved it too.
