Personnel is really polite, rooms are normal and equipped with everything you need,(A/C, fridge, TV). The view is really good and the hotel is close to the beach which is a plus. At the reception you can find all information regarding the area and again you can find people who can speak english.

Hi, I was there for a week in September for work, a hotel with a sea view and facing the seafront. Well furnished rooms with all comforts and spotless. Very welcoming staff and plentiful breakfast. Very satisfying experience, I highly recommend.

We were on a bicycle road trip from Trapani to Pozzalo via the coast and our schedule forced us to stop in Gela. We were aware that the hotel ( even the city ) wouldnt be very impressive but that is already a huge overstatement. I was very sorry we didnt try harder to avoid this place.
At some point long ago this hotel must have had some succes and standard, which you can see in a stairway which is full of very old certificates and prizes the hotel once won. Very ironic if you see in what state it is now.
The room was very run down, pretty dirty with cobwebs, dust and rust everywhere. the Ac unit was kept together with tape, the electricity plugs were hanging out of the socket. In the morning when the linen had come loose i realised that my matress had dark brown spots all over them which sent chills down my spine.
Bathroom was pretty much same disaster with mould, rust etc. Staff couldnt care less and its obvious that the owners havent been in their own rooms for a long time. funny enough they still provide 5 star amenities such as toothbrushes but the cabinet in which they place it is almost coming off.
When we arrived at 4 pm the breakfast set up was completely done already (not just the plates but also the food!) and in the morning it became clear to us that nothing was fresh and all was prepacked. We had breakfast at 9.30 and were already to late for fresh bread, we were informed.
The worst of all is that the hotel is very aware that they pretty much have the monopoly on accomodation in Gela and charged us 130 euros.
Gela is nothing special either...garbage everywhere. Disappointing

Gela doesn't have too many hotels (maybe 3), this what makes hotel Sole, the best choice. it's by the ocean, has a nice restaurant and coffee-place 1-min walk from it.

Stayed here for 6 nights. Very typically Sicilian hotel. Staff were lovely, nothing too much trouble. Room with balcony (and sun bed!) very clean and fresh towels every day. Help yourself to sweets In reception (!) and comfy area to sit with sofas. Breakfast substantial, as much fresh coffee and tea as needed. We loved staying there. Thank you

The hotel is situated in walking distance from the railway station/ bus station, but were easy to find. We liked better to stay there than in the senter, where the streets had too much garbage lieing around. We enjoyed staying there and found our room clean and comfortable with a balcony with sea view. The staff was nice, and the breakfast good, and we really liked the Sicilian bread. As we stayed only one night, there is not more to add, but the hotel functioned well.

Hotel Sole offers an exceptional location right on the beach. It is also walking distance to many great restaurants along the sea or up the hill to Main Street. Staff is A+ in professionalism. Very clean and free breakfast. Highly recommend to anyone passing through.

An unexpected stop in Gela led to a lovely night in Hotel Sole. The staff were kind, friendly, helpful, accommodating and we were given a room overlooking the sea, with welcome air conditioning. In the morning a short walk to the beach - a calm beautiful blue sea, hardly any people and perfect for swimming - maybe we missed the rush. Much more than we'd bargained for or anticipated from this unassuming town. Breakfast was fresh fruit and pastries (and a lot of sugary stuff too). Thank you.
