Zafran a typical fine example of Sicilian noble building dated end of XIX century welcomes you on the historic waterfront of Donnalucata (RG) on the south-eastern coast of Sicily. Zafran is a luxury Boutique Hotel & Restaurant that will receive, welcome and cocoon you, in a very discrete mode during your sojourn, within its 11 rooms (6 double standard rooms and 5 suites) and the Gourmet Restaurant. We are on the sea shore of the fisherman burg of Donnalucata (RG) and just few minutes' drive from the most important UNESCO's protected sites and much more... Throughout the year, your Zafran Boutique Hotel offers the possibility to escape from the everyday routine to a unique environment notable for its warmth and serenity, which at the same time catapults you into the bosom of Baroque art, the splendor of the Iblean landscape, and the exquisite cuisine of yesteryear. As you see, we are on the sea shore and a short walk from wild, free sandy beaches ... Finally the beautiful sea views and breathtaking sunsets. Welcome to Sicily ... Welcome to Zafran!

A converted beach front villa in a charming quiet seaside resort. Clearly they had to gut the place as the lovely period exterior gives way to an ultra modern interior. All rooms I believe have sea front views and all amenities although the missing tiles and hole in our bedroom floor was a bit of a let down as was the bathroom mirror starting to deteriorate. Pleasant small pool and handy car park. Lots of eateries of all grades-nearby. A pleasant buffet breakfast . In all a great place for a few days by the sea and handy for touring the nearby baroque towns if you have a car.

We stayed in this special and beautiful property from 8 to 15 August.
The only hotel on the Donnalucata seafront
Hospitality, kindness and competence characterize all the staff
Rooms perfectly cleaned daily
I absolutely recommend the hotel restaurant, also open to the public.
The chef offers you high quality fish dishes.
It's a pleasure….!!

What can I say?
Location, qualify, courtesy of the staff, overall value.
The best hotel we've been in Sicily.
Overlooking the sea with some of the best views of the island.
Bfast was super large and severed on a restaurant overlooking the sea.
Absolutely reccomended.

Very relaxing quirky designer hotel upgraded within a week preserved nineteenth century shell.

Loved it for its quirks as shown in the hotel pictures. It grows on you. We loved it.

Great location and Donnalucata is real off the beaten track Sicily with lovely beaches and plenty of local eateries in the vicinity of the hotel.

Santo and his staff could not have been more charming or helpful in every way.

Nice pool and private off road parking.

Great value and lovely holiday chill experience on our 14 day touring adventure of Sicily.

Nothing wrong with the room, and the staff were very helpful, but all the facilities in the hotel were closed. The big 3 that the hotel uses in its marketing are pool, "gourmet restaurant" and private beach. But all this was closed, without a single word being mentioned on the hotel's website.

We got the money back for the rest of our stay, but not tourist tax or VAT. The hotel suddenly stopped responding to emails when I brought it up with them.

Beautiful Boutique hotel close to the beach and the small town of Donnalucata. Great cleanliness and breakfast. Modern rooms and large bathrooms. Staff available. Convenient parking within the structure or along the street. Recommended!

Beautiful hotel, located in the center of Donnalucata and overlooking the seafront; the interior renovation is elegant.
We had chosen a room with a sea view, spacious and functional.
Excellent breakfast, both sweet and savory.
Very kind staff.

A fabulous restaurant experience! Myself and my partner ate here during our holiday in Sicily, we had a 4 course dinner with 1 course on the house, and a bread board consisting of 7 types of bread! the staff were very pleasant and welcoming, the chef came out to greet us. Definitely worth a visit!

Donnalucata is a charming and peaceful place. The perfect place to relax and reset your mind.
The hotel has perfect lacquering by the sea and a large beach. Right next to the hotel there is a restaurant with delicious food and friendly service.
The hotel was clean and quiet. The hotel has a small car park.We booked a suite that was very spacious and decorated in a maritime style. However, he disappointed us because of the completely enclosed balconies, which deprived the room of a wonderful view of the sea.
Therefore, we asked to change the room. We received the usual room unfortunately at the price we paid for the apartment. The room was clean, with a beautiful bathroom with tub and a wonderful sea view. Breakfast in a decidedly Italian style.
To sum up, if I have the opportunity to visit Sicily again, I will be happy to visit Hotel Zafran.

HORRIBLE SERVICE.....the staff barely understood English. I speak Italian very well, but my daughter did not. Our room smelled like MOLD, I told the hotel manager that I would not be able to stay in the room because my daughter has asthma, he told me that the smell was not mold but was the new paint!! Wrong... I asked him to move us into another room and he said they were sold out and would try to find me a different hotel! The second night I was there, I saw him move another family into a different room?? I asked him for a dehumidifier and he said it was built into the air conditioning system. I told him the air turns off when we leave the room (hotel is energy efficient) asked him and the other manager on duty several times to over ride the system and leave the air on to control the smell of mold and they never did. One early evening, my daughter and I went into the restaurant and in perfect Italian, I asked the manager if we could get a light bite to eat, she told me they were booked, I looked around the restaurant and the entire restaurant was empty. So we turned around and left. Lastly, I asked for an iron at the front desk, the manager told me I could use my BLOWDRIER......., I told him no, that would not work and finally they brought me an iron and I had to iron my clothes on the floor. I feel that for the $250.00 euro I paid per night I should have had better service, quite disappointing for such a beautiful hotel.
